No electricity at our site worked on it 2 different times, never got electric to our site, no offer of reduced rate. Office staff were nice. Lovely shaded sites.

I'm very disappointed, can't recommend. Sights are tight together. Grass was high. The campground road followed along the creek and highway. Highway was noisy at times. The restrooms were behind the store 3 tenths of a mile from our sight. Restrooms were clean enough, very old, hold down the toilet handle and hope it goes down, and doesn't overflow. Hot water was available after a long wait. The store is crazy expensive.$9.50 for 2 dove bar popsicles, and $9.00 for firewood. The worst was the brown iron water. We didn't use it. It would not be good to put that through the trailer system, especially the hot water rod. All for $50.00 dollars a night. Way to much money for a sight at this place.

This is a cute little campground. The campsites have water and electric hook ups. The are nice wooded sites and the staff is friendly. It was super close to the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. My only complaint is that the restrooms could use a little up keep. Some of the doors were missing locks or broken. I would recommend staying here.

We only stayed here for 1 very short night. We arrived after dark and left before the store opened in the morning. (Just needed somewhere to crash on our way through and this was very conveniently located just off the highway) We stayed in a non-electric tent site, but never pitched our tent. We just folded the back seats down and slept on our air mattress in the back. The road noise may have been a bit bothersome in a tent, but we were fine. The showers were nice and hot. Clean bath house / bathrooms. The sites all had picnic tables, fire rings and trash cans.

Stayed a night with my family (2 adults and 3 kids ages 9 years, 18 months, and 6 months) and our Golden doodle. Had an after-hours check-in, but it was super easy and convenient. Quiet family-friendly camp ground that allows single nights. Also costs a fraction of the price of the nearby resort camp ground that requires multiple nights and is booked well in advance. Highly recommended, and we will be returning!

Nice campground, didn't explore it too much, so I don't know how big it is. But, it was really quiet and only saw a few people in the RV area. The shower building was dated, but everything worked. The general store had an abundance of everything camping related. Plenty of wildlife with deer, raccoons, and some rabbits running around the playground area.

Very beautiful place. The camp sites are amazing. The shower house is clean and air conditioned. The price is so affordable. We had a great time and will most definitely be back.

Stayed one night October. This is not your typical KOA-type crowded commercial campground. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely and peaceful the heavily-treed grounds are. The campsites are private, shady, & not crowded together at all. It feels more like a nice state park. Our site was very flat and spacious for our C class motorhome. We had 30 amp service and water, though we did not need the water because our tank was full. There is Wi-fi in the store/office and we had a cell signal. Location was great! I can't speak to activities for kids, but as a retired couple who enjoy remote camping, we give it A+ and would definitely stay again.

We were on the road back from Canada to FL and googled campgrounds close to where we would be stopping. We would be arriving after the office closed so a wonderful staff member told us to just come on in and choose a campsite and pay on the way out after they open at 8 am. We are so grateful for that. It was a long tough drive in the rain and it was nice to know the stop would be easy. It’s just a couple of miles off I-79. Super clean and rustic. Wonderful large sites. I can’t comment on the bathrooms because we have a motorhome and didn’t use them. The sites are quite level and you have your own personal covered trash can. Thanks again for a restful stay!

Quiet. Rustic. Country store on site with lots of fishing stuff. Site was level; roads and sites are hard packed dirt. Checkin was smooth. Elec and water hookups worked but water was a little low pressure. Restroom looked clean but smelled bad. No amenities. Nice quiet place in nature to spend the night.

Will def come back. Google maps isn’t quite correct on location- keep going about a mile further down rd- you’ll see the sign on the right. Nice area with lots of trees. We have a large camper & we were in a huge site- it was amazing. Never had a site that large before. Not on top of people which we love. It would def fit a large motor home. Pretty level as well. Store is great- lots of stuff and if you fish you hit the jackpot. Live bait as well. Just down the rd is Stonewall Jackson lake. Lots of cute bunnies everywhere in park- drive slowly. Couple of goats in a pen. Kids would love it. No WiFi but we have Verizon and it was fine. 4-5 mi into town is Walmart and everything you need. Owner’s daughter (Sharlie) was super friendly. There no sewer hook up but they do have a dump station. We did have water and electric. I wish we would’ve had more time here. Thanks for a great stay!

