Absolutely avoiding this company. Customer service is rude and their policies lack common sense . They charged me for bins not return on a house I sold only to find out the new owners had tried to return them. They charge both me and the new home owner for service for months when I asked for a refund thats when they claims this bin return charge. They told my elder parents they didn’t pick up recycling in the winter after forgetting to pick up recycling for a month but they still charged them for recycling services. No refund but did start sending a drive but only after arguing with them on the phone.

Dawn was wonderful, very informative and friendly representative! Answered all my questions over the phone. She deserves recognition! ? Unfortunately this company requires a contract and is the only one in my area to do so, while also costing a bit more. WM doesn’t and neither does a smaller local pickup company that does a good job, so we went with them. If this company’s prices were lower for that contract or they didn’t have one, I probably would’ve chosen them esp due to the wonderful rep over there!

Horrible customer service from their Claims Department (Michelle). Left 7 voicemails and she refuses to call back to handle an issue. After 6 years of a personal toter sitting out with the tricounty one( and emptied every week no problem) the driver just decided to throw away our toter one day. The excuse was that it was sitting with the trash. ( THATS WHAT IT IS FOR). Customer service has been great and tried helping with as much as they can but can't handle the issue, only one lady can. But she refuses to call back when that is her one job.

I have been a customer for decades. They have earned a star simply because zero stars is not an option. For years our business has suffered many missed pickups. At least one a month. When I kindly bring this up to customer service they are aggressive and unpleasant, even going so far as to blame us for their poor service. We have paid them for services they have failed to provide. They have made it my constant and unpleasant responsibility to chase them around. A note to the business: instruct your customer service to not dump Tri County's failures back onto the customer.

For landfill dumping its a legit spot. Decent rate and they get you in and out pretty quick at the scales and transfer station.

They are horrible. We pay a fortune for trash pickup but because of some childish personal vendetta over my wife refusing to pay an extra $500 a month for a special can they leave our trash sitting in the ditch for sometimes weeks at a time before they finally take it. Very unprofessional!

I called about my bill and I spoke to Clare. She handled my problem with the utmost respect. She listened to my concern and she gave me quality information on how to handle my account. She spoke with clarity and understanding and was very nice. I would love to have a million representatives like her.

I spoke with Clare. She was so kind and understood the situation. She came up with the solution and resolved it. I am so grateful for her and very appreciative. Thank You, Clare!

I contacted Tri-County Industries to sign up for trash and recycling service after being told by email that I had to call. That was already annoying, since there’s no negotiation involved — so why not just provide the terms clearly on the website or over email? What I learned on the call was worse: the only option for the large rolling bins is to lock into a two-year contract with no price protection. They can raise rates whenever they want, and if you decide to cancel because of those increases, you pay a penalty. I asked to review the terms and conditions before committing — a completely normal request — and was told they won’t provide the contract until after I sign up and make a payment. Being expected to pay for a service before I’m allowed to see the contract is unbelievably shady. I left Tri-County a couple years ago after some bad experiences and was considering switching back from Waste Management after recent price increases brought them closer to what Tri-County is charging. After this experience, I’m definitely staying with Waste Management. Tri-County’s practices are not transparent, not consumer-friendly, and not worth the risk.

I hate to do this but am left with no choice. Our pick up is normally thursday but with Thanksgiving our day was Friday. We put our garbage out Thanksgiving for Friday morning. No pickup. No pickup Monday so I called Monday afternoon. Was told the driver said nothing was put out. Mind you he has said this 4 times this year when they have missed our pickup which is a blatantant lie because we always put out early evening the night before. Anyway we were told pickup would be Monday night or Tuesday. No pickup. I was giving benefit of the doubt because of snowstorm. So Thursday our regular day rolls around I figured everything would be picked up. Nope ...nothing. Called Thursday afternoon. The lady didnt know why. They would pick up either Friday or Saturday. I asked which day specificly because our can holds 3 bags and animals get into any left outside the can. Her answer.....I will transfer you to a supervisor and did so without my response. Surprise...this person is unavailable. Here it is Saturday afternoon and no pickup and we have scattered garbage to pick up. What a way to run a business

I love the customer service I get form Clare Hickman! She calls me regularly to remind me of things I forgot. She isn’t the type like a tella marketer. I consider her a friend from those business calls. Never met her yet.

