Ben worked on our 2014 BMW X3, a vehicle we've put off work for a while. Amy's support, the communication, and the text to digital forward interaction was best in class. Every element of work was explained without pressure. Cost was 100% reasonable. This was our first experience with Auto Craftsman, and we will not go anywhere else.

I've been going to Auto Craftsmen since 1996 and even though I moved up to Burlington I still travel to Montpelier to get my car serviced. I trust Auto Craftsmen implicitly -- they have never disappointed me. They are truly the best. I can rest assured that my car is in the best working order.

I’ll always support the folks at Auto Craftsmen. They’re pro-active and transparent with their communication with inspections and repairs. They are proactive and transparent when something falls under warranty even if I wouldn’t think to check myself, catching issues before they become problematic and saving money while doing so! They often take photos of any parts that need a ‘surprise’ repair and do a great job educating without upselling. I am so grateful for Montpelier Auto Craftsmen! They are transparent, kind, and will go the extra mile to take care of their customers. I had originally visited in March for a brake replacement. This week, I mistakenly thought that my recently replaced brakes were failing. On short notice, they took the time to put my car up on a lift, and diagnose the issue with me. The issue ended up being very minor, and at no fault of their shop. Still, Amy (the owner) and Ben (the master technician), both went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe and empowered when looking at my car’s issues. I walked away from the experience feeling more knowledgeable about my car, and so grateful for the time they took to make sure I was taken care of. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend Montpelier Auto Craftsmen for any repair needs you have!

My experience with Auto Craftsmen was nothing short of stellar. I have a volvo that didnt have much left in it for life. I brought it to Auto Craftsmen because nobody wanted to touch it. I will be honest, they were not my first choice, simply out of convenience, but after the sorcery that Amy and her amazingly talented staff performed, they will absolutely be my only choice. Even through the flood, my car was safe and secure and they were very good about keeping me posted. During the process, they kept me up to speed and didnt do any work that I didnt agree to, and were extremely awesome and their expert abilities showed. I recieved pictures, videos and messages almost daily on the progress. Even got a loaner vehicle to use while the did the work so my family and werent left stranded. I cant begin to thank them enough for their hard work. It runs like its brand new. It is with absolute pleasure that I reccommend Auto Craftsmen for your vehicle service needs.

For years, we have had the crew at Auto Craftsmen work on our cars, always with excellent results. However, my most recent experience requires a review. The check-engine light kept coming on in my 2015 CRV resulting in the All wheel drive function being lost. Winter in Vermont is not when one wants to lose all wheel drive! Amy and the crew squeezed me in hours before their Holiday break, found me a loaner car. They diagnosed and repaired the problem in time to get me on the road for Christmas. Thank you Auto Craftsmen!

Unfortunately I can’t speak to the efficacy or affordability of the work done by Auto Craftsmen. I needed the rear wheel bearings replaced in my car (diagnosed by my father who has changed wheel bearings on every past vehicle of mine and his own but is no longer able to), so I called to ask for an estimate. I knew the work would be a big number, so I wanted to get a sense of what I need before I took the car in. I was told by Amy that coming up with an estimate for me was essentially a waste of her time. As a woman, she spoke to me in a more condescending tone than any male mechanic I’ve ever spoken to. She told me that there was no way she could possibly give me even a ballpark number and that I would have to bring my car into their shop for a full inspection of the vehicle before she could even begin coming up with a number for me. I understand her reasoning and may have even been open to a discussion about this possibility, had it not been for the dismissive, condescending, and rude demeanor of Amy.

We have used Autocraftsmen’s services for 14 years and have always been happy with their work. Recently they fit us in during a very busy time for them to replace the starter in our car before it left us stranded. That was very much appreciated by us! Nice, honest folks working there which makes it an excellent choice for car repairs.

Grayson and everyone at Auto Craftsmen are excellent and professional automative technicians. The customer experience is welcoming and thorough and would allow anyone to understand what is needed and what is going to be required down the road. By actually diagnosing the root problem, and caring about providing good service, they elevate themselves above the rest.

I took my car to Auto Craftsmen to get my inspection done. They were extremely thorough, made the process super easy and Grayson answered all my questions thoughtfully. I really like how you can view their full report and estimates through text/online. I can always have these for my records and there were many pictures included as well. I plan on using Auto Craftsmen for all future auto repairs/maintenance. In these COVID times, they also had a contactless payment, drop off, interaction system that felt super safe. Honestly, I feel an immense relief in working with them for all of my auto needs :)

I have used Auto Craftsmen for everything I needed for my 2012 Outback. I chose them originally because they were the first in the area to have "loaner cars." Loaner cars are great because then I don't have to negotiate with anyone to pick me up or drive me back. However, I keep returning to them for everything else - Amy and the staff and pleasant and helpful and lovely to deal with. Their repair work is excellent. They explain everything. The best auto service I've ever had in terms of people skills...and very good with cars as well.

