We were visiting in the SLC area and skiing. We noticed issues with our brakes and at 6pm they fit us in and serviced our car for the 9 hour drive home. Great service!

After showing up early for my 10 o’clock appointment because if you’re not early, you’re late I was there about 930 didn’t get help till about 10:15. They pulled my truck in about 1030 and decided after about 45 minutes that my truck was too big for their alignment machine. I can’t be the only one that came here for an alignment and a lifted vehicle.

Stephan was super helpful by ordering me specific snow tires for my car. I was able to get them ordered and the next day get them on my car! Had the best price in the valley for a set of 4 tires

I understood they were very busy but regardless they gave me great service. The tire works excellent and I appreciate that. They are in fact open on Sundays despite what Google says I highly recommend them.

5 stars. Went in to have a slow leak fixed. Diagnosed the issue, not the news I wanted but gave me up front info and pricing without any runaround. Didn't end up having anything done but appreciated the honest info. Will go back to schedule a couple of the recommened services. Just good experience with good employees. Tim was great.

My car is still there!!! 3 weeks now!!! No resolution!! And I had to rent a car this whole time! They cracked my car open like a crab-and can not put it back right. My photos are crazy?!?!?!? Wow...I'm still in shock! :/ BEWARE......today is February 5th 2026 and I still have no resolution...I am in claims and the representative Ty Freeman is my only point of contact...she is rude and unprofessional...she told me it's bad luck my car is destroyed...refusing me a manager ...and now I have to prove that pep boys is the reason my car is a total loss...it is at the dealership waiting for approval to diagnostics test it because no one can figure out what they have done....this is crazy....i need a lawyer i came back to remove my star....wow.....i still haven't talked to a manager.

I couldn’t find a place to remove my battery since it was under the seat of my car Tim went above and beyond and made sure that my car seat was put back properly and the battery was replaced and also made sure that he told me what other issues I needed to have done with my car it’s hard to find good loyal mechanics. Nowadays people are more out for money and they were more out for making sure that I was taken care of.

Pep Boys were great. They were able to inspect my car for a weird noise and found the problem quick. Appointment setting was great as well, I was able to get the car looked at the same day I called to make an appointment.

Made an appointment for oil change and it took 3 hours and they were not busy also they put the wrong oil in my vehicle and had to change it again. Only good thing is that they give $50 off on Wednesday for veterans Update: I was contacted by someone and I told them everything that happened and although they did reach out they made excuses for everything and it felt as if my concerns feel on deaf ears. Just going through the motions to appease me.

I was running low on brake fluid and they personally helped and topped me off. It's hard to find great customer service nowadays. I'm glad I discovered Pep Boys. Will come hear for my emissions testing next month.

Ordered some tires online and had them delivered to store. Got in the next day after they arrived. Tires were installed within 2 hours. No hassle and everything done correctly. Great work!

Disorganized, slow, lightly rude, over charge for services, and want to charge extra to do work correctly. Update: the clock is about to strike noon on my 10am appointment to quickly swap premounted winter tires. People have been bickering with the staff and moral is low. I will never come here again and I suggest no one else does as well.

Waited from 8:30-2:30, had an 8am appt. It was 10am when it was discovered i had picked the wrong tires online pre appt so that it would be 2 hours for them to be delivered from another location. I finally had to tell them to stop where they were and get my car out I had to leave to pick up someone from work. I don't even know if everything was checked. They said the oil change was done and I hope it was true because the dashboard notification was not reset, they were trying to do it right before sensing the car out (like was delaying bringing it out trying to figure out how to do it). I have a lifetime wheel alignment & that sort of got done. As i was telling them i need to leave like now i was informed the rear sway bar needs replacement, at 2:15 pm i was barely being told. The car had been there ALL day why was it barely being brought up? The tires were about 100 more & thanks to a special tire installation was free and the oil change was 113. I spent over 800. The manager was friendly and loaned me a charging cord to use during my stay. The lobby area was 🥶 cold. The staff again was so good, but in typical pep boys corp style prices are super inflated and the appt system does not account for the amount of time it really takes techs to get work done. I would have spent way more if they would have gotten all the work done that i wanted to get done.

Not entirely sure what the issue is at this location. The facts: Made an appointment for 12:30, the week before, for a tire swap to Winter Tires that I provided. Showed up at 12:00, was told it'll take 2.5 to 3 hrs. My initial thoughts were "that's odd, but ok". Ended up leaving after waiting 3.5hrs without anything to show for it. Was told I was "next in line"... I'm sure that was true, but wasn't worth waiting another 3hrs for a simple Tire change and alignment. This location needs some help with time management and respecting other people's time with some honest communication. Tim was at least respectful and calm when interacting with him.

