I’d like to thank the staff at Mac’s automotive repair for fixing my truck quickly. I had it towed in that morning and later that day they called and let me know it was ready. That’s nice Service for someone out of town.

When I came back because the car started pulling again, the tech showed me some photos of old bent spots under the car. I clearly told him those bends were already there long before the initial alignment. Instead of listening, he acted like I wasn’t being truthful. At the counter, the employee spoke to me with a very dismissive, condescending attitude, calling me “honey” and saying, “Mac says it’s not under warranty, so it’s not.” She also said, “This is the third time it’s being aligned,” even though I paid for every alignment myself — nothing was ever free. I didn’t mind paying for a new alignment but the way the situation was handled — the attitude, the assumptions, and the disrespect — is the reason I won’t be returning.

I’m the daughter mentioned in the earlier review today. My personal experience with Mac’s Automotive Repair and Towing Service has been nothing short of amazing!!! After a long year of aggravation, Mac’s diagnosed my car issues that another shop could not, (which not dismissed all my fears of what to do next) they were able to correct the issue with my alternator/ starter but they also inspected and corrected a few minor issues getting me safely back on the road again. ? Not only have I found my new “go to” mechanic, I would recommend Mac’s to everyone I meet. If I could give more than 5 ⭐️ I would. Thanks again!!!

Our daughter moved to Gloucester Va & desperately needed help getting her car running after months of frustration from having it at another shop still not running ! We recommended her to go to a local parts store and ask for a good repair shop recommendation. She found you guys and you have a great reviews !!! I had to reduce this two stars because I was given a bad estimate. I went in with my air conditioning not working. They charged me $75 to analyze the problem and gave me an estimate for over $2,000 to fix my AC. I declined because I wasn't ready to spend that money at that time. I took my car to d&m auto repair up the block and they repaired my problem by filling my system with freon. It's been 3 or 4 days now and everything is working fine. Kind of disappointing to get a bad estimate. :( I cannot recommend this company more highly. They seem like a bunch of honest guys they've always given me a fair price they are my go-to guys for auto repair

Patrick at Mac’s was absolutely wonderful. He spent a lot of his time to figure out what was going on with my Jeep issues…and did! I was not charged for his services and I highly recommend Mac’s!!

I scheduled a car pickup with Peddle, and Macs was their selected service. My pickup window was 7-11 am, but I heard nothing until 1:50 pm after leaving my initial review. My initial negative review was only about their lack of communication regarding being 2+ hours late. Michael from Macs called, saying he’d arrive in 30 minutes, so I paid for a Lyft to meet the car. At 2:01 pm, I received a text saying they couldn’t come today, with no reschedule offered. I wasted money on Lyfts and missed work, only for poor communication and broken promises. I sold the car to someone else while waiting, but I won’t trust Macs for anything in the future, and I’ll warn others to avoid them too.

Absolutely notch shop! Mac’s auto repair is a shop you can trust and provides nothing but reliable and excellent service. We had our vehicle in a different repair shop for 3 weeks for an issue and they were unable to find a fix after multiple repair attempts. We took it into Mac’s auto and Matt diagnosed it right away and was able to fix it for us in less half of what the dealership quoted. They also spent extra time to find more affordable parts with the same quality to help drive down our expenses. This is our go to place for any auto repair issues. Highly recommend Mac’s auto, you won’t go wrong taking your vehicle to them!

I found this place by driving past it. My car needed an exhaust fixed and was told be several corporate ran garages the whole system needed to be replaced, they could not weld aluminum. I pulled up to Mac's Jeff was having lunch out front. He took a look, on the spot. Immediately Jeff took the car in the garage. 15 minutes later he fixed the leek for only 100$. That was 4 years ago. Since then I have gotten all my inspections done there because I was convinced they are an honest company. Btw you can make appointments for inspection. A couple weeks ago 2 very good local mechanics told me a grinding sound was coming from the alternator. I replaced it myself but part cost 189$ and didn't fix the noise. Several more mechanics said it was inside the engine! I live 20 miles from Mac's but went back there. 20 minutes later Jeff informed me it was the water pump. Again I replaced it myself. It was no surprise Jeff Gibson was Right! Even though it is a distance away from me I'm not ever going to another mechanic. Mac's is worth the drive! Since my first visit I have been there several times and found the ladies at the service desk to be courteous and knowledgeable. This is a family owned and operated business.Over the top comfortable waiting area, extremely well organized and professional service team. Being an Exec. Chef I do not give such great reviews lightly. I had the good fortune to meet the owner, after talking to Mark I quickly understood why his business was ran so well. Just proves that a great team starts from the top down!

