Complete liars! I’ve been through hell between can being thrown in the creek then want to charge me to come remove can THEY threw that I RENT off of them. I filed a complaint, next week my can is completely missing. Cameras show their pick up truck picking my 90 gallon can up even with bill paid in full. I called them, no one can explain why and they bring a new 90 gallon can that is half the size of can they stole. They now argue with me that this can is 90 gallon and it’s can they took from my home…. Except my house number I wrote on bottom of can isn’t there, the crack from falling 10 feet off wall into creek isn’t there, and can only measures the size of a 45 gallon can. I’ve spoke to managers, different offices, and email chain…. No one wants to make the situation right! They just keep saying “the local office reports they returned your can” “ they never carried 90 gallon cans” But I had one, I’m paying for one, and they claimed this was one until I sent measurement pics. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

They never pick up trash in the winter, they have stopped providing communication about when trash pick up is delayed, they won’t give you a credit when they don’t pick up the trash even though I pay for a service to be done weekly, and customer service is some of the most incompetent and unhelpful I have ever had to deal with. And I’ve had to deal with them a lot because they never tell us when our trash is going to be picked up. if you have the option to use a different service at your home or business, do it and save yourself the annoyance. If republic services is reading this, do better and at THE VERY LEAST COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. Only makes sense that trash people run a trash business.

Beware they scam .I am a business owner in fairmont. Their live agents only worry about getting 5 stars after call ends. They over charged me then claim $50.00 fine for late fee for a invoice which would be due after 2 weeks.

The worst service, you call when they miss a pickup, you are on hold for over 30 minutes, then they lie on the phone call. They collect the bill and don't provide the service. I have stayed with this company for years and it has never changed, good weather or bad they miss picking up the trash. I canceled service and the new company is great.

Once again they picked up everyones garbage on Pike Street except ours and this has happened on more than one occassion. When we call them their automated system tells us it was picked up and we're looking outside right at it? So we call in to speak with someone and they say they didn't see our garbage so we move it next to the road. Still can't get them to pick it up. I don't know how this company can stay in business.

These guys are a joke. Last I checked, there are 52 weeks in a year. You would be lucky to have them pick up your waste a mere 30 of those weeks. I have absolutely no clue how they are still in business. Oh, yea...because they will consistently miss your trash and make excuses all year round...but they NEVER forget to bill you. They're prompt with that. Trash service. No pun intended. Republic...you've missed my trash now for over a month. Please save your disingenuous apology message. Just come pick up my trash... Thank you.

Due to city contract forced to used republic. They barely come to get our trash IN TOWN once a month. When you call to let them know they missed you, they tell you they will get you next week. It’s been a month and they still won’t come and get my residential trash. But city of Morgantown collects the weekly trash pickup fee. Now on hold for over 40 minutes trying to get the services I have paid for.

I have been using Republic Services for roll offs for my business regularly, and I must say that Rita and her team have been exceptional in their service. If you love not having your trash picked up to then oh boy is the right company for you. As you can see by the other reviews, this service provider greatly struggles with routine pickup, sometimes for multiple consecutive weeks. It began to be a game of, I wonder if we will get pickup this week or not. We have switched trash companies as thankfully there was another option in our area. If you have the option to switch I would highly recommend doing the same.

If I could give you a 0 star I would. I had two beach wagons in MY driveway for Walmart to put my groceries in and the garbage men took them. They were not trash and did not look like trash. I have called three times to report this with no results. I talked to one of your drivers and he said anything along the edge of the road they take. These wagons were in MY driveway not with my trash bins!! NO results from this company. I will be calling everyday until this matter is resolved. You need to tell your employees they are not suppose to pick up anything sitting in a persons driveway!! PERIOD!! My cars sit there ..are they going to take my cars?? NO excuses!!

The worst waste service provider I have ever experienced. If you don’t have the “drivers”, “resources”, “drivers”, or “trucks” to pick up trash ONCE per week, why are you even attempting to run a business? This is a repetitive issue that has gone on for much longer than these screenshots indicate. We’re going to try to find a better waste service provider, but they are unfortunately one of the only options in this rural area, leaving their customers with no other option than to put up with repetitively terrible service.

