Since the court matter has now concluded, I wanted to share my personal experience with Waterfront Towing in Fairmont, WV.
On April 9th, I was involved in a vehicle accident on Grafton Road, and the State Police called Waterfront Towing to tow my vehicle.
The following day, I contacted Waterfront Towing because I needed to retrieve my personal belongings from my vehicle. I was told that I would have to either provide $300 and my vehicle title or pay the full tow bill, which was over $600, in order to retrieve my belongings.
When I questioned this, the interaction became confrontational. My mother and ex attempted to ask questions and help me understand the situation, but they refused to speak with anyone other than me. I also requested an itemized bill and was initially told that I would not receive one until the tow bill was paid.
The next day, I believe, I contacted them again and was provided an itemized bill. However, the bill was in my ex’s name, even though I was the owner of the vehicle. When I asked why his name was on the bill, I was told that they had found his tax documents inside my vehicle.
Those documents were inside a sealed envelope, and I had not given permission for anyone to open or go through them.
I spent approximately a month trying to get my personal belongings back. Eventually, I had law enforcement meet me at the tow yard, and I was finally allowed to retrieve my belongings. At that point, I signed over the vehicle title and retrieved my property.
Shortly afterward, I received notice that Waterfront Towing was taking me to court over the tow/storage charges. The court matter has now concluded.
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this company. I found the communication and treatment I received to be extremely unprofessional, and I was very unhappy with how the situation was handled from beginning to end.
I’m sharing this so that other people can make an informed decision about who they choose to handle their vehicle after an accident.
They are very caring and they want to do the right thing by you and help anyway they can and very reliable im very satisfied and I can't thank them all enough in fairmont i highly recommend thank you guys you go above and beyond sincerely Amy
I wish I could give a zero. Do not use this tow company. They are crooked and they are trying to screw over our children. They are practicing illegal methods. My daughter had to have the state police assist her on getting her personal belongings when they towed her car after an accident because they tried to bully her into her title of her car plus 300 and wouldn't let her get her personal belongings which is illegal. The tow bill was 700 the next day for towing a car with minor front end damage. When the police came they let her get her personal belongings because it is illegal for them to keep them. She signed her title for her car over to cover the tow bill and now a week and a half later they are trying to sue my daughter for 900 after she gave them the title to her car. DO NOT be ripped off by these criminals.
I had a flat tire on the side of the road during construction on the interstate and Waterfront Towing came by to see how I was doing and changed my spare! Very fast, efficient, and friendly!
Company constantly tows the wrong car. Maybe if they hired people with an IQ above freezing they would actually tow the right car and not leave someone who lives in an apartment complex carless. Probably won’t give me anything in the morning when I point out that they towed a legally parked car. Even though they wasted my time and money. My ten year old nephew would do a better job in his tricycle.
I had to use roadside assistance and Allstate arranged for Waterfront to tow my car. They were fast, friendly, and professional. I would definitely use this company again.
Great people that care about doing things right. They take their time with the vehicles and make sure no damage occurs. Friendly staff and quick response time.
Very fast and friendly I was stranded on interstate I called my insurance and Mark showed up with in 30 minutes and had me back on the road and no time
My experience with their mechanic has turned into an absolute nightmare. I had them replace my starter and about 3 weeks later it wouldn't start and I had to have it towed back to them to tighten a wire they didn't tighten enough themselves when they installed it. Now about a month later the new starter they installed again for some reason is failing me. These things never happen at convenient time and places. I cannot put into words the grief this has now caused me. Missed days at work, now a hotel room and I'm broke down 100 miles away from them this time. A tow to them for them to fix their mistake again will cost me 400. They seem like good people but I would never trust them with my car repairs. I just got off the phone with them. I have to pay for all towing and repairs for the starter they installed 3 months ago and they are not even willing to do the part warranty for me. I have to do all that myself. Do not trust thess people with your money. That do not care about you.
Very professional and customer oriented. The dispatcher was friendly and helpful. The driver was very knowledgeable and easy to talk too. I will definitely be using their services again, when in need.
Called Geico this morning and they dispatched Waterfront Towing. They were there very quickly and reassured my college kid when they took her beloved BMW to the repair shop. She said the guy was so friendly and even gave her a ride back to The Domain where she lives. Great and Friendly service.
