With so many automotive repair shops in the area, I've found Socastee Automotive to consistently be the best. Fair pricing, and excellent work - I was tired of getting ripped off at the dealership, Socastee Automotive is now the only place I go. I cannot recommend it enough.

I found myself needing a car repair when I was in the area. Office staff was friendly and helpful when I called. When I arrived I was greeted immediately and they took my car right back. They had my car fixed very quickly and at a very competitive price. Highly recommend!!!

Took our car in quickly. Lots of bells and whistles going off. Only a battery and they reset old alerts that the Chevy dealership did not even though they had it 3 times.Thanks again nice to see an honest car place.

I had a issue with my battery I live out of town and John did excellent job and service on my vehicle the best place to come if you have any issues with your vehicle I highly recommend Socastee Auto

Had a car issue when on vacation in Myrtle beach. While no one I call could fit me in the friendly people at socastee helped me out the best they could immediately! Glad I found them!

Do Not Take Your Car Here! My engine died and they charged me $2000 to repair. 10 days later the engine seized for good. They then accused me of abandoning the car there while I was waiting for the title to arrive in the mail. Absolute scam no doubt. Do not go what I went through.

I took my truck to Socastee automotive for repairs. They claimed they couldn't find any issues and charged me $62. I took it then to Preston's automotive and that wonderful mechanic found that I had two battery drawers that could only be fixed by the dealer. He charged me nothing. I know Socastee automotive weren't able to start my truck even though they said it stated right up. The clock was reset, the A/C was on. So I know they lied. If you want your vehicle fixed right.... Take it to Preston automotive. They will treat you right.

Fast & Friendly Service. Zach & Company got my 43 year-old P30’s brake & suspension parts ordered, installed & back on the road in record time. They will be our vehicle service team from now on.

Poor communication. They shouldn’t schedule for you to drop off your vehicle if they know they can’t work on it till the next day or two. No updates or a common courtesy phone call to let you know they are going to have your vehicle days longer than what you were told. Definitely not the place that it used to be.

I went for a/c work. $800.00 and it stopped working again ! $450.00 and two weeks later it's blowing HOT air again. Take it back and they wanted $800.00 more for a FIFTY TWO DOLLAR part plus an easy two hour labor ! THEY ARE NOT an honest repair shop. They got me good but I will tell everyone to stay away from Socastee Auto ! !

Always had excellent service from here and it went from great to horrible in one visit. Long-time customer and got plenty of patches for my tires there for years. I live in an area where I can’t avoid the nails and they are a problem a frequent problem. Nonetheless I’ve always been there to have my tires patch. I don’t get plugs on any tire of any kind for any reason because that is just an emergency resolution and it requires a new tire immediately. Well I went to Socastee automotive and dropped off my tire to get a patch they were to call me so that they could install the tire and the whole day went by they closed they never called me. Then the next day they call me bright and early and tell me that they plugged my tire and that it’s on the sidewall so I need a new tire . When I explain to her that I didn’t ask for a plug I asked for a patch I know what a plug does and a plug is always a new tire. Her response was we don’t patch tires we only plug them. Now this place has been in business for years and I have always gotten patches there that probably would’ve worked for a new customer but not for me. You have lost my business of any kind not just my tires.

Had to get a new tire for my car and needed an oil change. I came too late in the day to have same-day service. Was called the evening before to go over the options for a new tire, which I appreciated the honesty and care. Was done before lunch the next day and my little car has been doing great ever since. Runs much better now and will definitely return to get all my tires replaced by them and any car work I may need. Thanks fellas, Grade A service, courteous, timely, and professional. Would recommend family and friends to this business first.

Brought my car into this auto shop and they literally broke my power steering while trying to fix another problem. Then they charged me again to fix the power steering even though they had broken it. They accused me of lying and said that it must have been doing that before I gave it to them. They refused to fix the power steering without full payment. This was an absolutely terrible experience and I feel absolutely scammed. I will never return.