After breaking down on the interstate 2 states away from home, Auto Craftsmen were able to correct diagnose my car's problem, fix it in a timely manner and recommend other necessary safety fixes then repair at a reasonable price. No high pressure, just common sense with safety in mind. Very Professional Company. I have already recommended them to all my relatives in the area. A+++

Amy and her crew are outstanding! As the owner, Amy is extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. I called close to 5PM one day with a check engine light and she got on the phone immediately and walked me through a few diagnostic steps. They go above and beyond in educating customers. They have a thorough checklist they use and even proactively check the manufacturer's website for recalls and invest in new technology. I had a brake repair done recently and they sent me text message updates along with actual pictures of the damage. It made the whole process extremely convenient. As a small businessowner, Amy understands the importance of relationships. I've been a customer for over a year and made the switch to her shop after getting tired of driving all the way to the BMW dealership in Shelburne where my business never felt valued. I wish I had discovered her shop years ago. I would highly recommend Amy and her entire crew at Auto Craftsmen. They are honest, reliable, and trustworthy.

I've been taking my 2001 Jeep to Auto Craftsman since I moved to Vermont over five years ago. Auto Craftsman has done a great job of taking care of it, explaining every repair need in advance, discussing price options, and always doing so with courtesy and friendliness. I always highly recommend them.

Auto Craftsmen has always focused on integrity. They are honest about your appointment times even if it’s a month out. They keep their work schedule under control so each customer gets the time they need. My last visit was for winter tires and they were clear about all the costs involved when we talked about options so I could make an informed decision. The tires were there on time and install perfectly. I highly recommend them. Worth every penny!

I have my cars serviced at Auto Craftsmen, and I would highly recommend them for their tremendous customer service, repair and transparency when it comes to billing and work done on my vehicles. Very up front about their cost estimate, always giving us the worst case scenario. Mechanics are very familiar with Volvo's- surely saved us quite a bit by taking care not to damage delicate sensors on our high maintenance vehicle. I'm impressed time and again how well everything is documented and presented as forthrightly as I could hope; I'm always happy to get a high-buffered estimate and then pleasantly surprised when the job is finished for less; a very well run business.

I brought my Audi A3 etron to Auto Craftsmen for the first time last week. I was impressed with their customer service, and being able to get a shuttle to drop me off back at home in the morning and pick me up at the end of the day made it so easy! What a relief to not have to drive an hour each way to the dealership. Their explanation of the issues was clear and concise and well documented in writing along with all the charges.

Honest, trustworthy service. Very difficult to find that in a mechanic. Convenient to use their cars when dropping my own off to have work done. They're affordable and competent. I do wish they accepted at least some parts from the customer for install without the labor charge penalty.

Always good service and a friendly atmosphere. Over the past few years I've had a number of services performed on my aging Prius by Auto Craftsmen. They've worked with me to find safe solutions while keeping the costs down. Plus they offer a local drop-off and pick-up van service which makes my life so much easier. I'm very satisfied.

Unlike a number of the people posting hateful reviews, I understand business. I understand the negative impact of giving someone a quote over the phone when you haven't seen the problem, only to have a really angry customer in your face because they failed to tell you about ALL of the problems. Auto Craftsmen isn't, nor have they ever been, the "cheapest" solution to get your car back on the road. They set a very high bar for safety AND reliability. The 230K miles on my Toyota 4Runner is a perfect example of how reliable they can make your vehicle. You get what you pay for, whether it's food, clothing or automotive service. If you're looking for cheap, don't go here. If you're looking for amazing quality work, fair and honest explanations of what's going on, keeping your vehicle safe and reliable... with free loaner cars and friendly staff, then go here. I have been for over a decade and have easily found them the best automotive mechanic option I've used (across 20 years and 3 states).

Amy and Mark, as well as the rest of their team, are incredibly knowledgeable, and very patiently willing to explain anything and everything related to proper maintenance and service of our vehicles.Such expertise and competence coupled with their willingness to always work with our schedules in mind, and stellar customer service easily made loyal customers out of us. We trust Auto Craftsmen completely, and recommend them very highly.

I don't ordinarily write reviews about anything, so this going to be important. Auto Craftsmen is hands-down the most trustworthy and competent shop you could ever hope to bring your vehicle to. I have been bringing my vehicle to this shop for about 5 years now and cannot speak highly enough (here) to how their Excellent Service and Honest Approach to advising me what to do to keep my truck safe and on the road. I know that they care about me as a customer and not just another job and it shows in the way the shop is run and the services they offer. As far as anything auto is concerned: Honesty is very important; also important is feeling like you get what you pay for and it's done right the 1st time. I know what to expect each time I leave my vehicle at Auto Craftsmen and their loaner cars (and bikes) are extremely useful when either me or my wife needs one. They are beyond reliable as far as quality of service and offer all (if not more) of the conveniences that some of the dealership-kind of repair shops are trying to be or become. Other shops have actually commented on the quality of work that Auto Craftsmen's mechanics recently did on my vehicle... "Boy, they did a nice job!" -It's times like that when you know that Auto Craftsmen is the repair shot that sets the bar and where I plan to squeeze another 12 years out of my truck (and that's cash in my own pocket in the long run IMHO !) 6-Stars!!! An oasis of vehicle repair! I'd drive from Boston for maintenance! I had an emergency with my vehicle recently and found Auto Craftsmen reviews online. They completely lived up to their 5-star reputation. Amy was welcoming and helpful right away. A technician stopped everything to put my truck on a lift and ran diagnostics. Price was surprisingly low for the services. Amy even got me into town and sent photos of the issues to me before I got home! Considering driving up from Boston for my regular car maintenance. Check out their new undercoat rustproofing too! Highly recommended!
