My appreciation to Republic Services to acknowledging and addressing my complaint. Republic Services took the time to contact us, look into the issue and then help us remedy the situation. It speaks highly of a business when they make the effort to assist a customer that has had a negative experience. Thank you!
So I've dealt with all sorts of waste management companies for work. These guys were friendly and helpful. I don't expect much when coming to a facility like this and from the other reviews I was expecting even less. I easily got the answers I needed and they were kind enough to get me out of the heat for a few minutes while helping me. It was in no way a negative experience.
I will start by saying Republic Services is not my refuse company.
Today as I pulled out from my driveway onto our neighborhood street recycling, mainly plastic bottles littered the lawns of 2 homes and the street. I saw Republic's refuse truck coming down the road and parked my car to talk with the driver about contacting their office. Yurly was very kind and parked his refuse truck and walked up the road picking up everything. He was so very sweet and apologized even though Advanced Disposal and Recycling had been down the road already and this could have possibly been their Recycling truck. This motivation and kindness is very rare with employees and people in general these days. I asked him for his photo to share because I was so taken back by his actions. I do hope that someone from Republic Services reads this and acknowledges what a special employee they have working for them. Yurly is an amazing man doing an amazing job!
Ridiculous rates and unprofessional customer service reps! I called about my rate doubling for no reason. When I called to get more information, the customer service rep was rude and didn't care to provide a detailed explanation for the rate increase. She said it was due to a recycling market instability and more information was on their website. I asked for her to explain it to me and she refused. Definitely cutting service.
After three years of Republic raising their rates for no reason and trying to bait and switch us on our three year contract we switched to Whitetail. It took three phone calls to cancel with Republic because we kept getting different answers from each customer rep we spoke with about when we could cancel. Now they have scheduled and missed three separate appointments to pick up their cans. They’re a mess and dishonest.
Since there is no information on their website I will tell you. They close 35 minutes before their "close time." They only take cash or check and the minumum dump fee is $138. I showed up at 11:10 on Saturday, didn't have enough cash so I told the operator I would run to the atm and be right back. I ran to an atm and was back at 11:25. The lady didn't come to the window until 11:30 and said she just closed out and refused to let me dump. I only had a small trailer load and just wanted to get rid of it despite the outrageous minimum dump fee but they refused to let me. On my way out, a got junk truck came in and they let it dump. Check around, there are other stations that have a $52 minimum and care about their customers. These people are horrible to the public. Avoid this place at all costs.
Don't go there at 11:35 on a Saturday because although their website says open till noon, they will turn you away. They only take cash or checks, no debit cards either. It would have been nice to know that before I drove 40 minutes after loading a dump trailer and paying workers to help rip a roof only to have a full trailer when I returned. Thanks Republic! It's 2017, get a credit card machine.
