We had a dumpster at our business. We were doing a clean out of some scrap we filled up one of seatons dumpsters they came and got it full of aluminum. They never paid for the metal they picked up from us. I've called many times and Russ the owner never returns my call. Its been over five months! He has made money off my metal and he essentially stole a ton of metal product from my business. Whatever you do don't do business with him.
Worst business to go to. Not friendly people. And even if you call on your way up there they will lower the price when you get there. I took a deep cycle marine battery in, and they only wanted to give me the same price they gave me last week for a lawn mower battery. Completely ridiculous
Wouldn't take a few bags of cans at 11:40 AM because they close at 12 on Saturday. Wasted trip, gas, time and work because I will have to unload them for the work week and load them again next week. I would recommend going somewhere else as my weights always always was lighter here for about the same truck loads each time to different places....
Also it is true. They employed people at the location just watch you do all the unloading unless Russ the owner
is around. Then they are employees of the year doing everything they can
Don't expect any help unloading cans you do all the work and he gives you a ticket. If it is your first time you are suppose to already know what to do.
Been scrapping copper for 20 years and today I got told that copper pipe that had all the solder joints cut off and no corrosion was #2. Never in the 20 years I have been doing this has that ever been the case. I called another scrap yard down the road to verify and they told me that they would take it as #1. I will never take anything back to seatons to scrap again.
This place was a mess. And I mean a mess

The was this huge mud puddle you had to drive through to get on the scale. Wouldn't take half the scrap metal that I had. told me i have to return in 5 days to pick up a check that I had for the copper
I'm sure I could go on. Needs new owners.
January 7, 2020 we are plumbing company tearing down our old building and building a new warehouse we had 2500 pounds of brand new copper 100 pounds of brass and copper for the most part was in singular 5 gallon buckets. The brass was sparsely scattered over the top upon arriving at the scale the Latino running the scale said that he could not except it like That. That I had to go home and separate everything completely and be willing to unload everything by myself what the heck has happened to Seatons the handicap young man that used to work the scales took care of me for many years and did a fine job. I’m now 65 years old wearing Wrist braces on both hands I told him it would only take a second for us to separate it he did not have time I was having a great deal of difficulty understanding what he was saying so he wrote it down for me which I could not read it was terrible writing. So I took the load home I will never take nothing back to seatons
again. I took it to another salvage yard five guys jumped on it had it separated in about three minutes
unloaded it told me to come back anytime pleasant experience I took my $3000 worth of copper to them and they were happy to help will never go back to Athens again

I came here with my mom to scrap a car. An arrogant a-hole in the back had zero respect for us. Maybe he was having a bad day? Then the woman at the front desk was even more distasteful. Y'ALL JUST PLAIN RUDE.
The whole process took 4x longer than it should have.
I don't know about metal pricing, but I know the price of my time. And Seaton Athens wasn't worth it.
Called to ask if they had a type of steel that I needed for sale. They said they don’t know that I would have to come there. So I drove an hour there and was told to find one guy out of the bunch. Finally find him and stand there for 15 minutes before he acknowledges me. We get in a vehicle and start to drive around the lot at an absolute crawl. Then a couple of guys come up and ask for his help in finding what they need and he completely stops looking for what I needed to start helping these other guys with multiple things. These new customers both said multiple times that they could come back through the week and I stated several times that I was only available in Saturday. So after the other guys find what they needed he goes back to helping me and we find what I need. As we find it his phone rings and some lady tells him it’s quitting time and he just looks at me and says sorry it’s closing time you’ll have to come back. Wouldn’t take but just a few minutes for me to pay and load but I guess they didn’t want my money. I’m glad I didn’t buy from them I just wish I had all of my wasted time back.