129.00 every quarter and missed pick ups the customer service shouldn't be rude and ignorant and told to leave it and they'll get it and hang up. Horrible

Tri-County industries what a great company they are their drivers passed by your house four times but they don't feel the need to stop and pick up your garbage so you call the company on hold 17 minutes and the nice ladies answer the phone and you tell her that they didn't pick up your garbage and then the nice lady start rattling off all the rules and regulations that you didn't follow as a customer as the reason their drivers didn't pick up your stuff once they find out that you have followed the stupid rules so then they want to generate a work order for someone to come back and get your garbage so we're paying two drivers to do to do the exact same job much less all the fuel and maintenance costs on the vehicles that have to return to a place that they've already been so now we have invested twice the amount of money in picking up a single garbage can as was needed and then they tell you oh because of this that and the other thing we have to raise your rate how about doing a better management in other professions if you make a mistake they dock your pay but not Tri County let the customers pay for our mistakes if you were to dock that drivers pay what it cost to have your second driver come from Grove City to sharpsville to pick up the garbage that they missed yesterday including fuel wear and tear on the vehicle and the drivers pay, dock their pay once or twice that amount and I'll bet you they don't miss another a can but it's pretty obvious that Tri-County doesn't really care about their customer service as you can tell by their obviously low and continuous customer rating

have to call because they don’t pick up trash and they give you an attitude. Awful place to deal with, we need more trash options. They’ve given me problems about a personal trash and they had to be blown up on to pickup the dumpster at my work, it’s absurd to have to chase a company to do their job. Definitely one of those places that need to fire everyone and start fresh LOL… no joke though. A Business should never have this bad of Customer service.

Great Job. Thank you for keeping our community clean, we appreciate all the detail to safety. The trucks are very large vehicles, and your drivers go out of their way to make sure all safety precautions are followed, keeping the neighborhoods safe.

Constantly not picking up the trash and having to be called to come collect it. For example today 8/25 the trash didn’t get picked up and when called they said “it was 2 heavy” if my 55 year old mother can lift it and shake it. Which I have a video of!!! Then it shouldn’t be a problem…….

We have had non-stop issues with our dumpster not getting picked up, and and when we call in we get snarky people asking "did you have it at the curb" No. It's a giant dumpster in the same place they pick up when they feel like it. After checking the account its "oh it is. Someone will be out tomorrow".... they do not infact come... We canceled service and now the dumpsters been sitting there for a month full from the two weeks prior it was supposed to be picked up. The bears have been loving it, though. ?

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. It's story time: Now, I don’t normally leave reviews, but the repeated failures by Tri-County Industries have left me with no other outlet than public feedback. On Tuesday night, I placed my new, large brown garbage can at the curb — filled with food that had to be thrown out due to a refrigerator failure. (witch I did let Tri-County Industries know about ) The next morning, only my smaller black can was emptied — a can I didn’t even put out. The one with rotting food, maggots, and a terrible odor was completely ignored. I called right away and was told someone would come that day (Wednesday, which is our regular pick up day ) to pick up the full brown can. No one came. I followed up again and was told the pickup was rescheduled for Friday before 2 PM. No one came then either. It’s now been days, and the garbage is still sitting out there festering. The smell is awful, and I’m sure my neighbors are noticing, and getting annoyed. To make matters worse, this all came after I had to drive 30 minutes to pick up the new can myself because the company never delivered it — even after multiple requests. This isn’t just me griping. I’m paying for a service I’m not receiving, and despite multiple follow-ups and clear communication, there has been zero accountability or resolution. I was even told, “Try to have a good weekend,” after my Friday communication — the matter was casually dismissed. Customers in small towns shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of negligence simply because options are limited.