I ended up with a flat tire on Friday night (6/7/24). Apparently I rolled over a large bolt somewhere and it punctured my tire. I started losing air quickly. AAA left me stranded on the side of the road for over 4 hours. They initially contacted Matt McQuillen of Mac's Automotive Repair and Towing but he was out on two calls earlier that night. AAA was not able to find anyone to change my tire (I have had my shoulder replaced and was unable to do it myself). After several hours, I finally got through to a manager at AAA who took over my call personally. After making some additional calls, he was able to reach Matt, who was on his way home after his earlier calls. This was about 8:00 p.m. at night. Matt agreed to come out and change my tire for me with no muss, no fuss. Not only did the AAA manager call me and tell me that Matt was on his way and would be there in less than 30 minutes, Matt then called me himself and told me he was on his way to pick up his truck and would be right there. Less than 20 minutes later, Matt showed up and got right to work. He was professional, efficient and could not have been a nicer guy (all this after having already been out on calls that night - I know he had to have been dog tired, but you would never have known it by the way he dealt with me). After only a short while, he had my punctured tire in the bed and my spare mounted on the truck and I was on my way. Matt gave me his card and told me I could call him directly if I needed his services in the future. THAT is customer service! AAA may have let me down that night, but Matt and Mac's Automotive did not!

Mac's is fast, friendly and downright affordable. I had to have my truck towed and the lady who answered was very friendly. And the truck showed up within minutes. I was videoing the whole thing being pulled up onto a truck, so my 10 year old could see how cool it was. The driver noticed and told me to go ahead and bring my kid by to check out the trucks. Thats how friendly they are. Fast and efficient for sure. Very satisfied customer.

In our family we each have one car, work and live in two cities, with overlapping working hours, so NOT having a car for both of us would have been problematic at best. That being said, THANK YOU MAC'S AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR for getting us in so quickly and fixing our car issues even quicker!!!!!! Santa will definitely bring you all a goody basket! Heater works now, a/c works even better, and ZERO leaking from anywhere anymore!!! The cost was very affordable, they were very nice, and the lady up front running the show (we all know the ladies are in charge ?) was SO sweet, so kind, and very patient with this impatient and busy momma! Thank you again! Our family has now found out auto repair "home"!

Made appointment Friday for inspection today. Glenn was very professional, and everyone there made me feel like family. It’s nice to be a female and know they won’t take advantage of you.

My mom and I have been using them for about 2 years now, today I had an appointment for inspection, the staff was very friendly, even with people on the phone or in person who were not friendly tords them. The waiting area was comfortable and inviting. I even got a quote for when I'm ready to get the oil changed soon. I recommend getting an appointment, as they are busy. And recommend them if you want a friendly fair place to get your vehicle worked on.

This was my first time taking my truck to Mac’s. I worked in the auto repair industry and have issues trusting other people to work on my vehicles. I brought it in for a state inspection to test them out. The young lady at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. The tech was very thorough and showed me pictures of the components that needed to be repaired. The waiting area is very comfortable. Looking forward to bringing my truck here again.

Front office staff was courteous and professional! Immediately took my information and got me in line for an inspection. Office space and waiting area was clean and comfortable!! Will definitely be coming back to have my daughter's tires done here!!

I always enjoy going here. I know they are trustworthy and give it to me straight. This industry is hard and can suck the life out of some people. This company however helps to the best of their ability. I will continue to come here as long as i can.

