Republic has left an abandoned dumpster behind our retail location (Old Town Scottsdale) for almost 2 months. NUMEROUS phone calls have been met with "we understand your concern blah blah blah" and attitude. Nothing has happened. It is not only an eye sore, but a danger as it is in the middle of a parking lot FILLED with garbage. What an unprofessional mismanaged company.

I have been trying to talk to someone for an hour. I'm still on hold with the corporate services main number. Why can't you talk to someone. Where is management. Why can't I talk to someone. It's all about money, not services.

The bill is emailed on 8/1 "Friday" @927 pm for the period starting 8/1 with yet another price increase. Tried cancelling Monday morning.on hold for 1 hour and 27 minutes only to be told that i have to call back due to system issues. Taking my info and calling me back was beyond their comprehension. Called back Tues and held for over 30 minutes. So they will cancell my service only after they bill me for the month plus a removal fee of $ 54.00. -Send the bill prior to the start of the service might help. - send an email regarding an upcoming price increase . Bad billing practices.

It should be NO stars, Google. Never order trash service from Republic Services! Prices jump consistently with every billing cycle. No one answers their customer service lines. I just sat on hold for 45 mins. Try to cancel service and you are ignored, hung up on, and threatened with bills to pick up the barrel! Their barrel! Why would anyone pay to have the company’s barrel picked up? This is the worst company I have ever dealt with!

First of all should be a negative 5 stars what a terrible company. I have a old water softener I need to get rid of.Went on their web site it says if you have bulk items call to arrange a pickup.So I do, call them tell them what it is was told to put it out with my regular so I do. Come garbage day put it out and guess what was not picked up.So I call them to ask why they didn`t pick it up was told it was to heavy for driver to get in truck, no kidding that`s why I call to arrange bulk pickup. Then I was told that they don`t pick up water softeners but they could provide me phone numbers for land fills around me. When I called to arrange pick up I was told no problem, It became a problem because the route driver couldn't` get it in the truck and they were not going to go out of their way to help the customer. The problem is Republic deals with the town, City or Village and the customer has no say,so the money streams in every month and they don`t care.

I live in a rural area in 85331 that is very quiet at night. For the past three weeks Republic West has been emptying our neighbors dumpsters at 9:30-10pm. Very loud noise from slamming dumpsters and beeping sounds. What kind of company would design the routes so residential neighborhoods are distributed this late? We don’t live close to businesses we are residential only. Thanks again for waking up my kids!!! UPDATE: Shortly after posting the review and talking to customer service Republic services fixed the issue. For some reason, they had the driver picking up residential on the wrong hours. Mistakes happen and life goes on. No more late night pick ups or woken up kids. Wonderful.

Customer service is horrible. I’ve called twice and have been told someone will get back to me. All I want is to downsize my bins to a smaller size. I was told they would need to make an exception for “my area”. Others in my neighborhood have the small bins. Do you they want to encourage people to make trash!!!

I sold the store a month ago and they don't cancel it like Lubbock's Republic company. I sent all the proof of clossing the company and the documents they asked for. They keep charging me fees. I already use other places but they want a contract of 3 years and this is similar to a real estate lease contract. They fine me if I don't fulfill my 3 year contract. You guys please don't fall into this trap. They are my fault for clossing the store and will fine me $1000. This is 6 months. I can pay 6 months without even using it. But they are not even canceling this contract. I hope you guys choose the company well. from Lubbock TX

Contacted them in regards to a bulk pick up of a freezer. They said they do not pick up appliances in my area. Although on their website they do offer the service. Contacted local customer service with no satisfaction. Spoke to corporate complaint line and they were no help. Then gentleman says he is the highest person in the company that talks on a phone. No you are not the CEO, CFO, COO, VP, EVP, so you are not the highest person that can speak on a phone. All I asked if they could pass this up the chain to be addressed with a return response.

No surprise I'm giving a 1 star review. Doesn't seem like Republic cares either judging by the other reviews. Missed pick ups, lack of response and promises not kept. Worst waste management co ever in my opinion. They've missed my trash 2 weeks in a row and yet I can't get anyone to call back. No explanation as to why liveries are rescheduled. But they're on top of billing me for services not received.

They have the worst customer service. They took over GFL earlier this year. We had no issues with their recycle service but their trash service is terrible. Their website states that if your pick up is missed it will happen the next business day. That is not true. And even when you call a rep to report the problem, it still doesn't get fixed. They have missed us three time since the first week in July. We are cancelling our service with them.

