I used this facility today for the first time, I got there a little early so I walked to the office, knocked on the door and they let me in. They were in the middle of a morning safety meeting and took the time to answer my questions and help me out. The operators in each area gave me very specific directions on where to go and what to do with my different metals. With their yard being an ever moving and expanding unit there is no real signage, with that they do a really good job of approaching you and making you feel comfortable. Going to a new place can always be intimidating, specially when there is excavators and other large pieces of equipment. I have experienced in other environments like this where the operators were gruff, inpatient, rude, and expected you to know where to go and what to do. Here at ASR I experienced the opposite, everyone was very nice and accommodating to me the newbie. It was very convenient to bring my old trampoline parts and monkey bar parts here for free rather than pay a bunch of money to take it to the dump.
Extremely unprofessional help (or lack of it) from the three yard workers in the back where they accept copper and precious metals. Very rude to us. When we first arrived, they told us that as long as we separated everything into brass and copper piles, they would buy it. After watching us unload the truck and then load the brass up onto the scale, the employee then waited until then to tell us that they don't buy any brass and that they won't be buying it. When not 5 minutes prior we were told specifically that they would. The young gentleman working in the backyard has an extremely unpleasant attitude, and I would absolutely not recommend taking anything here. Far better options to use. I will never be giving them repeat business again.
they were helpful. although when i arrived with 50lbs of bright copper they informed me they only take bulk of over 300lbs, they still processed what i had to give them but no where on their website does it say anything about a minimum weight accepted. because i looked…also they paid 3.20 for bright copper on 6/14/24 three stars because i accomplished what i was trying to do but removed stars because of the bulk weight issue
Overall, great place. Deff. not out of business & helpful staff. Alot of people suggest low balled prices... If the market goes down, scrap prices go down. Seperate your different commodities to maximize your money. Ask questions before you sell. Make sure you understand what you will be paid for and what you wont be paid for.
Friendly folks, I think they’re as good or better as any in the state. Brought several hundred dollars worth of copper and old electric motors in, they cut me a check on the spot and even thanked me for stacking it nicely.
Great service, in and out! The guys there will remove the items from your vehicle and they pay pretty close to the daily spot price of the metal you bring in. For example I brought in aluminum cans. Prior to coming I checked the the current spot price witch was 63cents per lb, they paid me 60cents per lb which I feel is pretty fair due to them weighing the cans with the bags I brought them in.
First time there today. They gave me 42¢ per pound for some ~1cm copper cable with the insulation on it. Pretty quick in and out, even with lots going on. The directions for where to take the copper were not 100% clear, but it only took me a minute or two to find it inside the shop. Obviously I wouldn't have had that problem regardless if it wasn't my first time.
Got extremely low balled on the price, which I expected! What I did not expect was not being able to cash the check!!!!! Who ever is handing out the check is not authorized to do so!