How do i place zero stars? This company deserves it, no stars. To begin with they charge you an outrageous fee just for the month. They provide you with this little trash bin and with a house of 4 it gets filled up fast. So if you want to put more on the tree lawn you have to not only tell them before hand. Then pay them 7 bucks per item left on the tree lawn. Like what? No I don't think I'll be doing that I'm sure like most people in greenville, I'll just hold on to my extra trash. Thank you!! Then there's the recycling company. They only pick up the blue bin once every every other week and because there was a vehicle parked on the street ( not my vehicle or anyone I know) they refuse to pick it up. So my blue bin will remain on the tree lawn for the next 2 weeks, because it's filled. Thanks for nothing tri county industries and your sister company!!

Terrible customer service. Anytime we call for an additional pickup or have questions, they’re very rude. And one collector on our route holds a grudge against us for one simple mistake when we first moved here. Since then we’ve had our cans turned upside down, bins tipped over and trash left in our yard. The worst was today. I used cat litter to dry up some old paint before throwing out. When I checked the paint can, the paint was hard and clumped and when shaken made no liquid sound nor felt like liquid was left inside so I assumed it was all dry. Big mistake, because when it was found, instead of leaving the paint cans beside the bin so we could take care of it, it was poured back into our bin for us to clean up. 2 gallons of paint in our bin…..with a little note tided to the handle saying we couldn’t have wet paint. If there was another company to use, I’d switch so fast but there’s not.

They did a great job in oil city! The garbageman we had was awesome! He has my 3yr old son wanting to be a garbage man! He took time out of his schedule to let my son look at the truck n show him how the levers make the garbage truck work! They were nice and put our can back right and never left a big mess! Wish oc would stick w them!

If you don’t have to use their service don’t!!!! They have the worst and rudest customer service. They are so expensive. They don’t come when they are supposed to and their drivers leave your trash cans wherever they want like in a ditch!!!!!

Tri County is proof that extortion is alive and well. You have to pay top dollar for a contract that they are under no obligation to follow. They make their own rules, at your expense, and then retaliate when you call the office to report problems. 0/10, would not recommend. Edited to add: From Tri-County's website: "Tri-County Industries has become one of the largest privately owned waste removal and recycling services in the area by helping residential and commercial customers choose the most efficient waste disposal services for their needs. We are proud to serve the areas of Lawrence, Crawford, Venango, Mercer, Clarion, and northern Butler counties." Let's do some math. Let's have a made up scenario in which Tri-County services 10,000 homes in each county listed in their description (I believe I'm being conservative here). 10,000 x 6 = 60,000. Our bills are now $117 each, so 60,000 x $117 = $7,020,000. So the yearly total this private company makes is $28,080,000 on residential service alone. And yet, they are constantly doing shady dealings to add additional charges to their customers and/or are unable/unwilling to help with late fees or service fees (see almost any other 1 star review below). What a shame that this is allowed to happen. Not only is it allowed, most of us have no other option. Shame on YOU, Tri-County.