Garbage pickup in our senior community is on Thursdays and due to Veteran's day your truck was supposed to pick up our trash today, Friday No. 15. You driver drove just down our street 30 miles an hour. Speed limit is 15. and didn't take the trash. I have no more room for garbage in my bin. Updated Review: Republic Services is an extremely bad company. I would NEVER recommend using them for any reason. After dealing with months of missed pick-ups. I finally got in touch with someone to cancel service. It was a HUGE HASSLE though. It took months to get them to remove their dumpster from my property. Now, they are coming after me for breaking the contract and want outrageous fees. Agreements are two sided. I agreed to pay for a service that they didn't provide as per the agreement. They are currently threating to ruin my credit if I don't pay them off. Previous Review: I would never use Republic Services again or recommend them to anyone. In fact, I'd recommend to anyone that has them to get out ASAP. It's been two weeks since they last picked up my trash. Every day they say a truck is on the way. Every day they miss. Worse yet, yesterday they said they came, but they did not. Trash is piling up around me house. They have been missing pickups often in the last couple of months, but this is the longest so far. I now just want to cancel service, but of course Republic won't make that easy. I have to wait for someone to contact me in order to cancel. No one has contacted me.

8 days since my trash had been picked up. Regular missed weeks throughout the year to the point I don't even call after being missed the first day, tons of time on the phone with the company attempt an equitable resolution. The excuse? Driver shortage. Not my problem. I will repeat, I do not pay for a service and in that say, "Well, if you fail to meet your end because you don't hire enough, or pay enough to attract more drivers, then by all means - forget me again and again." Yeah, fixing your business is NOT my problem. This review will not change or be looked at until I have a year of well communicated and rarely missed service. I'm writing a letter to the CEO at their corporate office -Jon Vander Ark. I will be keeping a copy of the letter and I will update should I get a response and what that response is. What I'm asking for isn't even that insane. A $10 credit if a week of service is missed. I have received $3.42. Which is something, and even at 10 isn't equal to the full week and doesn't account for my time. The customer service agents have been friendly and great in helping do what they can. They aren't able to resolve many of these issues, they don't have guidance to put such a note on the policy. If republic services doesn't have skin in the game on this, they will not change. As my only option for trash services, I feel confined to a subpar experience regularly. If they could only he mediocre more consistently and complete the task more consistently without me having to call... that'd be awesome. Addendum: Last week, the local company called me back. The supervisor took care to work with me, responded, and showed me again that this isn't an issue with the workers at the company. I am disappointed that thr CEO was willing enough to delegate the problem away but not respond, they didn't give me what I wanted but the Sup went out of their way to get me a credit of a quarter, and found out that a map/directions of my route may of been part of the problem. That's worth elevating the stars to 2.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM REPUBLIC SERVICES. Company I work for had bi-weekly pick ups for our rented trash bin. They have a 3 year contract that they automatically renew if not given 3 months advanced notice to back out. They changed our price by $200 a month shortly after signing a contract that allows them to change prices whenever. Pick ups kept getting marked as picked up when in fact they were not - had to call over 4 times in a row to get it picked up or else we would have paid for them if we didn't catch the missed pick ups. They had a breach of contract and tried to say it wasn't. Called many times and left a few BBB reviews until they finally canceled our account. Now we are using Waste Management which has better contract terms and the customer service is much friendlier. So glad to not have to deal with Republic Services ever again. Waste Management will not change prices in the middle of the contract either which is the best part and is only a 1 year contract with 30 day cancellation policy.

Been a business client in Kansas City ever since Republic took it over. After having bills sky rocket with no real reason and I might add in violation of the signed contract, contract price was $380 & we are now being charged over $800. When I asked my rep, Kaitlin, she did not respond. Decided to cancel and go to Waste Management as my contract is back to the $380. I have spent since 5/14 trying to get a removal date for the Republic dumpster. Emailed & called my rep with no response. Finally received an email from the rep who said she'd have a date the following week, that was 2 weeks ago. Called this morning and spoke to someone different that was able to go ahead and schedule the removal, sure hope it happens. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. UPDATE 6.13.24: This company actually had the rep call me that I couldn't get to return a call or email during the cancellation & removal process and when I complained again they basically told me that's who I have to deal with. This company has such questionable business practices. May I reiterate that we were under contract and they raised our rates every 10 months by 25% and stand by the practice. Did find the below on Republic website about rate increases so I'd like to request where that was ever communicated to my company. Also, if you complain they will make YOU work even harder by asking YOU to email another email address and your have to include your original review if you want to escalate. But escalate to them means they'll toss you right back to the rep that was of no assistance or knowledgable on the increases. Below is from Republic site: Rate Increases Throughout the course of providing your service, Republic Services may increase your rates for service. Rate increases are necessitated over time to keep up with increasing costs of operations and to ensure Republic Services’ operating subsidiaries are maintaining an acceptable operating margin and/or an acceptable rate of return on their investment in the services provided. Republic Services’ operating subsidiaries reserve the right to determine in their sole discretion the amount of all rate increases. If your service is subject to a written contract (or other written agreement applicable to your service), your rate increase will comply with the limitations set forth in your contract, if any. You will receive advance notice of any rate increases, which notice may be in the form of an invoice message and/or change on your invoice (if billed in advance).

