Casella has always been on time for pick up. When a delay is caused by weather I am always notified by a voicemail. No complaints here.

Service is ok at best, You charge people even when you don't pick up their trash (that's theft btw), and when you call you are ALWAYS speaking with one of a few females that all treat you as if they are pissed off that you called and are forcing them to do their job! Absolutely terrible customer service! I've worked entirely in customer service my entire life and would never treat people the way you all do and keep my job.

Canceled service in December. It’s now February, and Casella is still charging my credit card. I have repeatedly tried to contact them by email and phone, with no response. Their phones are never answered. I even contacted their parent company and they stated they have no direct way to reach Casella, which is unbelievable for a utility service. When I initially canceled the representative assured me the garbage bins would be picked up within two days. It has now been two months and the bins are still on someone else’s property, buried under mountains of ice, due entirely to their negligence. This company takes your money but offers zero accountability or customer service.

Have NOT had my garbage picked up for 3 weeks. Yet my monthly rate continues to increase!!!! They have taken other customers in my community but not mine in Ski Haven Lake Estates. This is not the first time. One man will get out of the truck and get the garbage but the other driver does not. So now i have weeks worth of garbage, a hazard to my neighbors, a safety concern. I asked them if it would make sense if I got another provider since even in good weather they miss my garbage but I’m told they’ll get to it. DO NOT use this company. They won’t even refund me or give me a discount. My garbage is rolling down hills and into my neighbors property. Oh and the lady on the phone said asked about the property? I call at least once every few months to report them missing my garbage, how do you not know my property? I have described it multiple times, even called corporate about it. I’d think you could look up the notes or details on my property. I also pay for 2 homes trash removals. One home is $21.60 a month and THIS house that they miss several times a year or “forget” about is $54.68 a month, last year it was $49. So my rate increases and I get less trash pick ups. How does that make sense ?

When you pay for a service you expect it. Spent hours shoveling my driveway Sunday night to make sure my garbage was out for Monday pickup. They never showed up, ironically my neighbors garbage that was in a snow bank was taken. I am told they have no plan to return, I will have to wait until next week. No accommodations, no Thank you for being our customer for 10plus years, no thank you for paying on-time-NOTHING! Terrible service, increasing fees on the regular...go with Waste Management.

Thank you! We were originally an Eastern customer, and received terrible service at times. By the tone of the person who answered the phone regularly, you could tell she was receiving multiple complaints of the same issue. Yes we have a private road, yes there are times I expect the truck won’t make it because of weather, but there was no excuse for weeks not getting pickup when my little Toyota, Fedex, UPS, and all the neighbors drive on the road perfectly fine. Thank you Casella, again! Your driver made a pick up last week when we assumed (again) we would get no pickup. And one day late this week after snowstorm Fern. Kudos for taking care of a faithfully on-time paying customer. So far you guys rock!

Update: Just wanted to give an update. I received a call from the customer care manager. She was very sweet and addressed the concerns and gave me a direct line to reach her, so I am hopeful for better after speaking with her. We were with eastern for a few years, perfect in every way. Never missed a pick up, even in bad weather. Now that they have switched I have to find another company. They didn’t pick up our garbage for two weeks when I called the office, the lady was horrible and rude and said that I was lying and it was only one week they didn’t come. I said I’d be happy to show you since we have cameras everywhere. She then changed her tune and said I was right and the driver didn’t even come up our road. She would barely let me speak. It’s really a shame because I referred so many people to eastern and everyone was so pleased, now it’s just awful in every way. Eastern should have never sold to Casella.

Worst service. Casella has overcharged us multiple times. I’ve already called and complained twice and had to get refunds—this is now the third time they’ve sent an incorrect, overcharged bill. Customer service keeps claiming it’s due to a “missed payment,” which is impossible since our account is on auto-pay and we have records showing all payments were made on time and in full. We use Casella for a commercial property, and every few months they add new or unexplained charges and raise the bill. Extremely frustrating experience. I would not recommend Casella to anyone. If given the choice, I would switch back to GFL—they were far better.

Zero starts if possible, we always head bear straps and were told it was not a issue and the drive would undo the straps. All of a sudden now they changed their policy to where the drives are not allowed to undo them. So they would rather we have a bear strew garbage all over the road. Laziest and the most difficult company to get ahold of. Keep you on hold for over 30 minutes and then never call you back. Ever since Casella took over Eastern Waste the service is horrible. As soon as there is another company available that they haven't bought out (monopoly) I will go with them. If you can avoid them they do so.

Raised my bill several times within a year. They charge you for a month after breaking their contract. Call to cancel and they give you attitude. Interestingly they only answer calls every 45 minutes on a call back.

