What clients say about O'Reilly Auto Parts in Dayton Spur (TN)

I had to come in today for a passenger side brake light. Jon not only helped me in finding what was needed but replaced both my back brake lights in my jeep for me. He was not only the kindest person I've ever encountered coming in a parts store but was so genuine and I can't say thank you enough for employing such a great individual. Kiddos

These people are the best. I’m from out of state bike broke down they opens the back of the shop, let us pull in, borrow tools and get out of the heat. Y’all pull in there and buy stuff. I greatly appreciate you.

Great place for car parts. I love that they track all your purchases, so you don't need a receipt for returns or warranties.

Very knowledgeable staff. Pricier than some competitors, but the staff knowledge makes up for that.

If you ever need expert help or advice, ask for the Parts Guy, Greg. The most kind, helpful, and happy employee I’ve ever had the good fortune to help me with my car troubles. Good job, O’Reillys

Orileys is about the best parts store around since all the mom and pop parts stores are gone.

Bought a $300 battery in 2021 and somehow it doesn’t show I ever purchased it. I am of the belief a past employee pocketed my money. They refused to warranty the battery. Will no longer do any business there

Traveling on vacation. When my engine light came on young man came out right away hooked up the computer and checked out my truck within seconds. Luckily it was just a sensor and I'm still good to go. Thank you O'Riley for giving me peace of mind .

Kim was a great help with our battery and went above and beyond to find what we needed.

Really helpful with their code reader. But the air conditioner in the store is broken. It is most uncomfortable to shop in the store at O'Reilly's Dayton, TN!

Never let's me down, I needed a AC belt. Purchased one from advanced and it was too short. They had all belts listed in thr wrong length for my truck. Got a refund went to oreilys and when the lady pulled it up I asked her the length of the belt and it was the correct size the first time. Only reason I went to advanced it because they had the black light pen kit with the refrigerant. Shouldve went to oreilys first for my actual parts. Thanks again

This review is ONLY FOR THE LOCAL STORE... ONLINE STORE IS TRASH. This local store did everything that they could to help me. Kimberly was very helpful and understanding. The parts I ordered online were the crankshaft main bearings. They came from O'Reillys online store and they were opened and badly damaged. I sent photos of the bearings to the shop and they said that they were no good and for me to return them. The problem is this, my truck is taken apart and we needed the parts TODAY but now we are having to wait until Monday for the parts to get here. All because O'Reillys online store sold me garbage. If I would have put them in without checking them out then I could have costed myself $5,000 - $8,000 from damage to my engine from these defective parts. And don't bother with contacting corporate or the 1-800# because they will not help you. They will only tell you to return it and order again. They will not try and help get you NEXT DAY AIR for FREE since they shipped me the damaged part. I will NEVER use O'Reillys again. The 5 star review is for the LOCAL STORE.... THE ONLINE. STORE IS GARBAGE AND DOESNT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR.

Always a great place to go. They know their stuff and has what you need or can get it.

My little 100 pound daughter went in to pick up some heavy bearings for her altima. There were multiple men inside. One assisted her with her purchase, yet after getting her money and setting the parts on the counter ignored her. These full grow men watched as my little 100 pound daughter struggled to carry the parts out to her vehicle; not one of them offered to help her or even hold open the door for her. You might need to consider hiring some real men who have a little common courtesy in them. What a disgrace.

This O'reilly did a good job. The only reason I could not give 5 stars, was the part I ordered. One of the mounting points was broke off. Now, I have to wait for a replacement.

I honestly never went in the store as I was meeting someone to sell my stuff. From what I can see it was very clean outside and it was easy in and out of the driveway.

Went to get a new battery. Claims to do installation for free on the battery but not when it’s raining.(It was barely sprinkling) Went to Auto Zone and they laughed. Then went to the other nearest o’rileys and they laughed as well and installed it no problem. Will never visit this location again.