Very frustrated with the service and communication. I called the day before and made an appointment for my car to fix the alignment and get the oil changed. Showed up at 4 pm (appt time) they didn’t take my car back until an hour and a half later because they were running behind. They said they had a tire sale that was backing them up, but I do feel if you made an appointment that should give you priority. Anyway, an hour and a half later my car is finished and there is no charge on there for an oil change. They said it wasn’t communicated to them that I needed one, although I told them twice (once over the phone, second time when dropping off the car). Just the alignment took 1.5 hours. I also found out that my vsc light was still flashing even after I mentioned my concern at the beginning of the appointment. I’m currently still sitting here in the lobby waiting for my car 3.5 hours after my appointment time. No accountability or reparations whatsoever. Just trying to sell tires and not take care of customers.

This place would make the DMV look like world class service. Arrived for my appointment (made several days in advance) to get new tires at 9am. They tires weren’t there! I had to leave they told me they’d arrive in an hour. I had to wait until 3pm then it took 2.5 hrs to install the new tiers. Literally the most disorganized, slowest, worst service I’ve ever received. Go anywhere else

Genuinely the worst mechanic experience I’ve ever had. Had a reservation for brakes at 10am and didn’t leave until around 5pm. Tell your costumers how long it’s going to take so they can find a ride and not waste an entire day in that waiting room. If I didn’t want to leave that shop so bad I would have asked for a discount.

Extremely poor service! Employees were clearly irritated with each other from the moment we walked in. Got there to purchase and mount 4 new tires at 11 AM on a Sunday thinking it would only be a few hours. Left and got lunch after being told it would be about 3 hours. Returned after that time to my truck being UNLOCKED and unmoved. Mounting tires, even alone, should only take 30-45 minutes TOPS. Very frustrating when they can’t communicate or provide prompt service. Had someone gave me a call to let me know it was going to be a little longer or treated me like a paying customer it wouldn’t have been an issue. The lack of respect for others, including other staff members was the final straw. We walked out and went down the street to the West Valley location, where we have had an extremely pleasant experience.

The front desk staff were very nice. Long story short, they broke studs (not necessarily their fault) but didn’t quote the labor cost of replacement. They completed the work before I knew of the cost and had gotten a reasonable quote from an alternate source. They did work with me on the labor cost of stud replacement. It took an awfully long time for them to mount and balance four tires, even with the broken stud side quest. 3+ hours The mount and balance ($27.xx per wheel) was prepaid through Giga-tires.com, but they still affixed a $17+ shop supply fee.

Made a 9:30 a.m. appointment for an alignment — because, silly me, I thought appointment meant something. Showed up right on time. Apparently, so did two other cars… for the one alignment rack. Because why not? Chaos builds character. Tim at the counter (our fearless narrator) assures me that one of the 9:30s beat me there, so they’re up first. Cool, no problem — I’ll sip my coffee and wait for my turn in this mystical land of make-believe scheduling. Fast-forward to 10:40. First car’s off the rack. Mine? Still sitting in the parking lot like a forgotten Amazon return. 11:00 a.m. rolls around, and Tim insists, “They’re pulling it in right now.” Cute story, Tim — except my truck is still basking in the morning sun exactly where I parked it. We took our keys, our dignity, and left. If you’re into waiting, broken promises, and creative fiction, this place is for you. Otherwise, find a shop where the employees and the truth actually show up on time. If honesty were horsepower, this place wouldn’t start.

I had an appointment for 11. My car didn’t go back until 1:30. What’s the point of having an appointment if it doesn’t do anything. I can understand being a little behind but a hour and a half! And Steve should not be in customer service. He’s rude and makes you feel like you are bothering him.

Steven was great and so was Melissa (I think that’s her name) I was very impressed on their hospitality, they definitely looked out for my best interest. I took my car back for new tires, since I was a previous customer I got a wonderful deal. 10/10 recommend

Came in with a screw in my tire with 2 hours left in the day. I worked in the tire industry for over ten years and am very familiar with what tires can and can’t be fixed. The guy at the service desk refused service, and sent us down the street. I am of the belief he simply didn’t want to perform a repair. First and last time I ever go into a Pep Boys.

