Huge 2 story thrift store with stuff ranging from furniture to clothes and everything in between. It seems like each section is a different vendor and some cycle inventory more than others but definitely worth checking out.
I am writing this review to warn local collectors and parents about the inventory practices at The Junk Trunk.
The local Pokémon TCG market has been completely disrupted because this individual/business is clearly engaging in scalping. They appear to be buying up all available retail stock in the area only to resell it themselves at an extremely high markup.
Because of this practice, genuine collectors and people who just want to buy a pack or a new product for the enjoyment of the hobby are unable to find anything locally at a reasonable price. What should be readily available at standard retail prices is instead being funneled directly into this store and marked up significantly.
If you are looking to buy Pokémon cards at fair market value or are trying to find the latest releases, do not waste your time here. This behavior is frustrating and ruins the hobby for the local community. I urge others to look for alternative, community-focused stores that support fair pricing and accessible inventory for everyone.
Had a box of Fall/Halloween decor items, some still new, from downsizing. Called the store and asked if they'd accept them. They said to bring them by and let them have a look. A few days later stopped by the store and told the gentleman at the desk I had a box in the vehicle for him to look at. Without hesitation, he said he wasn't interested because Fall/Halloween items didn't sell.
Felt like a classic bait and switch. Lied on the phone to get you in the store, only to not even look at the items and probably hoping you'd see something in the store to buy while you were there. I walked out and the store is now dead to me. I would've been happy if he covered my cost in gas to drive the items over and instead I left furious that they wasted my time.
Lots of nice antiques, collectibles and sports cards. However there is no public restrooms and the closest one is across two street and down over the hill. NOT friendly for people with disabilities and mobility issues.
This man saying he’s a distributor of Pokemon cards is absolutely hilarious. I watched this man just now in Walmart stand at the door rush in as soon as it opened and take everything off the shelves. Now sir tell me I’m wrong because we know I am not.
Yeah I don’t work for Walmart. I watched you in the toy section clear the shelves. Maybe you were too busy worried about getting it all you didn’t see me. And for the other people who got stuff it was like 2 tins so I guess thanks for leaving some for others to purchase.
Don’t take this place serious as a card shop. The owner David camps outside of Walmart every morning and scalps the Pokemon product. People like David are ruining the hobby.
Great selection of antiques, the shop owners, Dave and his Wife are friendly and very polite. I love the constant change in inventory. It's nice to have an antique store in the area that has antiques and not artisan crafts. Also it's wonderful to see an owner who is constantly updating and repairing the building they are in. Highly recommend!
I am visiting from South Carolina and had a local tell me about you carrying vinyl. I stopped by and WOW what a great selection! I will be back on my visits. Fair prices and very good selection for every taste in music.
Have it on good authority they send out a group of people to buy all pokemon cards in the tri county area. Finally went to fourhorseman and they had tons of singles in inventory. I'm guessing you guys cant sell packs at 3x price so u opened and sold the singles to 4horseman. I love not being able to buy 2 packs of cards when I get paid because of scalping grifters. I hope u lose all your money. / you are not a serious buisness or person if you are responding to a review with "LOL". You are a child. Get off reddit. Stop ruining hobbies for kids. Selfish.
Large store with an upstairs area and many things to look at. Often the individual booths will offer discounts on their items.We stop by at least once a month to check it out.
Look no further if you wanted pokemon cards and all the stores are out heres why claims to have vendor (lie) literally runs to all stores as they open buys whole shelf then resells at x3 retail even for scalpers its ridiculous don’t buy from let them sit on it completely ruins the hobby.
Definitely someone going to Walmart and paying the actual price for Pokémon cards and selling it for 10 times more is crazy. I absolutely know that because you came in yesterday and they just put it out and then you want to take it and sell it way over MSRP. Out of control scalper if you ask me and honestly that’s disgusting for us. I’m an avid Pokémon card collector and there is only two places around here where I can get cards and this is not one of them after seeing these prices.
Large vendor selection and most are reasonably priced. The sports cards though are not. In particular the new Pokemon. Charging double MSRP to take advantage of the scarcity is ridiculous. I don't play or collect the game but noticed their prices. Then there's charging 1.00 a pack for the NBA Hoops Halloween packs or 40 a box for above retail. Then there's the 3 percent fee to use cards.
I love going to this store to see the vast array of unique items they have. Because they definitely have something for everyone. The gentleman who owns the store is a very polite and knowledgeable. If he doesn't have what you're looking for he is always willing to help you find it. If you're looking for a special antique or maybe you just want to find that knick knack that grandma use to have. Then I would highly recommend that you stop in and see what this awesome store has to offer!!!
I like this store but it’s not my favorite. They do have tons of different things for everyone. The stairs are not fun going up or down. I find the prices are bit too much on most the items I’m interested in so I never buy much
All kinds of merchandise. You name it, it's probably there. But there is a major issue, most is overpriced. You're probably going to find it cheaper online on eBay or Mercari. A few vendors have their prices on point. You have antiques, vinyl, movies, glassware, comics, cards, books, and the list goes on. All kinds of singles cards and older cards, but also a lot of current retail offerings. If prices could get in check store wide, this place would be place worth visiting frequently. Until then, a couple of times a year is more than enough. There is a lot of potential here.
Very wide variety of items. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's worthwhile to stop by and take a look. Don't be afraid to ask exactly what you are looking for ,they just might know of something hidden.
I called and put a deposit down on a piece of furniture to hold it until I could arrange a pickup 2 days later. I was told that it would be marked sold and held for me. After driving an hour to get there, I was informed that the piece of furniture was already given to another customer earlier that morning. My deposit plus an additional amount was returned but it was a major inconvenience to have organized the pickup just to find my furniture was gone.
Just found out about this location -- they recently added a second floor to their already spacious antique and flea retail space. Many unique finds with competitive pricing. This is our new first stop when we thrift in Fairmont
Very nice little shop with very very good prices for antiques. This is my first time going there and I will definitely be a repeat customer. I must say it was also very clean and organized. This huge antique spinning wheel was only 50 bucks!
I've always found something unique & beautiful. They also work with local artists letting them sale their work there. How amazing is that! The prices are fair. The staff is very friendly & will help with any questions you may have. Very clean & organized store. I highly recommend this store ?
This is a great shop. The best I have been in in some time. No weird old creepy guy who is trying to milk you for every dollar they can get out of you or some young kid who thinks his Mac Jones is a lottery ticket. It’s a business so you will pay slightly above the going value, but fair. I am able to find a deal pretty much every time I go in there. I really enjoy doing business there.