Hasn't shown up in 2 weeks..call customer service and on hold almost an hour and the rep is in Syracuse or some crap and can't help..no problem taking money, that is stealing when you have a contract and you don't fulfill it...

Had them service my house for about five months. They might’ve stopped and picked garbage up 3 times. Was lied to early this week about the truck not being able to make it down my road because of the snow… road was open. Today road is even worse than Tuesday and I watch them drive straight down my road past my house. What an utter rip off. So many headaches and problems over garbage pick up. Don’t bother using eastern waste and recycling either as casella owns them as well now. Will be switching to another company. They literally have the simplest job but yet can not properly do it. canceled services and will be going else where just as a suggest any one else to do.

This company has the worst garbage service I have experienced. Our garbage has not been picked up in over 3 weeks. During winter months, they do not pick up garbage if you live on side road and have any sort of snow even if road is treated. No other residents or services have issues getting up the road in the winter. The company continues to allow the to driver get away with this behavior. There is also no communication when they are and are not going to pick up garbage and we live in area where we can’t leave garbage out for extensive period of time due to animals getting into it. So frustrated with this service and will be looking into alternatives.

You guys are losing my patience and respect. Last month my wife and I had to replace our debit card due to fraudulent transactions. When you ran the credit card it didn't go through, and you suspended our service! We fixed this issue with you the same day, and now our garbage has not been picked up in 4 days!!! How is this even fair!? Should we cancel our service because you are not honoring your contract with us?! How about a refund for services not rendered? Yesterday I was on hold for an hour and could not get thru. We are on Terrace Street in Honesdale. Other neighbors have their Casella cans out and nobody has picked them up either. If they do get picked up today, it would be nice if the driver didn't drop them in the middle of our driveway making it impossible to for us to pull in after work without getting out of the car first. PLEASE FIX THIS, CREDIT US A FREE MONTH, AND MAKE SURE THAT THIS DOESNT CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. YOU CANT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. WE ALWAYS PAY ON TIME. Lastly, some communication from your corporation would be nice, nobody knows what's going on.

Absolute TRASH company. No pun intended. They miss multiple weeks, then you call and they’re the rudest people. Here is a picture of another miser trash week, 3 in a row. I’m happy to be canceling them finally and going with a much more capable company Destination Sanitation.

Zero stars if that were an option. This company is extremely unreliable and has terrible communication—no calls, no updates, no notice when they don’t show up. We constantly end up picking trash off the road because missed pickups lead to animals and wind getting into it. They skipped pickup during Christmas (the busiest trash week) and didn’t notify us until days later, then told us to leave extra bags out. We live in the country—leaving food and dirty baby diapers out for animals is not reasonable. They also randomly charge your account and make refunds difficult. When I called to cancel, the receptionist became rude the moment I explained why. Even returning the cans was disorganized and unclear. They clearly don’t care about their customers. Save yourself the hassle and take your business elsewhere.

Nice trucks, HORRIBLE service. I never had an issue with the company that these incompetent fools acquired, but it has been headache after headache since they took over. I pay for weekly pickup, but it seems like the driver picks & chooses who’s house to service. If you are in Dingmans Ferry, Pa & use Casella, I suggest you look elsewhere for household sanitation services. If enough of us dump them (pun intended), maybe they will leave the area so we can get a company that actually provides the service we pay for so we do not have to suffer anymore. I am done rewarding their failure with my money, you should as well.

This company is “garbage”. The price continues to increase. $20 more a month than other companies. I started using auto pay and within 2 months I started getting strange charges on my statement and fees. If you have an alternative I would use them instead

These drivers are that lazy they can’t get out of the truck and pick up the can for their customers so that they can get rid of their garbage. We can’t control the weather and if the wind knocks them down while I’m at work with 50 mph wind gust, How can the cans be picked up if no one’s home? That’s ridiculous. Losers

I didn’t think I’d ever regret leaving waste management, Casella made that regret happen!! Don’t use them if you can help it. Even waste management, says trash needs to be out by 5am. Casella apparently decided to come at 4am, no one puts trash out that early. Most of us can’t put it out the night before, not only because of bears but HOA RULES. I was told that the driver probably had an appointment….excuse me?! That doesn’t make it ok to show up that early. We just had another incident with Casella and pick up TWO WEEKS AGO, just two weeks. Do yourself a favor and go with a different company.

I’ve experienced multiple missed garbage pickups from Casella, which is simply unacceptable. My garbage is always on the curb, ready to go the night before and the trash can is as easy to access as it gets. Our bill is also always paid on-time, in full, no questions asked. I do not understand why or how missed trash pickups contour to occur. I’ve called Casella each time to work to resolve the issue, including offering up to make any changes on my end, but missed trash pickups keep happening. Unfortunately, Casella has proven to be incompetent at providing reliable residential trash pickup service. At this point, continuing to work with Casella is a waste of my time, energy, and money. I would not recommend Casella for residential trash service.

