My car broke down on I-68 at night and they were quick to respond. The guy who arrived was extremely helpful and patient when I was trying to find a ride.
I was contacted the next morning and the lady I spoke with was so kind! She walked me through the insurance process and helped me tremendously.

Went there Thursday 6/5/25 had a bunch of rotors,3 steel wheels, radiators and a load of lose leaf car parts a few lawn mowers and weedeaters. They had some young kid in there unloaded all my metal in one pile. Instead of separating my rotors ,radiators and other scrap i was paid for all shred. Once mentioned in the office nothing was done but $11 more added to my total. Place is a joke and I know damn well I had more than $44 in metal I will not return if I broke down in the parkinglot id push my vehicle off the property. I had more than the $44 just in rotors ill go to 3 rivers iron and metal from now on.
Bates Recycling Rocks The Fairmont Yard is conveniently located from either Fairmont or Morgantown and in either direction it’s just a couple of minutes from aI I-79 exit. The lady that operates the scales is always friendly and makes sure you get your name in the jar for their monthly drawing The guy’s that will direct you in to where they want you to off load are always super busy so don’t bother them anymore than is necessary but if you have a legitimate question or problem they will be happy to answer any questions they can or try to find the answer for you but really those guys are always short handed and doing their damnest to do their job so if you don’t have to trouble them try not to if it’s something heavy you need help with no worries they will see that and help you out as soon as they can get to you don’t be one of those who thinks they should have to drop everything they are doing to help you and you’ll have one of the easiest scrap runs possible at Bates Recycling
