This place is never open on Saturdays. I have gone multiple Saturdays. It says that they will be closed for a short period of time or they just never open if you’re not going to be open on Saturday change your time online so people can stop wasting their time traveling with a trailer full Of metal this is probably the last time I come here there’s a place on Highway 82 with better prices. I’ll be going there from here on out. It’s only 15 extra minutes.

We worked hard cleaning brass and copper to donate to a child in need. I made the Colossal mistake of sending my wife here to sell it. They took full advantage of her and took us to the cleaners. Unfortunately; These funds were going to help a child with a severe illness. I guess this scrap yard wanted the money more. Karma will settle this debt.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DON'T WANNA BE SCREWED. Took 8 condensing units full of copper and aluminum. I had a $400 dollar load, easily. Know exactly what i had. They called the "owner" who said he could only give me an extra 3 cents a pound. The girl behind the counter proceeded to only give me the price of tin for the whole load, no extra "3 cents" a pound Lmfao! Hey Stinkys if you wanna make it right let me know when my check for $223 more dollars is ready and I'll come get it. And I'll consider changing my review. How many customers do you screw with just "tin" prices on a daily basis??

I would personally never go into this place even if I had the opportunity to need to I would go a different location unless you can afford flat tires and a disrespectful environment. Just remember you have to unload your own items so if you bring things, make sure you can take them off by hand because they don’t like to help with their machines at all And that’s if they’re even working at the time

Doesn’t value other people time. The unloaded truck that came in after I did. Go to Sherman Metal Recycling much better keep.

Would have given them a "-1 star". Brought in 3 boxes mixed with aluminum and steel, and two truck brake rotors. Guy weighs it, and I have no idea what their readouts are. When I weight them at home, they totalled 113lbs. When I placed the rotors on the scale, the guy picks them up, and throws them to the ground missing my right foot by an inch. For everything they only offered me a little over lousy $9. What a rip off, not going back there again. I got more scrap metal and will be taking my business now somewhere else.

I came in not knowing anything and Sandra was incredibly helpful. She seemed like she genuinely cared about me getting the best information possible. I would absolutely drop by, if not for scrapping then just to say hello to Sandra. Phenomenal service, 10 out of 10.

Sandy is the owner and has a very bad attitude, very impatient and didn't want to answer any of my questions to resolve a problem. I strongly reccomend NOT using this company as they suffer from the generational curse of pride. To be a successful business owner in America all business owners muse be PATIENT, give clarity when questions are asked so that both parties have a mutual understanding before closing a deal. I suggest that this business learn how to serve customers instead of wanting to be served by customers. On top of it all Sandy took a vehicle & unsigned title without the owner being present. She made the statement that "she would just turn her head" while the person that didn't own the vehicle signed the car title. A metal yard cannot take a vehicle and title without the owner being present. The tow truck driver even cursed out someone just because they made a statement and also asked a question. See picture.

First, they do not answer the phone, and second, it looks like they changed their schedules just now as I'm writing this

I’ve been coming to Stinky’s for years, I’ve never had a bad experience. If you know how scrap works they pay better than most places! Polite , fast drop off and a great layout for scrap. Highly recommend!

Been calling a few days to see if they are open at all during holiday season but they NEVER answer their phone. Website said open until 4:45p whole time so yesterday (Thurs 12-29) loaded & tied down several big bags of cans & other aluminum. Got there to find gates locked & sign stating closed until Jan 10. Wasted an hour & more than 3 1/2 gallons of expensive gas driving 60 miles round trip because they neglected to let anyone know they will NOT be open.

This was the first time to ever recycle scrap metal. As a women I was a little nervous. When I arrived I was greated by a female employee who explained how things were done. The man who unloaded the scrap from the back of my truck was also very helpful. When I was done and went to the office, I was greeted by another nice lady! Great experience! Thanks Sandy and Laura

I've never recycled my aluminum cans before so I was a little lost when I arrived. This review is to the woman who helped guide me to the scale, thank you for your efforts. Even after receiving my money she blessed me with a generous encounter. Humanity is irreplaceable! May God bless you, a true earth angel!

