I had a terrible, terrible experience visiting this landfill. I arrived at this landfill 15 minutes before closing time, well within the posted business hours, only to be turned away at the gate. If the actual cutoff time is earlier than the listed closing time, then management needs to clearly post that information instead of misleading customers. This isn’t just an inconvenience, it’s a failure in management, policy, and communication. Nowhere on their website, signage, or public notices does it say they stop allowing entry before closing. If employees are enforcing their own unspoken rules, then it’s clear there’s a lack of oversight and proper policies in place. A business that operates on strict hours should respect the time of its customers and stand by the information they publicly provide. If you’re going to lock people out before closing, be upfront about it, and respect other people’s time! If you’re thinking about coming here, be warned: their posted hours mean nothing. Show up early, because apparently, “closing time” is whenever they feel like it! I was told I should have been there by 4:15 PM despite the fact that there are no posted signs! I attempted contacting the management, whose names were posted at the gate with their phone numbers, but I was not able to actually speak to anyone. Complete waste of time!

They asked me what area I was coming from. Informally I said highland park as it was close and easy to reference, when technically I was coming from the edge of south Pasadena. He told me I couldn’t dump there, and when I showed him my address and a map showing I was from the area he still refused, saying they “go by what the customer says”. Pro-Tip: Lie to them.

If you have anything to waste, be prepared to waste your time with them as well. Like most other landfills, this place has crappy management. I tried calling them several times to get general info and never got ahold of anyone. Decided to risk it and just go there with my debris. Was asked where it was coming from and was told that they don’t take debris from that area (the way, it was asked implied that I could lie and say it was from anywhere where they would accept it from and I would have been fine). Probably would’ve found that out ahead of time if anyone could answer the freaking phone! Two sayings come to mind: “You are what you eat”; well this is a facility which eats garbage. “Garbage in, garbage out”; thanks for your garbage-tier service! Can’t believe organizations with this much power can still exist when they don’t make their policies clear and easily accessible to their potential customers!

Terrible service. Always coming up. With a new type of way to turn you away from dumping.

Great staff, very honest people. When you first get weight in you pay a fee, when you are done dumping your trash you go back to the last line all the way to your far right and the weight your truck again. I always get no less then $30 to $50 back. So, for all of the “crew members” complaining about over paying who sat in a line for one hour, maybe they should of read the signs posted everywhere telling to return after you dump to correct if you were overcharge.

I dispatched workers to get rid of a small amount of discarded furniture, well under half a ton by any reasonable estimate. Despite their poor English, they faced charges for almost three tons, inflating the price from $95 to $252. After contacting the supervisor to address this, I was told that no corrections could be made once the truck had left the site, which is unreasonable. They should have just reweighed the load. Their deceptive practices and a non-functional complaint line that leads nowhere highlight serious issues.

A crew of workers was dispatched by me to remove a small volume of refuse furniture, definitely under half a ton. Nonetheless, they were charged for almost three tons, increasing the fee from $95 to $252 due to their basic English skills. When I contacted the supervisor to complain, he said no adjustments could be made after the truck left, which is absurd. A simple reweighing was all that was required. This misleading and exploitative behavior, coupled with a complaint phone line that only loops automated messages, is highly unacceptable.

My team was sent to dispose of a minimal load of furniture, estimated at less than half a ton. Regrettably, due to their limited English, they ended up being charged for nearly three tons, increasing their fee from $95 to $252. When I called to complain, the supervisor insisted that once the truck departs, no changes can be made, which is illogical. Reweighing the truck would have been a simple solution. This, along with a complaint line that only offers endless automated responses, shows a pattern of misleading and predatory tactics.

My crew was tasked with disposing of a small quantity of refuse furniture, certainly less than half a ton. Due to their poor English skills, they were incorrectly charged for nearly three tons, with the cost jumping from $95 to $252. Upon complaining to the supervisor, I was told that adjustments were not feasible after the truck had left, which is irrational. Simply reweighing the truck would have sufficed. The deceptive tactics and a dysfunctional phone line for complaints are very concerning.

BEWARE!! where you tell them what city you are from. I waited in line 1/2 an hour and when I got to the payment booth, I was asked (and I couldn't understand at first because the guy on the other side of the glass only has a small hole to speak through) what city and I stupidly told the truth from Studio City (Hollywood Hills). He said they don't accept "trash" there. I told him all I have is recycling clean cardboard. He told me to check the blue map taped to the window that shows where I can dump, but I thought it was not fair for all the other people waiting so I left frustrated. He could have given me a map and then I could take my time to browse.

Speaking of garbage, the Lakers game is a dumpster fire. They are getting beat by Minnesota 76 to 61 right now. Kind of strange that this dump is getting such great reviews. It’s actually beating out chipotle right now for popularity.

First time up there today to check it out. It is a bit odd at first and looks like the line wraps around to get to the weigh in scales slash pay booths. I thought I would post the prices in a pic. I was there just to look if they sold mulch but didn’t see any and didn’t bother with the line.

Spectacular views of Los Angeles & the wildflowers are going off right now! This was my first vist to the Scholl Cyn landfill. The staff were very friendly & welcoming - they didn't treat me like a noob. You wait in a line to pay for access, drive up to the top & get directed to a spot to empty your truck. Easy smeasy.

All these Goons talking about waiting for an hour isn't true; good prices, good crew, open air, I like this place.

Fair prices, staff around landfill is helpful, but lookout for revenue collecting highway patrol hanging unannounced out looking to get you for anything wrong with your vehicle
Jan 28, 2021 -
It’s decently priced but you will sit in your truck for an hour just to get weighed. They need a new logistics coordinator to streamline the process.

Cost for Construction disposal very reasonable! within an hour I was out. I gave 4.8 stars only because you can't actually see the tellers trought the tinted windows you need to do all the talking through the paying opening!?

Everyone was helpful and today it wasn't very smelly so it was win win. Didn't nearly have enough stuff to warrant the $53 a ton but it was cheaper then hiring someone else to do it. Saw a 800 junk truck up there as well. Bought L a coffee so dumping for $55 is easy better than the $200 I would have spent getting an appointment and having someone else do it.

Great landfill. The prices are good, but the line to get in is very long. It takes 30 min or more to just get on the scale and pay. They accept green waste, construction debri, dirt, cement ,household trash. What they don't accept is paint or hazardous waste.

This place is a good landfill . Best prices anywhere to dump trash. I recommend this place for contractors and landscapers. The only bad thing there is usually a long line to get in . Usually a 20 min to 30 min to get in. However, the trash must come from the local area.

The reason why trucks are waiting is because people in charge of paperwork are talking each other all the time, and there is one guy specifically that is so rude and offensive with the truck drivers

Tuesday morning long line slow scale. Waited more than hour in my old truck that was just idling