I have lived at this address for over a year. Why have I had to make 3-4 phone calls because they have not once picked up my recycling? Every time I call, they say a supervisor will call me in 24-48 hours and it’s been weeks and no call. They tried blaming it on the weather and I said, “No, you don’t understand. They have NEVER picked it up.” Just put in my last call in, before I give up waiting on that supervisor.

3+ weeks without service for my entire neighborhood. Update in response to company reply: I have emailed numerous times without response. I have called numerous times and keep being told that this week it will happen. The billing department refuses to provide any refund for the unsanitary conditions, unsightlyness, and inconvenience. Update 2: Apparently despite their claims of inclement weather hindering pickup they want customers to do their job for them and drop off trash. Why would I do that if I'm paying you to pick it up and you won't refund me the pickup fee?

How do you suck? Let me count the ways...You have but one job, pick up and dispose of trash. Sometimes it sucks, but that's the job. You post on your website delayed p/u due to holiday, totally understandable. Everyone in the country is being warned of an impending storm beginning the next week. What do you do? Skip the delayed holiday p/u all together. You say "not safe" yet your truck picked trash 50 yards from our house on a snow covered road, but our well maintained street is bypassed. Great. Now, due to the storm at the beginning of the next week, we plan on a possible delay. Again, I pass your truck less than 100 yds for my house on my regular p/u day, but no pick up in our subdivision. We received a voicemail "we will be out working through Saturday to pick up where safe, if we miss you, you will be picked on on regular day". Guess what you pinheads...we just traveled 145 miles through WV, through Charleston, Weston, Clarksburg, Fairmont and Morgantown. Roads (including ours) are wet, no snow. So instead of picking up from customers who you've already passed over for two weeks, you decide to...well, I'm not sure what the hell you did, but now it will be three weeks without trash pick up. Your customer service says there will be credit for missed pick ups (took trash elsewhere), yet no credit given. In the meantime, trash stacks up on the street...three weeks worth. You suck...oh yeah...and this is after an almost 30% rate increase.

i have never felt compelled to leave a negative review before in my life - but this is an exception. we just moved recently and started service with republic. i understand that it’s winter in WV and we don’t have the best road conditions and i obviously dont want anyone to be unsafe, but aside from the delays due to holidays (because i understand everyone deserves to spend holidays with their loved ones) there has been an issue/delay with our trash pick up every. single. week. and after reading some of the other reviews it doesn’t seem like this is just a winter problem. i think maybe one time our trash has gotten picked up on the scheduled day. it’s getting super frustrating having to hoard our trash at our house for days and even a week longer than were supposed to, because our pickup that was supposed to be yesterday got delayed until today, and today i received a message saying it won’t be picked up until our next scheduled pickup which is thursday of next week. so, we haven’t had our trash picked up since last friday (because it was delayed) and we won’t have it picked up again until next thursday. at this point, change the schedule.

Constant missed pickups, no notifications or changes in schedules sent out UNTIL the day of pick up which is way after my trash out. No pick up Nov 20 and 27th. Took my trash to transfer station costing $12. They only would only reimburse $5 as they told me it was not their fault. Today, put out my trash around 7, get a message at 10 they won't be picking up until possibly tomorrow. Trash is out and now animals can now get in it. They can be late or not show up at all and it is not their fault. Also asked about getting notifications earlier and I was told they do not send out notificaitons until the scheduled day of pick up even when they know it will be delayed or not picked up days earlier. Makes not sense, notify us earlier. Looking for other service.

If there was another trash service in my area I would use it. ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE company. No reason that only my trash is consistently missed. And you don't even send someone to pick it up when you schedule a missed pick up. If I could give 0 stars I would 1,000 times.

How hard is it to pick up recycling? Drove past mine to pick up neighbors, then drove past mine again to leave street. Didn't pick up on second chance. Not hidden behind a bush or car, out in plain view. Republic Services strives on being terrible at their service! Not the first time this has happened!