The good:||The people who run this campground are SUPER fantastic. (without them, I would have given this campground 2 stars maximum)||The spots have great shade and, due to the location of the campground, even though we stayed during a really hot spell, we always had a nice breeze, and both of us felt it was much cooler on the grounds than elsewhere in the area.||It has great access to Rt. 79 but none of the noise - that's a big YAY.||It seemed to us that thought was put into spacing campers apart from each other so, until it got packed over a holiday weekend, everyone had privacy.||The not so good:||We knew that there was no cable, but there was NO reception at all.||We thought that there was WiFi ... there wasn't.||The pine trees should be cut (there would still be plenty of shade) ... they left pine pitch and needles everywhere. ||Some of the spots were REALLY uneven (we had to go purchase two jacks, and use the fire ring with a board across the top AND a jack on top of it to get our camper kind of level) ... they did work with us and moved us to a different, more level spot.||We knew there was no septic hook up, but everything we read indicated we could pay $20. per time to have the "honey wagon" empty our holding tank. We were willing to pay. However, what we didn't know was that the honey wagen ONLY empties on Wednesdays. We arrived on a Monday (too early to need a dump), and we left the following Wednesday morning. I can't speak for anyone else but, once set up, it was a pain in the fanny to have to hook up and go to the dump station.||The water, which we read was "dirty" was, according to the woman my husband offended when he asked, "iron water". I took that to be really hard water and invested in a LARGE in-line water filter (with the capability to filter out iron). The water was kind of clear for about the first two gallons. Then, the water was just ... an orange-red color. We came home and flushed everything out since we didn't want the deposits in our water heater, lines, tanks, etc. It was pretty gross. Don't think you're going to "rinse a few things out" in the sinks. Ugh.

We decided on this campground to give back to the small business...private owned...owners and staff are super friendly. Small campground. One bathhouse. Pond for fishing, goats, rabbits, kid friendly, playground, the store has everything you need and also has local crafts and primitive items. Wifi only at store. Water is well water so take your own drinking water. The water was fine for bathing and dishes it did not smell at all. We had mud at our site (bath house site) just because it rained alot. Sites do have gravel.

If you're looking for a place to rest, and relax, this is it. The neighboring camp lots are not right on top of each other. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The road conditions at the Broken Wheel needs some maintenance (some minor potholes, nothing to worry about), but the serenity makes up for it. There is a long pond hugged up against the hill opposite the camp sites. Some fish, but it's arch and release. Nearby are Stonewall Jackson Lake and Stonecoal Lake. The town of Weston is only 3 miles away and I-79 is only 1 1/2 miles away. You have access to some of the most scenic areas in the state.

RV camping while working out of town. The sites are overcome with woods that leave residue on camper. The water is horrid to say the least very displeasing odor and residue. the sites do not have septic hook up. The critters tear the trash cans open and the owners would leave post it notes on your camper expecting you to clean up there mess. Worst of all they would not refund any of my money which they were paid in advance for a month and I couldn't bear to shower in the water and had to leave after a couple of days because I feared my wife and infant child getting sick. I'll not camp there again!

I work some weekends at the Asylum up|in Weston and I always camp here. The owners are super friendly and helpful. I usually tent camp alone, and I feel really safe here. The owners live on site and that is a plus. The campers are always friendly as well. They have some really cool campsites and the actual tent area is back away from everything and kinda cool with lots of shade. They have a fishing pond that is very well stocked with fish. I catch several fish every time I go. The store is very convenient, you really don’t have to go out for anything. They have bait, fishing gear, beer, food, any items you might need at a good price. They also have free wifi at office. They have the cutest big bunnies that will just come basically right to ya.

The campground was woodsy and quiet. My issue was the bathroom. They need to tear it down and put up a nice CLEAN bathroom and CLEAN showers. Have a neat store. I gave it a 2 because of the bathrooms. The picnic table was covered in moss and not in good shape. We didn't use it.

We stayed overnight here while we were passing through the area. My first issue was that I requested, and was told I’d have a 50 amp site... but it was 30 amp. No worries, I can manage with that. ||My next concern, and why I assume this place is called “Broken Wheel Campground”, is the condition of the roads in this park. We have an F250 and pull a fifth wheel and I thought I would need dental work, an alignment, new wheels, and possibly new contents in the RV after driving through. 8” potholes, three wide in the middle of the road, even the best rally racer couldn’t avoid.||There’s no Verizon service, no WiFi, no cable... so bring a good book ??