Worst company. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Just switched to curbside containers 6 weeks ago, they missed my pick up 3 out of those 6 weeks. I tried to cancel on April 9th (now April 23rd) and no one would return my call even after multiple escalation cases were opened. Finally spoke with my accountant manager today, he said I have to give 3 months notice due to their contract and they won't come get the containers until June. As far as I'm concerned, RepServ. broke the contract for lack of service. The accountant manager Charles, tried to tell me every company has a contract.. No. No they don't, Charles. Just this stupid corporate trash monopoly you chose to work for. I found an amazing local company, no contracts, and they charged me significantly less for service, and they pick up my cans consistently every week. Update: Jason, the director of operations, called me and was extremely nice and helpful. He made sure the cans were promptly removed from my premises. Thanks Jason! Glad to put this experience behind us.

Our normal bill is about 87 dollars. For the month of February they are charging us over double 184 dollars. My boyfriend has contacted them multiple times. The first time the representative stated “she has never seen anything like this before” involved her manager who also stated he was unsure and had never seen anything like this before. They sent a email to corporate and we were suppose to get a call back within 24-48 hours. My boyfriend called back 3 days later since he didn’t receive a call spoke to a different representative that was persistent stating “the charges are dude to increase and taxes” wouldn’t even look at the pervious note inputted by the pervious representative. My boyfriend called AGAIN got the original representative who once again sent a email to corporate. Even suggested we pay the ridiculous bill or our services will get shut off and we can possibly work out a refund after. It’s now been 2 weeks of us calling and have still not gotten the issue resolved. Not once has corporate or the manager even attempted to call us to resolve the issue so we can have our bill corrected.

UPDATE: The company contacted me after 2 phone calls to customer service, 1 by me and 1 by the president of the condo association, 2 reviews including this one, and one chat message on the company website. You can read their response below. A smaller bin was dropped at my home the day after. Dear Jon Vander Ark, President and CEO of Republic Services, You've taken my bin again. I have a small one and I want it back. I understand you've discontinued the smaller bins in my area. Is it cheaper to outfit your trucks to work only with the larger sized bins? Based on the online feedback for you and your company, I can only assume customer service is not on the priority list. Since you're in Phoenix, perhaps you need a reminder that it snows in Indiana, making it very difficult and dangerous for a senior citizen to handle one of your large bins to the curb. I've already called your customer service line and they're powerless to help me. They can only replace my bin with a large one. I don't want it. I will do everything in my power to get my condo association to eliminate your services. I'm so disappointed in you. Your yearly compensation of $9.84M is simply a waste. Just imagine how MUCH MORE MONEY you could make if you ran a GREAT company!

Please do not use this company. We had them for 4 years because we were under contract. Our bill more than doubled from when we signed till we were out of contract. We now pay less than we originally paid with them for a nicer dumpster with a new company. The customer service here is really sad. They pulled over $400 out of our acct after cancellation and removing auto pay. Peter our rep was extremely difficult to track down and then always had a reason it was someone else’s fault. Save yourself time and frustration, hold companies to higher standards.

So disappointed and frustrated with this company. We have been dealing with all this for over a year now. Our trash constantly gets "MISSED" and will pile up. Week after week we put out our cans only to have to bring them back in again. It all started after we complained the driver made my pregnant wife pull the cans across the street if we wanted them to be picked up. After that it will go weeks no pick up. And we have a very large family and we create to much trash and having to constantly bring back in the trash we put outside is literally burying us alive. Also on multiple occasions on bulk day we try to put out a little extra to try and get rid of some of this trash instead of taking the bulk they empty the can and then put the bulk back in the bins its ridiculous. This last trash day the bins were out and my wife happened to be outside checking the mail when the truck showed up the driver and my wife made eye contact and the he proceeded to pick up the bin from the neighbor on my left skipped over ours and picked up neighbor on the right. My wife went running after them to ask to please pick up the trash she could saw him looking at her thru the side mirror but would not stop. We have called multiple times made multiple reports it keeps happening. We are feeling very targeted and bullied. The last supervisor we talked to who apparently is over the drivers ,or so we were told, was extremely rude kept cutting me off after i tried to say anything and told me i should never stop the truck and literally hung up on me, no apology, no explanation, nothing. This is noway to run a company or treat your customers. Also it took us from August to November for them to replace our broken bins that, somehow, got broken during this last year. Very disappointed.