I have never been so thankful for a place to honestly cheat us ####wow thanks for the knowledge and wisdom for this incident. I'm so thankful that I gave my old life to God last Sunday evening. I'm a truly blessed man and if those people can live with there selfsame at the end of the day we can totally live a honest life and the reason we went back to this place was to make my words mean what I told the man that let me borrow $20 for gas so we could get back ho.e cause we were 5mins late. And guess what happened I showed up this morning like I told the man I would and there's your money that they kept I'm not going to stand for this one 1⃣

Helpful employees. Removal of loads is done with an excavator, not a magnet, therefore, dump trailers and gooseneck flatbeds will have a distinct unloading advantage over more common "utility" or "low deck" open bed "bumper pull" trailers. Additionally, even for a scrap yard, this place is very messy,

Terrible service and a rip off. Bring in an aluminum engine for scrap and they pay you for the price of IRON. IRON! instead of aluminum. Then they threaten to call the cops if you argue with them about them cheating you. Avoid this detestable place.

They have always been every fair and helpful. The young lady setting at the desk on the right is very respectful.

I have been to two other scrap metal in Sherman, but since this was closer I thought I’d try it. Big mistake! Being new and not knowing where to go people jus pointed. I asked a young man what to do with my copper and he said just set it aside in your trailer. After passing by one bucket operator, I finally got to the right bucket operator, he pointed where to go, then immediately started pushing stuff off my trailer (along with my copper which was picked up and thrown into a huge pile with the rest of the metal). When he couldn’t get any more off with the bucket, he pointed at me to clean off the rest. The last frustration was being blocked by one of the big rigs being loaded to go out. They again did not talk to me about how to ge around it, but just pointed. I started to go, but saw the space was too narrow and stopped until finally a guy came around and move a few 50 gallon barrels for me to literally inch past the truck. Worst experience ever!

Don’t say you open at 7am.. and then not help a customer when they get there at 7:10. I saw about 4-5 guys messing around in the back area, acknowledged that I was there, and still did not ask if i needed anything therefore i left.

I took over 200 rotors in and they told me I only had 1880 lbs. Even if all of them weighed 10 lbs which they were heaver than that. So I would not recommend taken any thing at all here even for convenience. They rip you off. And make u feel dum for asking.

If you're going to close at 4:45, then say so or update your hours on Google instead of deceiving me when I drove 40 minutes with my car full of items there. That's false advertisement. And gas is expensive. I used to work at a restaurant and the restaurant would close at 9. If I refused to let a customer in at 8:59, I would risk getting fired. Never stepping foot in here again.

Talked to a girl on the phone. Told her I'd never been to a scrap yard before. Explained what part I was looking for. Asked her how it worked. At first she said I could come in and look. I asked for a further explanation. (Like, what?) She couldn't answer basic questions about stuff. So after talking to someone else in the room, she hung up on me.

Called to confirm that they were open until 5:30 and was told by the woman on the phone that they were indeed open until 5:30. Drove 30 minutes to get there and arrived at 5:15 only to find out that they were in fact NOT OPEN! I’ve never been so angry. If you are going to tell someone on the phone that you are open until 5:30, STAY OPEN UNTIL 5:30! Never going back there.

Cool place to go unless you want to go on Sundays, if you gotta go on a Sunday be there between 12:30 and 3 or you're beat it's not happening. On multiple occasions I've called to confirm a 5:30 close time to be told yes doors close at 5:15 shown up at 4:30 to locked gate

They need a dedicated receptionist or someone who can answer calls without alienating customers. When I called for some information the lady that answered was giggling and fooling around, then gruffly spouted into the phone, "hello," as if I were inconveniencing her by calling. I had to ask where I just called as there was no indication which I absolutely hate with any sort of business. They're more expensive than the other scrap yards in the area and their customer service is absolutely lacking. Kind of explains why they have so much of everything where the other yards in town have a pretty consistent flow of scrap. Used once, will not use again if I can help it. Only didn't got to 69/82 Metal Recylcers because they didn't have the item I needed, which was even $5 cheaper. As a side note be sure to check any 55 gallon drums they take in as some are used for some pretty hazardous materials and they do not dump out the excess or even check the inside when receiving them.

Just called to get some general information as I have never scrapped anything in my life. The call ended up being just an angry old woman screaming at me for 5 mins. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I would reccommend Stinkys fires that woman, though I don't remember her name. I've never been treated so bad not even by my own enemies! What horrible people to do "business" with. And, judging by the other comments they are crooks on top of it all. Good luck staying in business Stinky's. Your service poop, so no wonder you stink.

Today was the first time at Stinkys and I will never ever go there again. They flat out ripped me off. I had at the very least $75 bucks worth of clean #1 aluminum and I received 15 bucks because the thief outside weighing it said it was dirty painted! It was all threshold from auto doors in a walmart!
