The people at Whetzel are good people. They’re real honest and they do good work. I come from slippery rock and there are closer shops to me, but I still choose Whetzel. Good work at good prices.

In March, my car broke down, and I spent thousands of dollars on repairs at another shop. Less than a month later, my car refused to start again, so I got it towed to Whetzel's. They checked in regarding the prices and repairs before and after service and were endlessly helpful. One of the team members took nearly 20 minutes out of his busy day to answer some questions and concerns I had about my car.
In July, I went back to Whetzel's to get my inspection. My car failed initially, but they told me exactly what needed done and who could do it for me. Some they could do themselves, but they were also happy to direct me to another shop to help me with some body work I needed done. They were patient with me and gave me an extra week to get it done and fit me in for an appointment the moment I called. They wear very clear about the costs through the whole process, and their price estimate was accurate.
Most recently, my mom asked them to order tires for me, and I was going to call and ask for an appointment two weeks from now. My car had other plans and gave me a flat tire on the way to work yesterday morning. Due to the nature of my job, I couldn't leave right then, but Whetzel's got me in as soon as I was done and towed over there. They replaced my tires and also checked my car (free of charge) to let me know what other work I'm going to need done soon.
I would also like to specifically thank Ms. Amanda at the front desk for being so kind. This is my first car, and she and Whetzel's have been amazing to work with. She has given me any referrals and information I need to make my budget work and my car drive. I know every time I leave the Whetzel's lot that my car is going to drive better than I've ever felt it.
If you are looking for a place that's going to take care of you or your kids like family, this is the place to go.
Blew a tire on the interstate, so grateful I was near Whetzel. Quick service, more than fair price, and was back on the road quickly. Would recommend to anyone.
After taking my Lincoln MKS to 2 other places and being charged almost $1500 for no results I decided to give Whetzels a try. No one could manage to get the correct half shafts even with numbers on them. Whetzels managed to get one, and a minor repair was needed on a boot on the other in order to pass inspection. I have had my business delivery truck there, my Lincoln and my Mercedes. One repair was not able to be performed, but rather than "fudging it" told me they could not. The honesty was appreciated. They have done other work to the Benz always with good results. I am aware of a negative review posted by someone I know (I paid for the repair) and there is no truth in it. Whetzels did exactly what was asked of them and I have since offered my apologies for putting them in a position for someone that would look a gift horse in the mouth. Great work guys, keep it up! You have my confidence.
I just moved here. I brought my truck in for fan motor to fix heat and ac issues. I was told it only needed a relay switch and sent on my way.
I went the winter without heat and a LOUD GRINDING fan. Why when i asked them to replace the fan motor did they ...well they did nothing actually. Now summers here and I've saved a bit to fix her but I brought her in for oil change and asked the mechanic to fix the hood they slammed shut and I couldn't open (old truck with wrecked front)first. The mechanic got super defensive and said "well I dont even wanna touch it since you say WE slammed it shut." I was shocked at the defensive attitude. (They even typed a snyde comment on my invoice?) I've always had issues with the hood. I simply asked him to look at it and fix it. They fixed it alright. It was completely locked up and worse when i picked it up.
I brought it to another place to find that not only is my AC RELAY MISSING but they broke the plastic box around my fan motor and left broken pieces everywhere. No wonder they didnt want me opening the hood!!! The transmission fluid i asked them to check and i was told its fine......BROWN and broken down!!!
The $900 estimate for shocks etc they handed me UNECESSARY to fix asap as they stated. However my hood latch was reversed and put back backwards!!!! Slack in the line which is why latch didnt release and at any moment that hood could've flipped up. I was told by new mechanic that they were surprised it didnt. I'd be dead!! I have video. Photos. Statements from new mechanic and neighbors and this will be pursued further. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!! I am anxious to put this out there on social media and I work in a HUGE corporation and I will be putting Whetzels on blast!!!

Yes yes they'll get you right in........but is that a good thing? Not if they aren't actually doing anything to your vehicle. I can take 100 cars on the fly if all i do is patch it up and spend 20 minutes per car.
I have to say the lady up front was very kind and helpful.