Stay away from this company at all costs. They no showed on a dumpster rental I had contracted for a Friday delivery and while I understand things come up/happen, there was no contact from them informing me there would be a delay or that my dumpster would not be delivered as expected. I called and left voicemails and an email, still heard nothing back about my missing dumpster. Two days later, still no courtesy call or communication from the company about my already paid for no show-missing dumpster. They were aware of our immediate need due to flash flooding from the recent storm and having to clean out our basement in order to begin addressing the standing water and water damaged carpet. They don't care about emergency situations where time is important regarding insurance and storm clean up. My biggest problem is that absolutely no one contacted me during my 14-hour delivery window to say it would not be coming. That is unacceptable. I wish I had read the other google reviews before choosing them. Don't be fooled by their undercut pricing, that $50 you think you are saving by choosing them over every other company will cost you more than that in the long run should they give you the same abysmal service they gave me and many other clients throughout Lake Ariel.

I have been waiting for a 10 yard rolloff that I ordered on July 3 rd ,called on the 7th to check on order. Was told it would be delivered in 2 days. On July 9th it was not delivered. Called was told it would be delivered be there on the 11th. Well it was other there . Loren said it was delivered and would c let n me know . Never called back. Texted Loren and called never heard from him. Called company after hour a women said she would check on order would let me know tonight or would get a call Saturday morning.Very upset with service. Hope it gets dealt on Saturday or Monday. Got call this morning stating rolloff on property. After many messages problem corrected Hope they have corrected miss information in office. Must say after many calls a problems with getting rolloffs . Company came through and took care of me. Pleaded with how I was treated.

I’ve been a customer of EWM for about 3yrs never did I have an issue with my garbage or any form of communication. Since it transitioned the communication is horrible. I spoke with someone on Friday about our garbage not being picked up she stated the driver hadn't arrived to my location at 1:30 which is unusual since the driver is usually here by 11:30. I tried calling again at 4pm left a message and no response, As of today our garbage was never picked up we had garbage all over with the wild animals getting to it, We had to pick everything up and drag the garbage cans back to our garage. I am absolutely disgusted and unsatisfied with the services and will be looking into a new company.

Casella is a great garbage trash removal service for any resident to utilize and secure! I live in Milford, PA and they have been very reliable, dependable, great customer service and never any issue. I had an ongoing issue with our old garbage company and Melissa was able to assist me immediately in fixing it within days…Her follow up, politeness, knowledge and attention to detail is second to none! Our garbage is picked up each week with no problem. The customer service staff and admins are all amazing in assisting you to get any/all issues rectified right away. If you secure them as your trash removal service, you will not be disappointed!! Thank you Casella for a continued job well done!!

I like the service that I get. They are reasonable in price. I had a company before this company they were terrible. Go pass my home when my garbage was out buy the road. They also started going up in price every time I called them. The staff with this company are very very nice. I have talked to many of them. When I called this last time, I talked to a woman named Tina, very nice and friendly. You need to know how your company is doing and I say great. Thank you . Mary.

Edit: All the number that was provided is just the same number to the same customer service people who tell me the same song and dance with no changes. They tell you they can’t come pick up your garbage because it’s too cold so it’s delayed. Then they don’t come on the delayed day anyway. Incredibly frustrating and unfair to pay for a service when you don’t get the service half the time. Begging people to just do their job. This garbage company is… hot garbage, to say the least. I’ve been using them for 2 months and I’ve had to call every single week (sometimes multiple times) to have them come pick up my garbage and/or recycling. Then when it’s a holiday week, they say they’ll pick up the next day, but it just gets blown off until the following week. The customer service people are nice enough, but just say the same exact thing every single time… “Well, they have until 7pm” or “Well they’re now out of the area for the day.” But the customer service people leave at 5:00 for the day and then you can’t reach someone when they don’t pick it up. Because they never pick it up when they’re supposed to. Or they’ll say, “let me look into that,” then completely ghost you or blow you off. I’ve watched them come through the neighborhood and just not take my stuff, WHY?? Is it laziness or what’s the disconnect here? I don’t get how this place is ran or why it’s so hard. Why am I paying for a service when I’m essentially begging them to come do their job each week and I go weeks without the service I paid for?? My bins overflow, I’ve had raccoons going through my stuff. And they had the audacity to tell me one time I had to get clear bags for the overflowing recycling to sit outside the can. So I have to go buy clear bags because you haven’t been doing your job?? Currently going on 3 weeks without my recycling being taken. I never leave reviews like this but I’m getting no real help from this company, complete waste of money and a rip off. Use another service if you’re able, I’m looking into other options.