With it being Labor Day on Monday our trash was supposed to be picked up on Tuesday. Didn't happen, so we thought alright maybe it was Wednesday but we put in a missed pickup just in case. It still didn't get picked up. Finally on Thursday we got ahold of a person and was told they're 7 days behind schedule! Seven days??? You cannot be behind 7 days in this business. That just means you accept and expect us to be okay with you picking up trash every other week. Terrible.

Since the price increase the beginning of the year they either don’t show up, a day late, or don’t take everything. I’ve had to call about pick ups for 3 or 4 weeks straight now. Last week they left something in my can so I called the next day asking if they plan on getting everything out if they are just picking and choosing what to take now (on an unlimited bag plan, btw) and was told it was scheduled next day (Friday). I called Friday morning to confirm they were getting it (not reliable) and was told yes and on the schedule. IT is now Monday, they haven’t picked up Wednesday yet. Every week I’ve been getting a delayed service e mail. 8/7/24 update. Received call 2 days ago that someone in billing sent my refund check to a location an he away that I’ve never been associated with. I’ve only had the address I’m currently living. When I called the next day, I’m told it will be escalated. Today, after 4 phone calls, I’m told, once again, the office will call me to resolve it tomorrow. I was told that 2 days ago. Never called me. After being yelled at and talked over by the lady in the office for reporting, once again, a problem-they intentionally slipped my trash. They got my neighbors trash-not mine. I call and report THAT and I’m told, once again “I’m sorry-I’m doing all I can-what do you want me to do?” And told it will be escalated to a supervisor and I’ll be called tomorrow. I said I’ve been told that for 2 days. She then tells me there’s NOTHING on my account for problems. I’ve had issues for 7 straight months and each week I’m told they’re noting the chart. But nothing was on my acct. Period! This company was sued in February for not providing services they were contracted to do. Do not use this company if you can help it. I’ve told my property management I’m going to stop my service if it’s not corrected soon. This is a required utility. I have to pick my trash up every week bc they don’t get it all or they’re delayed and an animal gets in it

Constant missed pickups, no monetary reimbursement, no notifications or changes in schedules sent out. I'll update to 3 stars since customer service was super friendly, understanding and credited the missed pickups to my account. I totally get things happen but Republic has to notify customers and credit the missed pickups. That's all I ask for. Just give me the heads up so I can prepare and credit me the difference.

Terrible garbage service, let me be clear, I have no issue with the guys actually doing the work. They do their job and do not make a mess of neighborhood. My problem is with incompetent management who can never seem to be prepared for breakdowns or drivers on vacation. The Arizona call center is even more worthless. Again tomorrow for the 7th or 8th time this year we were notified our service will not be showing up due to “unforeseen events”. They said our garbage will not be picked up until our time next week. This is about the 4th time they delay an entire week and do not catch up the following day. Garbage in my garage or even outside smells at the one week point, 2 weeks is unbearable. All I have to say is this garbage will not be spending another week with me and will be deposited at a republic service property! Also, call in every time they miss your pick-up. They will give you a credit. Make it hurt financially or nothing will change. They DO NOT automatically credit when they miss a day. If everyone in the area requests credit and higher management sees revenue loss, something will change! Edit 6/12/24 Here we go again. Auto message our garbage will not be picked up this week and our service will picking up again our next cylce, Friday the 24 of june. If Cassie at Fairmont is reading this, please no I am not keeping my garbage for two weeks with 95 degree temperatures expected. Garbage will be left at a republic owned facility as I do not litter and this is your problem.

I just recently started service around December 2023. I have called 3 times since Monday 4/22. My trash has been sitting out for 3 weeks now! I was told on Monday 4/22 "my trash day wasn't till Wednesdays". On the rare occasion someone actually picked it up, it was never on a Wednesday EVER!! I waited till Thursday morning guess what??? My trash is still outside. I call again on 4/25 someone said "she will send someone out tommorow". Now its Saturday 4/27. I have all of my cans filled and now have attracted rodents. WIll SOMEONE ANYONE!!!! Please reach out to me. If you can not pick up my trash at least let bring it to you!!!!!