I made an appointment yesterday over the phone for Sunday at 12 PM at Pep Boys in Sandy, Utah, to have my car A/C checked. When I arrived exactly on time, I was told that another customer had also been scheduled for 12 PM for the same A/C service due to their computer system double-booking appointments. They didn’t start working on my car at 12 PM as planned. The manager explained that because the other customer arrived a few minutes before me, they would be serviced first, and I’d have to wait hours before my car could even be looked at. I have no complaints about the manager, Steve. He was polite, professional, and tried to handle the situation as best he could. My issue is entirely with Pep Boys’ scheduling system, which is completely illogical and a waste of customers’ time. If you only have one machine and one technician for A/C service, you shouldn’t allow multiple appointments for the same time slot. At the very least, you should call and notify customers if this happens, instead of making us lose hours of our day sitting and waiting. To make matters worse, after the service was done, I got my car back and found that my interior had been ruined. I had just spent $220 on a full interior detailing the day before. My carpets and mats were perfectly clean when I dropped the car off. When I picked it up, even though there was a paper floor mat, the carpet underneath and the lower panel under the steering wheel were covered in oil, grease, and dirt. It’s so bad that it won’t just wipe off – it’s now stained and will require another professional cleaning to restore. Steve tried to help by wiping it down, but it only made it worse. He spread the grease around and sprayed some kind of harsh chemical that smelled terrible, to the point where I had to ask him to stop because it was unbearable. I hope the manager reads this and offers me compensation, because now I have to spend my own time and money to fix the mess this location left behind. I do not recommend this place at all. If you absolutely must go here, demand they fully cover and protect your interior before they work on your car. I thought that would be obvious given my light beige interior, but apparently not. This is by far the worst service experience I’ve ever had anywhere. Completely unacceptable.

What can I say. Another dirty non-caring mechanic shop. I had my floor mats clean prior to going here. When they got done, FILTHY. Not only that, my gray key was black. No paper floor protector and obviously they don't wear gloves or clean their hands when they get in your car. All I can say is do better. Before and after pictures of my floor mats. Update: I am changing this to a 1 star. I was told I needed rear brakes with urgency. I found this a little odd because I just had new tires put on at Big O the week prior and they did not say anything about the brakes. So I pulled the car on the garage and jacked it up and did an inspection. The results, plenty of pad, smooth rotors and zero issues with brakes. Last time I ever trust my vehicle with Pep Boys. Mark M is not a trusted employee or his management team has taught them to be dishonest.

I called the day before and scheduled an apt. Showed up for the appointment to be told there was a 4 hour wait for an allignment. I dropped off the car and came back later. In the mean time I received a notification that a free inspection was done to my vehicle and I needed the following work. FRONT BREAKS REAR BREAKS FRONT TIRES (tire feathering) Rear end work I took this car in because I replaced the front spindles and lower control arms last week. I inspected the entire front suspension and breaks as they had to be removed. THEY ARE FINE! The tires are 1 month old. There is no wear on the tiresm the rotors and pads are new as are the rear. Trying to scam. Took my car for the either day when I had an apt. 30 min wait in the lobby when I came to pick up the car. Also my trunk was open when I returned to pick up my car. Very strange.

This place is terrible! I called to verify they had my tires in stock and to set an appointment. They guy on the phone seemed irritated that he had to speak to me. This should have been my sign to go somewhere else! He told me to save the quote online because sometimes the computer does crap that he can't with the prices. It was 10am at this point. I said to him, “I'll also just book the 11:30 spot that showed upen on the website at the same time”. He then said his earliest appointment was 1pm because he already has an appointment at Noon. Then went into how the website doesn't know that they are short handed and only had two techs today. Not a huge deal so I booked the 1pm apointment with him. I showed up at 1pm on the dot. It appeared to be the same person I spoke to on the phone as his poor customer service and distain in talking to me continued. He then tells me it would be about an hour for the new tires. I felt that was a little long considering the appointment, but I just said okay and left him my keys. After TWO hours I walked over to ask about my vehicle. The same guy tells me he doesn't even think they’ve pulled it into the shop yet, and they would get to it when they could. After that statement he then asks me what vehicle was mine! Luckily for him I noticed that my vehicle was on the lift in the shop! He then says your vehicle is almost done. Despite my vehicle being in the air with the tires off and him saying it was almost done they took almost another 40min to complete my vehicle. Almost Three hours with an appointment for four new tires is a joke! They also left bead lube all over the tires and rims. Discount on took 45min with no appointment on my last set of tires. They just didn't have my size I stock. Next time I will wait for Discount Tire! This will be the last purchase at any Pepboys for me.

Slow, wrong info, and bad/incorrect installation Made an appointment for 4 tire installation and rotation 3 days in advance. Said 45 mins and took 2 hours on a quiet Thursday. Now I'm looking and they installed 2 tires the wrong direction. Driver rear and passenger front. While I was on hold for 10 mins, I decided to not allow them to make another mistake and fix their first mistake on my own. Terrible.