Give the folks at this store some classes on customer service. Wayne was polite on the phone. Chris was polite a couple weeks ago. Kim, the manager, does not help customers & is quite brisk, bordering on rude. I had to start the conversation with her after starting at her from six feet away, across the counter, for a mental count of forty. I was the only customer in the store, & she seemed surprised when I said “good morning”. I was going to upgrade this review to two stars, because a regional manager did contact me about that last experience with the manager, Kim. However, I then had the following experience with Charles, so one-star it is. I would not have returned to this store, but the starter I purchased was bad, and needed to go there for the warranty. A quick story about my last visit: Charles is VERY rude, unhelpful, and a straight-up liar, which is a term I use very carefully. I brought in a bad starter; I know it was bad. He said he had to test it, which I knew he would have to do. I told him it may take ten tests to fail. I heard him test it twice, yet he claimed he tested it "a bunch of times". He refused to exchange it. I asked if customer satisfaction was part of the guarantee at Oreilly’s, & he responded with “yes”. I said I’d like another starter, as I knew that the starter was my problem. I was a bit forceful, b/c of my frustration, but I was still polite & respectful. When he returned with my new reman’ed starter, I, being the overly polite person I am, tried to offer some apologies for being a bit frustrated. His response was that he “didn’t have time for it” & he accused me of being “vulgar”. That did anger me, but I was still respectful. In absolutely NO way could anything that I said be construed as vulgar by even a little old lady in Church. I asked him multiple times how was I “vulgar”, and his response was that he wasn’t “gonna tell” me, which makes it clear that this was a lie. When I told him that I would contact management over this issue, he said “go ahead”, which tells me that he has no fear of repercussions & that he can treat customers however he likes with impunity. If I need to replace a item it an O’Reilly’s warrantee, I’ll drive the extra fifteen miles to Soddy-Daisy. I don’t have these experiences other places, so I really don’t think I’m the jerk here. Charles did not want to help me from the jump & had I not pressed him about the satisfaction guarantee, I would still be dealing with a starter that sometimes just clicks until it doesn’t do anything at all. Also, my new starter has cranked the vehicle 36 times without a hitch since the exchange, so even though their test said it was good, it was not. I had eliminated every other possibility before I went to the store, yet I was treated as though I was wrong & just trying to get something for nothing. I didn’t even have the previous starter for 24hrs before it started acting-up, so I do feel vindicated on that issue. This reminds me of Wal-Mart & the battery tester – anyone who has dealt with them once, knows not to do so again.

I have some old but very useable automobiles and so far I've have found the real proper parts that are the best for the uses of my autos'. Example such as it is I could order and get six bolt of the torque converter to flywheel as is the best for GMC K2500 Suburban while auto parts will only sell to you a three bolt type, in all fairness it will be able to do the job at hand but, this not how GMC built the truck for off roading as this truck was used for US Forestry Service Ambulance which required some really bad terains while it did the job for many a year. then bought it. And I wanted to keep ready for such tasks. Well O'Reily's lets me keep it right and not in just a will do state of operation. Plus They did not require an arm and a leg for the best to use. I'm really sold on these types of auto parts companies, that do both! Oh worked for GMC Trucks' almost all of my life well over twenty years at that, I'm now about to be 82 years old in three months and retired form mechanicing. I still do work on my own stuff and some that churches send to me, every now and then. I first work at Chevrolet Dealer, (Truck-Shop), back in 1969.

Their parts are better than Advance and I don't have to wait in line as long.

You talking about a company that puts customers above all. I will always be grateful for the Oriellys Auto Part store. They was very kind once again, and this happened tonight. A party that we had to have no options left they was kind enough to wait a few minutes before closing. Un like the awful Advance Auto Part store which cares more about closing early then helping there customers. Thank you all

I have to travel to get parts, or do any shopping for that matter, from my secluded homestead 45 minutes away and the next county over. I truly enjoy coming to O'Reilly's in Dayton because of two people, Christopher and Joshua. They make me feel like "one of the guys" and I truly enjoy that feeling, especially since I'm not able to get out much because I was left disabled from an workplace accident back in 2016. Having to slowly walk with a cane and being in severe pain causes me to shop mostly online and limits my trips out, but being able to laugh and interact with Christopher and Joshua for just a little bit, I've actually found myself looking for reasons to need something to work on with one of my vehicles. If you read this, and go to O'Reilly's in Dayton, Tennessee be sure to tell them "that crazy storm chaser you know sent me", they'll know who your talking about. And be sure to thank Joshua for his service to our country as well.

Wish they stocked more parts or they're staff were more motivated. It can take forever to get service here but advance isn't much better either. Everyone takes their sweet time.

Preston told me give him a min to check the battery in my truck Till he got some people took care of . Never happened the asst manager Josh has little to no knowledge about anyting

It was ok well stocked and the employees tried to be helpful. The guy at the desk told me the taillight I needed was wrong and that he knew what I needed without taking the time to match with the blown bulb I had. So guess what I got the wrong one I wound up having to go to advanced to get the one I needed. If you go there make sure u have your facts on what part you need and don't let em talk you out of it.

They had no idea what a spark plug tester was and the 'new' 'unopened' digital multimeter they sold me came with a manual for a completely different brand of meter. I've had similar experiences at other automotive stores so no big deal. They tried and that's all that matters. ?

I have shopped at this location since it opened. Recently had a bad salesman who isn't willing to help his customers. Guess I will find another place to buy auto parts.