Your trash may be picked up, or it may not be. It's a real guessing game. When you call in to submit a missed pick up, they always say they will be out today or tomorrow, but yet still wont come out. Customer service will say anything to get you off the phone. Year later and still the same issues. No pick up for the past 2 weeks. Last weeks excuse was due to the weather. (It was rainy low to mid 50s) As my neighbor put it, this trash service is Trash service. Update. Week 3 in a row of not being picked up. This company is ridiculous. If you live in morgantown, switch to any one else. Cheaper and more reliable.

My trash has not been picked up to many times to count. The most recent has been 2 weeks for my entire neighborhood. When they do come in the day they are supposed to, they do not get all of the trash bags in my trash can. I am a family of 5 so we have at least 4 bags a week, many times not all bags are picked up. Anyone I have talked to at customer service is always very kind, but they say they are not able to credit my account due to the missed pickup and always gives some excuse as to why it's not been picked up. I understand things happen and maybe they have a shortage of workers, but you can at least give a credit on our bills when there is a missed pick up for weeks at a time.

This company picks up our trash and since our complex switched to dumpsters they are overflowing by the time it's trash day. Today I watched the driver of truck 1225 come to empty the dumpster and because there was so much on the ground he put the dumpster back got out of his truck and put the bags on garbage that were on the ground in the dumpster. There must have been 20 or more bags. This was above what he is supposed to do he didn't have to get out amd pick all of it up but he did and I had to acknowledge him for it he also redumped the dumpster so it was all taken away. We need more people that go above what is required and make this a better place to live. I wanted Republic trash to know they do have some employees that really work hard.

Pitiful service. Recently went 3 weeks without picking my trash up. This past week they didn’t pick it up and I have no idea why. Weather isn’t an excuse this time. This isn’t the first time they’ve missed so much. Of course no phone call offering an explanation. Rarely ever offer a refund for missing weeks. You have to call and pester them for a refund. Otherwise you’re paying for a service that doesn’t exist. My neighbors use another company who is much more consistent. Moving soon or I would switch, but I’ll be sure to let the new owners know they should avoid Republic.

These high star reviews have to be fake. I have never dealt with a company that is managed more poorly than this one. I recently canceled my service due to my garbage pickup ALWAYS being missed. I would call and schedule for a missed pick up, they still would not come get it. There were times I would literally wave to the garage truck as they drove by my trash can picking up everyone else's on my street. I would talk with numerous customer service reps before actually getting assistance. Now, I have a credit due to canceling my service and getting a refund since I was charged for services not rendered. Now, I can not get through to anyone to ask about my refund check. Literally was waiting for at least 45 minutes on the phone today and still no one picked up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Setting up service when we moved in was a nightmare. We did get our first pick up for almost 3 weeks after we moved in. Each time I called I received different information. First I could use my own bins, then they said I had to use special bins that they provided, then they canceled my bin order without telling me (meanwhile trash was building up in our garage). Ultimately, the bins we had originally were fine. They didn't know what services they provided to my address. At first they said I had recycling, but it ended up that I didn't. Now that we're in the middle of winter it seems they've just decided to stop servicing our area all together. When I call they say they don't have any notes or reason why we weren't serviced. Every time I call they say they'll send someone the next day, but don't. I understand a couple day delay after a snow storm, but it's February 14th and the last time our trash was collected was January 25th. The roads have been cleared and plowed several times and there has been no shortage of opportunity to pick up. Seriously. If UPS and FedEx can get to my door in a blizzard (I'm not saying they should...but they do), surely the trash company can get to my curb and pick up my trash on a plowed and salted road. Our garage is holding weeks worth of trash and stinks to high heaven. What are we even paying for? To be blown off by customer service and not have services rendered to us?

You might as well throw your money away (not that it would ever get picked up). We have had Republic Services for a little over a year now only because they are the only trash removal service for our area. I've called corporate a half dozen times within that time span to haggle for credits put on our account due to continuous missed pickups. They realistically pick up our trash on schedule 50% of the time and then show up later at complete random and pick up some of our neighbors trash while ours remains untouched. $60 every three months is perfectly reasonable- that is for a company that provides the service you pay for with some regularity. If you have an opportunity to not utilize Republic Services by all means take it because no one likes wasting money.
