What clients say about AutoZone Auto Parts in Anchorage (AK)
Had to have another store order in the parts I needed for this location. But when I got here they didn’t have the parts and several employees were confused despite seeing the receipt that I had paid. After the young man couldn’t find the parts, he handed me off to another employee. A lot of costumers waiting for help despite the most employees I’ve ever seen at an Autozone location.
Hire employees that have had experience with engines or mechanical or ANY experience in the area. I spent 5 minutes explaining the difference between a fuse and a relay switch to my "parts expert" then had to show them how to look up a part number. I pulled up the part on google faster, and then had to walk them through how to find the part number and suprise, you didn't have it.
Ron at the Old Seward store wass very helpful and got me taken care of even when i didn’t have a receipt handy for one of my items, we got it returned without further issue and he also took care of a warranty item with a quickness. He was very nice and helpful!!!
I picked up a couple things over here at the Old Seward Highway, AutoZone and overall the customer Service was amazing, Paul helped me out and helped me with a improper priced item. Overall amazing customer service and I think Paul for helping me out today, I prefer this AutoZone over any other.
This is by far the best location in Anchorage. Richard and Ben specifically were incredible in the customer service they provided to me. They were knowledgeable and helpful. Congratulations to AutoZone for having such wonderful team members.
Man buying auto parts can be complicated, autozone takes care of that in alaska by having some of the best customer service and friendly employees willing to go the extra mile. I recommend the old Seward location as most of the time they have what I'm looking for, ask for my man Ron who is their ITTA specialist, he'll have you getting your DIY project finished with the right gear, parts, and helpful tips to help zip your car up and back on the road. All the guys at this location are always great and make sure you're taken care of, here's a personal thank you for your hard work and dedication as a team to keep stress off your chest. Cheers fellas!
I was told by someone unaffiliated that they would help me change my battery, so it was disappointing that they wouldn't do that. Effectively left me stranded with a dead battery and the only option available being to rent tools from them and replace it myself. I was lucky that a customer was nice enough to lend a hand. I suppose there's no obligation on their end to help replace a battery, but the staff there all seem incompetent. Maybe I'm setting too high of a bar, but I would assume staff at an auto parts store would know how to change a battery. Also turns out they don't accept returns on some items even if they were never used. I doubt I'll shop here again if I can help it.
The one thing they did to redeem themselves somewhat in my eyes was when the manager gave me a partial return for the core of my now dead battery. As it so happens, the core return is tied to the specific card that you used to buy the battery, so since the card had been lost and subsequently deactivated, I was not eligible to receive the return. The store manager gave me some store credit which I'll most likely never use, which was pretty cool of him to do. In the end the store won though. They got my money and left me disappointed.
As the kids say, not very skibidi. : )
Paul was a true scholar and a gentleman. He helped install my battery with no problem. He knew his way around an engine and installed my battery nd was very professional. Auto zone should be very lucky to have an employee as such. Thank you again Paul for your outstanding service. I salute you. 🙏🫡
Chatted with David on the phone (10/10 funny AND helpful) about a battery. Showed up 30 minutes later and chatted with the owner (10/10 person AND manager). Riley braved the 10degree temps and popped that sucker in my car in under 15 mins (10/10 cold tolerance AND helpful)!
Thanks, team.
Cheaper than O'Reilly, with limited options its alright. Had mostly good knowledgeable customer service, which has been super handy on occasion. If you have the time to spare, ordering online is less costly, if not than better than nothing?
My 2014 Toyota Rav4started acting up out of nowhere the day after Christmas and i thought I probably needed a new battery or a starter. I was driving by after work at 9:15pm when I saw that they were open so I swung in and Brandon instantly asked what he could help me with. I described the issues and he had some ideas of what it could be then came out to my car to run the diagnostic codes. It came up that the issue was the auxiliary battery and besides printing the result out so I could take it to the mechanic, he explained how it all worked in layman’s terms so I could wrap my head around what was going on. He was incrediblely helpful on top of eagerly willing to help!! I am so grateful!! Thank you!!
The store manager just wasted 45 minutes of my time and denied to sell me the products ( around 500$) just because I told him to just put something on the PO. I have commercial account so usually I don’t deal with him.
He insisted on my name and I didn’t like that, so he didn’t sell me the parts.
