I have used them a number of times for easy/oil change type jobs, moderately difficult work, and big stuff on an older car I maintain (think full transmission replacement in an older vehicle). They do a great job. Period. They are professional, will get back to you with a quote. They will tell you things that are really necessary; certainly things that they notice that are creating risk/things-to-keep-an-eye-on. Also, I bought my tires from them and they did all of my mounting, balance and alignment. When I get my oil change there, they do my tire rotations. Plus they are local community folks. I recommend them to anyone looking for a good local mechanic shop. My bottom line review is: They do a good job and you can walk in the door and trust them to get honesty and professional feedback.
I have been using J & D Auto Tire Service for the past couple of years. A few days ago I had brake pads and rotors replaced on my Acura MDX and had my tires rotated there. Very satisfied with the price and the service. I had an appointment and they took my vehicle right on into the shop as soon as I got there. I was told it was estimated to be a couple of hours which it turned out to be pretty much the exact amount of time I had to wait. I sat in a very comfortable Lounge watching TV and those two hours past quickly. I highly recommend J&D Auto Tire Service for all your vehicle needs.
I had a flat repaired in the neighboring county. It lasted less than 30 minutes before going flat and ruining the sensor and stem. We limped into J&D Auto on a damaged flat. They replaced it and had us back on the road in about 20 minutes.
I had two jobs done at J&D. AC replaced and an oil pan gasket on a 1999 Chevy S10. You're talking a lot of work for that oil pan gasket. They did fantastic work on both. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend them for your auto repairs. Price was right on both jobs too.
Jimmy was TOP NOTCH …. We’re just traveling through alternator went out and he was able to change it On the spot!!!! We’re back on the road…. I wish we had somebody like this close to JASPER…. Don’t go anywhere else…
I stopped in because I got a flat tire on my road trip home to Ohio, from Panama City Florida. They were able to help me immediately, and had us back on the road in about an hour! Great service and friendly staff!
We were Travelling to FL from TN and my Mercedes started shuddering. They had it diagnosed as a coil issue, ordered a part and had it installed in 2 hours. They were SO nice, had snacks and super clean. Would highly recommend!
We get most of our vehicle serviced here. Very knowledgeable, polite, and professional staff. Plus, they have chocolate covered raisins which is the real reason I like it there so much lol

The people that work here and run this tire shop are literally a godsend! This morning while I left my house in Huntsville Alabama to take my severely autistic and nonverbal son to treatment in Birmingham. I did not anticipate having to have an issue with my tire. While I was in route, all of a sudden my tire pressure Was gone. I was literally an hour from home and an hour away from our destination… I was scared and worried as my son was having a full meltdown. I found this location and not only did they take care of the issue… They were kind and compassionate and Had me in and out less than 15 minutes. When I asked how much that they God I mean it. I would recommend this place anywhere as someplace that you can trust and respect and kindness. Thank you so much did some thing that I’m sure it was very small but was something that I needed to see the kindness people today that made a huge impact. Thank you!!
We are heading to Florida from Cincinnati for vacation. So we are not from around here. But I pulled into J and D with no clue what was wrong with my car. They were able to find the problem, get the part, and fixed it and had me back on the road in two hours! Thank you Kelly and Jimmy! I appreciate the great job you did, for a fair price!
We were on our way to a funeral and blew a hose on the radiator. J & D helped get us towed into the shop and completed the repairs the same day. Very friendly and helpful. Recommend them completely.
June 20, 2023 - I was driving from Kentucky to Florida. My car is a 2008 Toyota Camry so older but well maintained. All of a sudden, I could tell something was wrong. It was missing. I'm halfway between home and my destination so I was a little apprehensive about needing assistance in an unknown place but I had no other option.
I asked the first person I saw where he took his vehicle to and he gave me J&D's number. I called and spoke to Jimmy. He did let me know he could run the codes but wouldn't be able to work on it until the next day. Thankfully, I was able to get there. He tested it and said all six cylinders were missing but there were no codes. Then he asked me if I got gas recently. I told him yes & where. He put fuel conditioner in to temper the bad gas & gave me the rest of it to put in before I filled up again. He charged me $33. Y'all! I'm so thankful it wasn't anything more wrong with my car but I would definitely trust him to work on my car. Straightforward, asked questions, gave honest feedback and expectations.
I appreciate them highly they got my truck Wednesday and got it up and going I time for me to leave out of town 10 star for me it helps knowing I will be able to run service properly again
Got a flat on our way home and came in for a quick repair before closing. The front office was very professional and service was done quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of services in the area.
J&D is the best for local auto maintenance needs. They are very honest and the prices are reasonable. They’ve worked on four of my vehicles and even fixed the tires for my ATV. We will continue to use them as often as needed.
These folks are great! I was dreading a huge bill for repairing my air conditioner..turned out it was a very clogged air intake filter! $15 to replace.
Taken my vehicle's to J&D 3 times since shop up the road closed. I should have been using these guys to begin with. Friendly staff. Owners are nice and professional. Prices are reasonable. Will recommend to friends and family.
Shop in decatur quoted me a ridiculous amount for lower ball joints and an alignment, J&D did both and changed my oil for half the price. Won't be doing buisness anywhere else.
Long story, short, I had trouble on I65 and found them not far from the exit.
I was essentially stranded.
They were busy, which was a good sign.
One they got to my car, they quickly got it going again.
Best of all, I got an honest and fair price when lesser people could've really taken me.

Had radiators replaced in my F-250 and everything done was professional and timely. Also had my jeep worked on there and they found the issues and repaired it. Costs are very reasonable.
If I could give them ten stars, I would! They fixed the impossible electrical issue with my husband's truck AND repaired a bad cambering job done by a Ford dealership. These guys are the real deal. Got a nail in our tire on a road trip back to MN from FL. They got us in right away and patched us up for $20. Everyone was very friendly and the waiting room was AC’d, clean, and well decorated. Relieved and grateful for the service.
I mean.. went to see them about a problem. All they did was say what they thought it was and that they were far to busy to consider fixing it. 🙄 turns out it wasnt even close to what "they thought" they acted as though my vehicle wasnt good enough for them to inspect or work on. I was more then willing to pay whatever I needed but now I wouldnt spend a dime with them. What's worse is someone actually recommended them. Dont waste your time with these "mechanics" I dont think they care about the quality of their work or how their customers are treated.
Disappointed. Had car over 2 weeks when all parts were supplied. Returned car 3 times for original repairs. Parts were installed incorrectly. Decided to cut my losses. Mechanics are not thorough. Overall, nice owners, as owner did admit mistakes from his mechanics. Mechanics displayed poor work.
Relatively new auto service in Dodge City, AL, but the folks here certainly know their stuff!! Some of the best mechanics you could ever hope for and professional, friendly and courteous service all the way around. Top notch in every way.
Rolled over a nail left in the driveway by some tree workers, came out at 7am to a flat. Got it inflated and drove right there without even calling ahead. Turns out the nail was in the side so a repair wasn't an option, they had a suitable used replacement to get me on the road again for $30. Ill need new tires in about 10K miles, I'll be getting them there. They put 4 American made 50,000 mile tires on my daughter's car for less than $600, and free rotations. Highly recommend.