My visit at MACs today was short notice to them on a leaking tire. They were able to get me in and back on the road in about an hour. Courteous and explained the findings and fix. Much appreciated as always. Doug Johnson

My experience with Mac's Automotive has always been outstanding!! All the other shops in Gloucester County are great, but this shop is honestly the best in my humble opinion. The mechanics are "top notch" and "up front honest" and honestly know their stuff. These mechanics will not over promise you while under achieving their work. They have always worked well with me and have talked with me in the main lobby, both face to face and in person. Really good people that are not just out there to pull money from your pocket. My only thing with this shop is they need to get not one, but "two" permanent customer service workers utilizing both phone calls and customers inside. Reason for that is they are such a great auto shop, they got everyone from VA Beach to Richmond wanting to come get their vehicles fixed here.

We've taken our car here twice for AC issues over the past several years. Each time, the staff was kind, caring, and honest! This time, they even told us to bring it back within a few days to ensure the issue was fixed. The price was very reasonable and turnaround was prompt. We appreciate y'all!

They were able to squeeze me in and take care of my state inspection quickly and efficiently, even after I had misunderstood the timing of things. They took great care of me and my car and had me back out the door lickety split - they have a new customer for sure!

Not sure what to think. The employee was friendly the dog was cute. Was going to have work done but after looking at the estimated price. It was well above the price for that kind of work in this area. Also, did not get a document with a detailed estimate which by law you are required to have. But, I went to another place and they also did not give me a detailed estimate just a paper with total parts & labor. Note! It is by law that you are given a document of the cost to include labor hrs and parts.

Very disappointing. First time (and last time) customer. Called a week earlier to schedule an appointment to have about $1,000 of work done to my car. We agreed I would drop the car off the night before so they could have it available when they opened. Around 1pm I hadn’t heard from them so I called to get a status. I was informed that they hadn’t even gotten started on the car yet! When I expressed my displeasure about this, I was assured they would get my car in before the end of the day and that they should be able to finish the work before the shop closed at 5 PM. Around 4:45 PM I decided to stop by and see how things were going as I had not heard back from them since our earlier phone call. Upon arriving at the garage, I noticed my car was still sitting in the same place I parked it the night before. No work had been done. I told them I needed my car the next day for work and I could not leave it there with them for another day. All I got was “sorry”. What upsets me the most is that they did not even have the decency to call me halfway through the day to inform me that they will not be able to get the work done. Even worse is that I had called a week earlier to give them plenty of time to schedule my vehicle for the repairs and yet they couldn’t even get to it on the day they scheduled me for. That just showed me they have poor planning and poor scheduling capabilities. They also deceived me by telling me they would get to it before the end of the day. If they’re being deceptive about the when they would start working on my car, what else would they be deceptive about? ? If anyone reading this has any recommendations for a more honest repair shop in the local area, please post in the replies! I guess this garage is more concerned about $100 oil changes than a $1,000 worth of work! Find a better and more trustworthy place.

Comfortable place to hang out while the guys take care of your vehicle. They know what customer service means.

Went to Mac’s automotive shop on Monday, did not make and appointment but they got me in quickly. The girl at the front counter was very polite and helpful, they to my car back in less then 20 minutes. I just moved into the area and stopped by because it is close to my house, great people great service and a great price. Thank y’all Mac’s

I'm fairly new to the area. However, went to a certain green local automotive shop and myself and my GF failed our inspections over seemingly silly things. Like turn signals not being amber enough. Well I'm no mechanic but I can turn a wrench. And I sure as hell wasn't going to pay an exuberant amount for someone to replace my header. Anyway I fixed my exhaust leaks, replaced some bulbs and was recommended mac's by the advanced auto just up the road. Went there to get re inspected and while I didn't fail over the same things I still failed for my e brake light being on in the dash. And not working properly. They didn't charge me a dime for their time and said to just bring it back when I get it fixed(since I had a rejection sticker). So I did. They had me in and out in a breeze and were kind a understanding of my situation. Would highly recommend if you don't know who to go to to get inspected or for any other automotive needs. This is the first time in years that not a single light has been on in my dash.
