We are from south of Boston, in town to drop our son off at Norwich University. We had a problem with our car that we knew we had to get it looked it/fixed to make sure we could drive home after we dropped him off. Utton's went above and beyond to help us; from my desperate 4:45pm call on Tuesday to having it ready before the time stated on Wednesday. They gave me advice on next steps, which I'm taking care of today.
And when my son can have his car at Norwich his sophomore year, we know where we'll send him if the need arises. Thank you Utton's, you've earned a new customer!
The car shop in town, honest, and really busy. The customer service is awesome. They are open from Monday to Thursday. Call them and book an appointment for your next car service.
Very satisfied with my new exhaust from Utton's. Amy and Keith are very polite. I needed everything after donut flange at manifold/catalytic converter to muffler tip (Flex section, resonator, pipe and muffler) for my 2006 Chevy Malibu 2.2l.

My experience at Utton's was awesome. You can tell they truly care about folks and their community. I had an emergency repair that needed to be done.. during insane tire change over season. After explaining my situation, they were able to squeeze me in last minute and took care of my car as if it was their own. Forever grateful for them and their service today. Hundreds of miles from home, with no place to stay, my car broke down and became undriveable. I limped to Utton's, and asked for emergency assistance. They realized my dilemma, and despite being massively backed up with work, squeezed me in and had me back on the road in less than an hour. Instead of taking advantage of my circumstances, as many would have, they charged me less than $50. Not just a good garage. Good people!
Total pros. They love my old truck which is lucky for me because they see it a lot. They seem to have encyclopedic knowledge of at least the last 50 years of car parts for all types of vehicles and situations. They’re nice people and I sent everyone to them.
Utton's is a local family business. I definitely reccomend checking them out for your automotive needs. I got estimates from a few garages in the area. Nobody could beat their prices or customer service.They have earned a 5 star rating from me for the quality of their work, seriously amazing customer service and pricing. Other perks were that the waiting area was pleasantly decorated and clean. They also had an adorable dog in the office. The only down side, it may take a few weeks to get an appointment. Yes, it's because they are that good.
Utton's is a first rate auto repair shop. Even though they were booked they took care of my van,(which had to be towed) promptly and with a correct diagnosis. It was repaired at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Utton's built a custom true dual exhaust for me on my lifted Ford Excursion. The attention to detail on the bends and finish-work is superb. The build has a terrific sound, not too rowdy, just the right amount of rumble. The exits in the back are tucked in next to the reese hitch to prevent accidental damage when off-roading. I couldn't be more pleased with their craftsmanship and very reasonable price.

Wowed by the customer service here - new customer needing new brakes and rotors. Called just the day before dropping my car off and they squeezed me into their busy schedule the following day. Kind and caring people and very fair prices! They have my business from here on out and I will be passing on their good name.
I had a rock stuck in my brakes and it was making a terrible noise. Uttons was able to get me in, fixed up, and on my way within 15 minutes even though they were short staffed. They were friendly and considerate. I would definitely recommend this local business.
Best mechanics anywhere! They do excellent work and charge fair prices and they are wonderful people too! I moved to Middlebury I continue taking my car to them for service!
A usually busy little shop but, they seem pretty trusting with advice and knowledge! A decent mechanic is really hard to find.... But they know their stuff here and prices are pretty reasonable..

We were travelling through Vermont and had an alternator go bad. They took us in immediately, replaced the alternator right in the parking lot and had us on our way in no time. Great place! I highly recommend them to anyone needing repairs.

I highly recommend Utton's Automotive. My husband is in the Navy and we are stationed in RI and about to relocate very soon. My husband earned a 4 day weekend liberty so I had to drag him to VT as it was the last state in the North Eastern part of the US we hadn't traveled to. We had just got our oil changed, rotors, brakes, serpentine belt, fuel and air filters replaced in RI since we knew the move to NC was coming up. We started noticing the car having a hard time on the freeway and going up the hills and it started whistling so we knew we had to pull over. Since it was a Sunday we had to get a room and find a mechanic in the morning. We went to the Buick dealership in Montpelier and they identified the problem as a bad catalytic converter and wanted to charge us $1,500 for the parts and labor and they wouldn't get it done until the next day. Mind you, we just paid $1,000 a week before so we did not want to spend another $1,500 plus my husband had to be back at work the next day. We googled auto shops and Utton's was the second we called. We waited 30 minutes while other cars with appointments were serviced. While we were waiting the owner of the shop conversed with us and was very friendly. He got the car in and it only took 30 minutes for them to fix the issue. Although, he was honest about the possibility we may not have been seen or our problem resolved the same day. The owner even brought us the old cat converter to show us how it was clogged. We were nervous to know how much we would be charged and we're both surprised and ecstatic that it only came to about an eighth of the price Buick wanted!!!!! I wish I could have brought these guys with me when I moved from Vermont to Oregon a couple years ago. I had nothing but amazing experiences with these professional, friendly mechanics, but the last time I had them work on my car is what really stuck out.
2 weeks before I was set to leave for the West coast I brought my car to them and found out I needed a new clutch, and 2 front axels on top of all the minor maintenance/repairs I already knew I needed. They gave me a quote and said it would be a minimum of 4 days. THE VERY NEXT DAY I got a call saying the work was done, and that the total would be $300 under what the quoted me. Seriously amazing service!