Unprofessional, arrogant, unapologetic and disrespectful poor soul. I feel sorry for the guys that work with him. What a bad example for the workers and the company.
I really think he was profiling me. I have very heavy accent.
I went to the other store on Dimond a got everything I wanted.
April was immediately helpful, was invested in finding the part I needed, and when the part came up at another location, she had it brought to my AutoZone store. Also she was friendly, and I can’t understate how valued friendly service is. Thanks April!
Brandon was very helpful when I came in for a tire inflator. Not only was he knowledgeable about the different product specs, he also knew which one would work best for my needs and vehicle. I was in and out in 3 minutes. Thank you Brandon.
Employees were arguing bout a motor in back. Was not trying to help customers in the front. This was on September 30th 2024 the manager was cussing out back. Literally was ignoring customers for 15-20mins… She a dark skin lady couldn’t tell if she was Mexican or Dominican. Be more professional in the future smh. Sad
If you're picking up stuff that the store has on-hand, this is a great store. Most of the staff is polite and helpful, and get you in and out without fuss.
But God help you if you try to order anything from here. I'll put it this way: If this store had been responsible for the logistics of the 1928 Serum Run, everyone in Nome would have died of diphtheria, the dog teams would have never been heard from again, and the organizers would have lost all records of having them sent out in the first place.
Three--count 'em--THREE TIMES, I have had to order parts from this store (it's a hub store, and as I understand it, it's the main hub for the whole state), paying up front every time, and every single time, what ordinarily would have been a week or two wait has turned into wait times of well over a month before I get the part(s) I purchased. Adding insult to injury, every time without fail, when I call the store to inquire as to the status of my order, they lose any and all record of my order/purchase, forcing me to drive all the way down there and present my receipt in person. And even then, they -still- have trouble tracking the order down.
There's a lot of nice people that work here, and I hate that I have to leave this review. The ground-level employees at the counter are not at fault, and I do not blame them for this problem. Whoever is in charge of tracking orders, though, needs to get slapped with an oosik at terminal velocity.
TL;DR: If you come to this store for a part and they tell you they're going to have to order it, walk away and order it from somewhere else. You'll likely get the part sooner, be able to track it the entire way, and if you have issues, the other vendor won't lose the records of your purchase.
there is an employee here named Brian I believe who is clearly racist. I know this because I heard him make derogatory remarks about natives when he did not think anyone else was in the store but his other co worker (I am not native, but of color). I've had this same employee accuse me of switching out the contents of a bottle I purchased with gasoline. This was corrected when I had to buy another of the same product to have everyone smell and he just sat there looking cockeyed and dumb. No apologies or admittance that he was wrong. I told the gm about the experience and the racist remarks and he still works there and still has a terrible attitude so that's how seriously the issue was taken. I've stayed away from this store since that incident. Today I had to go there because no other AutoZone had what I needed. I watched him be very kind to the person he was helping before me. When it became my turn he was suddenly visually annoyed. I asked him about price matching with the website. He gave me a smart response. He tells me I have the wrong item as he checks the item number. I ask if he has the one I'm looking for and he huffs and puffs as though he's being so inconvenienced. He brings me an item that was incorrect. I try to show him and he tells me "well ma'am that's what the item says it is". I point out obvious differences and he dumbly says well if people would put thing back in the right spot. So he was super thorough in making sure I had the correct item number but when he goes to get the item he doesn't double check? no because he didn't care. He ended up telling me he couldn't find the item and obviously I don't believe him. He is very dismissive, unpleasant, and clearly prejudice. This is how desperate AutoZone is for workers.
We left the store a total of 2 minutes ago and felt the need to immediately write a raving review for Bran S. He came out to help us assemble an accessory, selflessly brought out his own tools and had the most caring and kind personality! The picture of exceptional customer service, we cant say enough good things!
I mean!! Jack H was an excellent help at the old Seward location, gathering all the items we needed. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with information on products we inquired about. Happy customers! Thanks Jack!
I love this store. I used to live near here and they were my go-to. I like to do the repairs and maintenance myself when I can. When I moved to another part of town I ended up going to NAPA since they were closer. I was replacing a headlight on a particularly cold day and was having trouble getting the old one off. I asked NAPA if the assist with replacing the part and they said no. So I returned the part and went across town to buy it here. AutoZone offered more selections to me along with the assistance to get the light replaced. I am very happy and will always drive out of the way to support this store.