My husband and I took our car in to get get the steering fixed because it made a grinding sound when turning, but had no issues with the actually steering of the vehicle. They took 2 days to “fix” the problem that they said they would be done in 1. When we picked up the car it was un-driveable due to the car not turning at all unless accelerating at the same time (literally couldn’t back the car out of a parking spot because the steering wheel wouldn’t turn). When bringing the car back in because something had clearly gone wrong with what they did at the dealership, the mechanics told us that the car must have been doing that before they fixed it (which it wasn’t) and that we would have to pay an additional $500 to get the new issue fixed. This was a very frustrating and drawn out experience, and I would not recommend this automotive shop if you need something fixed.

I am from Connecticut, needed to have My Audi ac looked at, great service,thank God only needed a recharge. Will let family nearby in Myrtle beach know where to take their cars if need an honest, reliable and reasonable auto services

I have nothing but awesome things to say about this place! The owner Kevin is amazing! I have taken both of my vehicles here and my mother in law also! He’s always had them done same day and never had an issue. Ms. Gina at the front desk is kinda and polite! If you ever need any work done on your car, this is the place to go!

I absolutely am confident everytime I take my cars to Gina and Kevin . I appreciate the honesty that they show in their business . I highly recommend Socastee Automotive for car services. Have been going to see Kevin and Al since early 2000's. I was new to Myrtle Beach and needed a trustworthy mechanic. His staff is friendly and knowledgeable. He is open at 5am so an oil change before work is always convenient. I now live in Wilmington NC and still drive to Socastee Auto. Thanks Kevin and his dad Al

I brought my daughter's car in for... what I thought was a bad CV Axle. Turns out that I was wrong. There was nothing wrong and the guy's that test drove it and had it upon the lift assured me that there was nothing wrong. Well that's a good thing... but, they could have easily replaced it, I would have been okay with that. Nice to know that you can still bring your vehicle in for an honest answer... thanks so much for the honest truth!! ?

Good people, good service and decent prices. Called me with estimate before they when ahead with work. I would highly recommend. I am from our of town staying at Ocean Lakes and was recommended to go here by contractor working on one of the houses.

Wonderful people and excellent service! I was able to get my car fixed the day after I brought it in and it was ready in a couple of hours! I highly recommend them for your car needs.

I have trusted Kevin to take care of my cars for the last 15 years. When I got a new car I thought I wouldn't need him anymore but over the last 10 years he has changed the belts and put on new brakes and tires. He took great care of my BMW my Honda my Toyota and my GMC.

On vacation, picked up a sharp piece of metal in tire. Tire leaking air fast. The personal here fixed my tire the next morning under 30 minutes. All employees very nice and courteous. Highly recommend.

They did a good job of finding the issue and fixing it. However; they broke my driver's side handle said they would not replace it. So now that's another $100 I get to spend because of them. Soon after leaving, I got a tire pressure sensor alert. I then noticed my tires were all filled to 50psi! Not only is that well over the maximum pressure of 44psi, but any mechanic shop should know that you don't fill them to their max pressure. A sticker inside the driver's door tells you the proper pressure. In my case, it's about 35psi. The excessive pressure in the tires is very dangerous and will cause premature wear and tear. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. There are many other shop in the area that would likely do a better job.

Car developed shimmy while on vacation. I read good reviews here online. Took car in at 6:15 and got two used tires for front of car. I was back at camping cabin at 7. I'm happy with service and cost. Ready for trip home.

I got to the shop 16 minutes before close today with a rough running engine. I expected to be turned away, but Kevin's Dad said they'd go ahead and check it out. Within minutes they had it nailed down to a vacuum leak. They never charged me for the diagnosis. (Sears was going to nail me for $79 for the troubleshooting). Good family operation, professional, and accommodating. Keep up the great work guys!

Thank you so very much, the car drives so much better with the new tires. I went ordered the tires they gave me a time to come back NO waiting there, I came back bang bang boom and I was done. How wonderful I will come back for what ever I need done. You all are the best and friendliest bunch of people around and the prices are great
