Awesome little nook, with history of water mill. Definitely worth a visit to explore.

To start, there was no signage to get here. When you do find the area, the bridge is locked and out of commission, it appears to be a very steep climb down to the waterfall with no definite spot that says “Tanner Falls this way” or similar, and there are all sorts of warning signs to wear bright colors during hunting season or risk being shot! When we headed here with our 9 year old with cerebral palsy, we had no idea there would be such issues. Hopefully I’ll save some people from wasting their time.

I visited the place last week with my two granddaughters. It was completely deserted and had no signage. I took the risk and access the waterfall via a small steep path off the dirt road on a cul-de-sac. I told my granddaughters not to try this on their own because it is a very dangerous place as it is not accessible by a main road and anything can happen to them and no one will know where they are. They should coordinate off the place with large signs, warning people to stay away.

Beautiful falls! I think the road in said locals only but I kept going ? it dead ends at the bridge and there's parking for a few cars. The hike down is short but mostly rocks, and very steep, hiking shoes advised. I wish I had brought my chair, so peaceful and gorgeous.

Quick and beautiful trails in a gorgeous part of Pennsylvania. The bridge is closed and, as I understand, will likely stay closed for a while, if not permanently. There is limited parking (4-5 spots) right by the bridge and some short trails leading down to both the falls and some ruins (from that parking area). The path is steep and slippery, so I recommend wearing hiking boots. I would classify the trails as moderate to strenuous, even though they are short. The falls and nearby area contain a lot of history, and I recommend looking into it further beyond what I can cover in this review. I hope they can save the bridge and at least allow pedestrians to use it. Visited 8/19/23.

Beautiful falls. Water was pretty rough when we visited so we didn't go in. Walk down is slippery, so be careful. Would visit again. The bridge seems to be out still.

A decent climb down to the bottom of the Falls. But is a great little trout stream.

Strong waterfalls after a night rain. Will bring a rope to go down close to the water next time. But be careful for the snakes

The waterfall and bridge area is very cool and a great experience! Getting to the falls was a bit more challenging and confusing. We weren't sure what/where to park originally, but ended up parking at the bottom of the gravel road after seeing multiple over vehicles there. The small pathway leading to a decent viewing area is quite narrow and definitely on the steep side.... not accessible for all abilities. The pathway gets even steeper before you can make your way closer to the water level. Proper hiking boots and bug spray are highly recommended. Tanners Falls is an interesting area to check out, but much more on the moderate to challenging side of trails with the steepness factor.

Beautiful scenery except for the trash IGNORANT people leave behind and throw out over the banks. Not much of a trail to walk but the fishing looks good.

Pretty cool waterfall about 15 minutes from honesdale. Down some old dirt road, but there is some space to park. If you want to actually see the falls from the bottom you have to climb down a small ledge, but it's definitely worth checking out.

If you are coming to see these falls there’s 2 ways you can get there. A parking lot at the entrance of the trail is fine but there isn’t a sign anywhere. The trail is up the road across from the lot, about 3/4 of a mile away, this road can also be taken to a small parking lot right next to the falls. We enjoyed the walk from the parking lot. Once you get there the bridge is “closed “ but a hole in the fence and you can walk through. Not sure if it’s allowed, the small trail down to the rock formation is awesome. There’s another trail past the large rock walls to the river. Some amazing rock walls down this path.

Road ends at falls. Difficult short trail to see the falls. Bridge is fenced off. Still, the falls are lovely

Loved this. Nice short easy walk. Drought so water wasn't running full. But still beautiful

We decided at the last minute to go see these falls. I only had flip-flops on and the hike down is short but a little treacherous without proper footwear! Nevertheless, for mid-July, the water was really running and beautiful. We're actually going back with proper shoes and the good camera. Definitely worth seeing if you're a waterfall lover.

Tanners Falls is a 15 minute drive out of town. It’s located on State game land with seasonally stocked fresh water trout. Perfect for hiking, fishing or a family photo shoot. Enjoy this 1.0-mile out-and-back trail near Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 26 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome.

For a photographer’s view this is an awesome place to photograph. Rough road to get there by car and a downhill to get to the falls walking, not easy access and a bit danger for children Not recommend for people with disabilities Very Quiet and nice to relax So if you in great shape and love photography or nature like I do it’s definitely recommend

If you're in the area it's a good quick stop. The falls are beautiful, it's just not a very big area.

The hiking trail is actually just a small road. We ended up driving our car all the way to the falls where there is a small parking lot. Nice scrambles, good spot for pictures. There's a waterfall plus some cool stone walls. In terms of distance, it's not really a hike. But we went mostly for pictures.

Tanners Falls is a picturesque spot that sees little traffic. There's not a tremendous amount to do here, but the falls are serene enough to easily pass an hour, while the changing seasons add enough variation to recommend return visits.

Amazing place! Calm and serene. It's located in the middle of nowhere, which helps in keeping the traffic low. A great private place for a picnic. Also, the area around the falls is open for hunting, so be safe if you plan to wander in the woods.

Why on earth can we not get to a point where we can look at the front of the falls? Everything is grown in. What I was able to see was nice.

Beautiful place unfortunately not much for trails for hiking. Trail to the falls for a great view but otherwise more of a Forestry bypass or hunting trail.

Very nice to be here, small trek to see the falls.. the access is through the tannersfalls rd, that is gravel and one way, so have to drive carefully... the location is picturesque.. worth spending 30 mins to get here and see natures beauty at a very close!! if your with kids, the hike is slightly challenging..

Bring a yoga mat and Hiking boots. A fantastic place to relax next to a waterfall. Swimming isn't recommend ,but is possible. Historic place.

Great place for a picnic or little walk in the woods. Fun and beautiful atmosphere for all ages. Easy hike or no need to hike at all. Falls are pretty and sound amazing any time of year.