Came to town for work / family visit, all the way from NYC, which took about 8 hours, some of which was in the rain through a fair amount of road work. As we got closer to the area, I started to feel what I can only describe as a shift in the front wheels when I hit a bump and occasionally when I made a turn. I had also heard a clicking sound maybe 6 or 7 times in over the last week or so when making a left turn. Since we have to head back soon, I wanted to make sure that our car would be safe to drive home. I'm no mechanic, so I started fearing the worst and thinking I'd need a very expensive repair.
I called Whetzel because the reviews were so good. I made the call about 15 minutes before closing and Warren told me to bring the car in the next morning when they open at 8am so that he could order any needed parts and get us safely on the road the following day. He got the car up on the lift and found that it was a fairly simple repair (loose bolt). He did a wheel alignment and rotated the tires and I was on my way in about an hour.
Could not be more grateful to Warren and the fine folks at Whetzel who fit my car into a busy schedule and made sure it would be safe to make the long drive home. When you're a car owner, it's important to have a trusted mechanic. Having something happen while on the road is scary because you take a risk taking your car to a mechanic you don't know. I would not hesitate recommending Whetzel to anyone and would absolutely use them again.
Absolutely the most kindest, sweetest, most reliable place I have ever taken a vehicle to get work done. Because I travel so much, my car needs fixings. Even last minute, they make everything work. Not only do they work really well to make sure I can get in as needed, they also work really well if I am struggling or financially unable to do something as needed. I would never recommend another place to anybody at this rate. I recommend them 100%.
I highly recommend this shop! There prices are very fair no upchanging on parts either! They are very friendly and really helped me out as I was stranded here they got me in on short notice and fixed my car very quickly and for a fair price!
Their work is very good, but more importantly they have a very high level of integrity. They will not try to "sell" you on services that you do not need. Their pricing is very competitive, their work is fast and efficient. If you need an automotive mechanic, this is the place to go.
I give you a one star for one reason and that is your professionalism. I came to you a long time ago because you were different from many of the other places I have been at. I understand things happen, life happens and I understand that my car was sitting there for a week and I apologize because you have limited space but you could have approached it in a different manner. But instead the first thing out of your mouth when I answered the phone was very crass and very rude and you didn't care what I had to say. You were mad because you had to move my car cuz it was snowing. Shame on you. Shame on you for acting like that. I expected better I hope that nobody else gets treated the way you treated me. I get fast, fair, high-quality work here. This place gets it done and done well. Doesnt matter what its been. Ive bought a new set of tires here, had brakes, alignment, suspension issues. We were referred here by Gahr’s - another great shop - to get front strut assemblies and rear struts done on one of our trucks after being told by a shop in Virginia they needed to be replaced. Called them and made an appointment and everything was arranged. Well when we spoke to Whetzel this morning to make sure we were set with the night drop last night and everything was in stock, the owner picked up and said we don’t see the need to replace any of it and in fact were surprised we had been told they needed to be done by our shop down in Virginia. He said I do see some minor tire wear so we are still going to check the alignment and adjust as needed. He said the brakes all the way around were more than good for many more miles.
We were greatly impressed by their honesty and frankness with us. They could have easily just done the work and kept quiet. Instead of getting 1,200.00 bucks from us, they simply got the 90 sum bucks for the 4 wheel alignment. We plan on using them for all of our future work when we are up for camp and visiting family. Moreover, I’m impressed by Gahr’s as well for recommending them. We don’t see things like this down in our part of Virginia. Gahr’s has helped us with one of our tractor tires and even stepped up on the one repair when he probably didn’t have to.
Folks you can’t go wrong with either business in our humble opinion. The customer service was welcoming, genuine and just not found any many places much more.

Called on Thursday afternoon to price two tires. Made appt for Friday to have them mounted and balanced. I was 30 minutes late getting to the garage. The guys pulled my car in right away. They had my tires on the car old tires loaded in the back and took a look at my suspension for me in no time at all. Good work installing a good product for a good price done by good honest people.
The Whetzels are honest, hardworking, and fair. They truly value customer relationships, and went above and beyond when we had some major car issues. We can’t recommend them highly enough!
I took my car to Whetzel last year for a second opinion after another shop quoted me thousands for work. They got me in the same day I called and took a long look at my car. They let me know that a lot of the work
was unnecessary and gave me a much lower quote. I have taken both my vehicles there since and they have always throughly explained everything to me. They’re honest, timely, and have genuinely tried to save me money. They’re definitely the auto body shop I have felt the most comfortable with. I highly recommend!
Absolute rip-off. Paid $1,400 in work on Halloween just last year and they said everything else looks perfect. Been 2.5 months and they did a terrible job and parts needed replaced on a vehicle we haven't driven more than a dozen times in decent weather. Another $250 down the drain when we've hardly used it. Never going back. No decent customer service and they don't care.

This was such a pleasant little shop. The people are super friendly and helpful. I came in on Monday for a quote (I needed 4 new tires and a new muffler installed). They originally scheduled me for Tuesday to get all the work done in one day, but they called 3 hours before my appt to let me know that the muffler didn't come in that day, so they let me reschedule for Wednesday at the same time. The service was quick. They were done in 45 minutes, and the price was incredible. Highly recommended! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Very friendly staff, fixed my valve stem in about 10 minutes and I was on my way. Price was very fair, and all in all a no hassle experience. Best shop in Grove City (fixed an issue that Flynn's had created)
Great honest service! We stopped during a road trip after fearing some vibrations. We asked them to take a look at the tires to make sure it was safe to continue. They took for a couple of test drives and inspected the wheels, tires, and brakes. They assured us that it was safe to continue and didn’t charge us for their time. If I didn’t live 400 miles away, I would take my car here for regular work!
I am very pleased with my experience here at Whetzel's. Warren and Jessie were very friendly and knowledgeable.They helped me out tremendously today as I was in a serious bind trying to get my Tony the Toyata home to FL. They were quick and efficient and very very reasonably priced. They replaced a belt and changed my tires in a matter of a couple of hours . What do most people want from their mechanics? Some things we want are honesty, fair prices, quality parts, and craftsmanship. Friendly people that take pride in their work. Whetzels Tire and Auto Service provided me with all of those things and more.
I called for an appointment to get my car inspected and they were able to get me in early next day. Perfect. I dropped my car off and a few hours later they called to let me know that the rear struts on my vehicle needed to be replaced. They quoted me a fair price to do it parts and labor. They also advised me that the new parts have a lifetime warranty. The car is 12 years old so it makes sense that the parts needed replaced. The advised me only one was leaking but they replace them in pairs. I knew that but was happy to have it explained to me.
When I picked my car up I looked underneath the car to see the work. The work looked great and the parts were shiny and new. When I went in to pay everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend them to anyone looking for an honest and fair priced mechanic!