Republic was sent a termination notice July 31, 2023, effective August 31st. It's now September 18th - over 45 days since the termination was given. Dumpsters are still onsite because they continue to "escalate" calls and no one seems to care enough to return a simple phone call. I've talked with 12 people in the last 3 weeks trying to get their large dumpsters from the property. Don't use this company unless you want to be continually ignored. They would have been fired much sooner had we known these issues would arise.

I had the service with RP for a few years until the beginning of this year that I noticed their fee increased by almost 70%. Ib called to cancel the service and they refused to cancel the service and keep charging men for the service even though I have service with another company, they refused to remove their dumpster. Be very careful with this company. Read the contract especially the fine print. To me, they are very dishonest and use all kinds of tricks to lure customers in and when one does not pay attention to the monthly bills, they Jack up the fees.

3/21/23 UPDATE: We sold our building and I have been trying to cancel our service for over 2 weeks now. Just like the review below, no return calls, no responses at all. I have talked to at least 5 people, filled out the various forms they sent me and nothing. The truck still showed up yesterday and they are trying to charge me for it. I keep telling them that technically they are trespassing, but they just don't care. Awful business practice. Previous review: Just terrible service. Customer support people are courteous and responsive. The people in the field could care less. We have requested extra pick up and are willing to pay the extra fee, but they never come. We have trash piling up for weeks now. Their execution sucks.

This company should remove the term "Services" from it's name as it is anything but a service provider. Seven out the last 8 weeks it failed to pick up our trash. After failed promises of "we are solving our staffing and equipment maintenance problems", we canceled our service. Since we have paid 3 months in advance, we requested that we be reimbursed for services not provided. We have been told to expect a check in 8-10 weeks, YES, Weeks. OK, let's see what happens regarding the refund. So now that we have canceled our service, we have been waiting 10 days for Republic to pick up their empty trash and recycling containers. Please note we emptied the Republic containers into the containers of our new trash and recycling firm (WM). The empty Republic containers have been sitting in front of our home for 10 days under the promise of tomorrow they will be the pick-up. Every day they container removal will be tomorrow. Guess Republic doesn't want its containers back as I write this the containers are still sitting in the driveway. My neighbors are not pleased. Well, today I called once again only to be told that our account has been closed out. By the way, Republic operates in a manner that attempts to isolate their management at all levels from direct customer contact. Very customer friendly oriented! This is a publicly traded company; their shareholders are in serious trouble. This company is service provider that doesn't understand what the term service means. I should know as I was a service provider executive for 44 years. I would have been terminated if I was as unresponsive to my customers' needs as the executives of Republic.

Republic services has the worst customer service! Our experience was with the account rep Francisco Arayuo and his manager Brenna Sanchez. We took over the management of a property in March/April 2020, my assistant contacted Republic trash to get details on the current services because the owners were really unhappy with the service provided at the property and requested that we get quotes from other vendors. She spoke with Francisco at Republic Trash and he provided her with a quote. After reviewing the quote and comparing it to 2 other vendors, Republic was the highest priced and provided the worst service out of the 3 vendors so we decided to go with another vendor who has been our trash vendor at other properties we manage. After providing Republic trash 30 days cancellation notice. Francisco then let us know that we were in contract until 2021! Why did he not tell us when we called initially?? Or is it Republic's policy to quote people and disregard letting them know they had an existing agreement? It was very deceptive. What made it worse was after we brought this up to Francisco and his manager Brenna, they blatantly denied that they did anything wrong. Since we already signed a new agreement with the new vendor, we cannot get out of the contract. However, Republic Trash is claiming liquidated damages even though this could have all been avoided had their rep simply acknowledged there was an agreement already in place, we would have continued with their poor service until the agreement was up. Francisco repeatedly would not provide Brenna's manager info and nothing has been resolved because he claims he owns the company and can make the decisions for the company. He contacted me to let me know that there is no one else for me to speak with about this and hung up on me. We have made attempts to call the corporate office however that number does not work. This company is the absolute worse when it comes to customer service and care less about their customers once they sign an agreement. It is not about make a sale but keeping the clients that is already there! I do not recommend this company and have pulled all the agreements that have come due. We have only 1 property left with Republic Trash and will be switching the moment it expires!

My card is charged each month and service is paid for. However, since October they have not picked up my trash. Finally after 3 weeks it was serviced even though I called every week. I must Still call each week because they wont pick it up?? Bill is paid! Same response: we will look into this. Solution: NOTHING!! Not even a phone call! Who operates like that?? I would like a job, I will take less pay and make sure customers are treated as if they matter and get what they pay for. Absolutely unacceptable. Republic should be embarrassed and ashamed of this allowed behavior!