Great campgrounds, family run and they will help with anything you need. The maintenance guy was perfect helpful and nice guy to talk to. The down fall is you cant get any tv channels, phone service is no good and no internet for homeschooling. It's real camping not the new age camping.

We were pleasantly surprised by this campground. Everyone was really nice and made checking in easy. The bathroom/showers were very clean and warm. We camped in a tent site and it was clean and mostly flat. The picnic tables need replaced for sure though but that would be my only complaint as we did not feel it was safe enough to use for dinner. There is a store with convenience items you may need while camping... including beer! Would definitely camp here again when in the area.

Friendly folks in a friendly place with fresh coffee. You can fish all day. They offer a catch and release pay pond to the public as well as visiting guests. Campsites with and without electricity. The camping store is stocked with everything you can imagine from cooking to fishing to a unique souvenir!. There's even a stage for live music!!

Nice big, shady spots with fire pits and picnic tables. Electric and water hookup and sewer Service. Shower houses have just been recently painted. The country Store has great hours, a lot of great choices to choose from for food as well as gifts and essentials. Great staff and mostly quiet.

We took a family of 12, 8 children and 4 adults to camp for the weekend as well as our dogs. As reviews and facebook stated this was a family friendly location. However, On our second night, our experience was terrifying. Around 10pm, we were telling campfire stories and roasting smores and not bothering anyone, the owner sped up on his motorcycle, appearing under the influence. He jumped off abruptly, exclaiming he is the owner and we are being disruptive, screaming at our children and dogs in a way no child should be spoke to in. He then threatened my veteran father with bringing his "brothers" (apparently from a bikers club?) to take care of him and his dogs. Another adult in our family intervened, trying to understand the situation, as he was then threatened as well. After an exchange of words, he reved up his bike and sped off. After law enforcement was involved, as we felt our lives as well as our dogs lives were at risk, we were told he is infact the owner. Our children were petrified and slept in the camper instead of their tents. He came by the next day to apologize, and he said he went to the wrong campsite, we attempted to speak to him about his actions and how he affected our young ones, he became very unapologetic, shrugged his shoulders and left. I will NEVER recommend this campground to anyone and i pray noone else is ever put in this situation.

Enjoyed my short tent camping stay. I kept coming in after the office was closed and leaving early in the morning before they opened, but they have a self pay slot to make that easy. The tent area is separated from the RV area which is really awesome. I didn't hear any generators at night. Plus, the showers and bathrooms were very clean all weekend.

Pleasant, clean, nice sites. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. Easy access off I-79. Water is high in iron so you will need a filter and there is virtually no cell or wifi service in the park.

This is a nice quiet campground kid and pet friendly. Bathrooms are clean and newly painted. Showers are clean. The previous pictures on here are of the iron stains it was not dirt. This is well water with a lot of iron in it. If you use the water it is best to get a filter. The color of the water is from the iron and fades the more you run it. WE WILL DEFINATLEY COME BACK. Staff was awesome!!!!

If you like rustic in the woods experience you will see here a West Virginia campground. Yes the bathrooms are typical for WV but you will not find a nicer bunch of people. Be careful of the deer especially around dusk and early in the morning coming and going. I love to take a drive on up the road especially at dusk to see the deer. The campsites are pretty level considering that the campground is cut out of the side of a hill. I always stay here when I come to Weston to visit.

Bunnies! Site was a generous size. Sewer hookups were not available due to the river proximity, which makes it a fair tradeoff. Staff was friendly and the campground store is a fisherman's dream. And did I mention cute little bunnies?

Great camping for all. We enjoyed our stay. Karaoke and music on Labor Day weekend 2016. Shower house well kept. Nice primitive and rv sites. Cute souvenirs and convenience store. Close to Stonewall Jackson lake.||

This a nice campground with a great staff. My wife and I pulled in there while we were having one of the worst days one could have on vacation. It was July 4 weekend in 2011, our RV had multiple tire blowouts and our dog of 16 yrs went into respiratory distress and failure. The staff assisted us in every way possible, and the owner of the campground drove us 40+ miles to an emergency vet. She was a 'GODSEND'. She stayed with us and brought back to our campsite. The staff also got us assistance from a local business to get us back underway. I highly recommend this campground.