A horrible, money-hungry company! I moved to the area in the fall after signing a land contract on a property serviced by tri county. When I bought the house, there were 2 overflowing garbage cans outside that had not been emptied in months. After moving in, the garbage was not collected for several months, but as I was traveling back and forth out of state every week, I would take the garbage in my truck and throw it out at my business. Once winter set and I stopped traveling, I called tri county to find out why the garbage was not being collected, and was told by their customer service agent that they did not have a copy of my land contract and that I absolutely could not have service in my name because I was not on the deed. I contacted the company I purchased the home from to set up an account, but my garbage did not start getting picked up until sometime in January. In March my land contract was finally filed with the Mercer county courts, and last week I received a collections notice for over $300 threatening to take me to court!! When I called upset, I was told that they had just received my land contract and were back-billing me for services since the start of my contract! I asked them how they legally could do this when the DID NOT collect my garbage for months. After arguing with the collections lady about their fraudulent charges, she reduced the charges to start in January. Two days later I come outside to find my garbage cans GONE. I called again and was told that my cans were removed because of my collections notice and I had to pay the past due bill and sign a service agreement before they could return them. I asked why it was ok to leave the cans for a year uncollected with the former owner who defaulted on his bill, but they were taking mine for a 75 dollar balance that I was just informed of last week. She had nothing helpful to say. I asked if this was retaliation because they did not like how I talked to them and she just says “have a good day”. This company is obviously hurting for money and has to use grimy billing tactics to make a profit. Interesting that they are trying to take me to collections when I never signed a service agreement before. I wonder how many people they have fraudulently billed service for in the past? It is also completely obvious that when they picked up the garbage in January, it had been by accident, since tri county was not even aware of my land contract until March 4th of this year. I don’t mind paying for the service I actually got, but for them to lie after their initial customer service rep told me that the previous service had been TURNED OFF and was off in November of 2024 is ridiculous. EDIT: I have since discovered that the reason they really took the trash cans is so that they can CHARGE me for re-delivering them!! They are also trying to force me to sign a 2 year service contract. It is no wonder the company I purchased the home from wouldn’t set anything up.

There is a lack of communication with customers. When you get a bill for $20 for fuel surcharges for them coming to your home 3 times to pick up a recycle bin you never knew you were to return, a simple call would have been nice. I only knew after I got a bill. Wouldn’t you think after the second trip they would call? I had to pay the $20, or they will add a $10 late fee every month.

Karen Stephen’s at Tri County (Industries) was one of the best customer service representatives I have spoken to on the phone! Very pleasant, professional and a great speaking tone that is very comforting and gave me confidence knowing that she accomplished setting up my new services exactly as I needed.

I don't use the service weekly, because I don't have enough trash to realistically make it worthwhile to do so, then I don't receive a bill. I'll put my trash out and it won't be taken, this is a pretty common occurrence, then I'll try to call and ask why it hasn't been, suddenly I somehow owe them $300 and my service is suspended. More often than not, when I do contact them, is the first I hear both of these things. Then, I have paid for the service and the trash isn't taken, I'll call and get either "your account is locked," or "I don't know why yours wasn't taken." I've never had as many issues with a service as I do with this company. They really don't like any kind of confrontation either, but they've got no problem sending letters in the mail threatening to take you to court for your payment.

So for a couple weeks, this dude was leaving my toter all the way up the street at the neighbors house to save himself a minute. I came out and told him to put my can back in front of my house, and he laughed about it. So in the last three weeks, he just lets the back of the garbage truck drag my can until it crushes it over the curb in front of my house. Orangville just push it down and leave it laying sideways halfway in the road so cars have to drive around it. He clipped the telephone pole and took a giant chunk out of it. I emailed video of all this to Tricounty and nothing has been done. It’s been almost a month now. What a shame paying double for garbage and having to search for my toter every week or come outside at six in the morning to get it off of the road so a car doesn’t swerve around it and hit something else.

Tri-County Industries has unsafe drivers that nearly hit and could have likely killed my 8 year old cousin and her friend as they waited on the side of the street for their school bus. I've also witnessed drivers going through peoples trash cans in search of items they could keep for themselves - before dumping the trash into the back of the garbage truck. To me ...... that is invading a person's privacy. That's so unprofessional and unethical of Tri-County Industries drivers and management to allow that to take place. Even though that's a person's "trash" that doesn't give these unprofessional and unsafe drivers authority to search through mine or anyone else's personal trash in hopes of finding something of value to these sick minded people - at the same time possibly exposing a person's personal information throughout the trash. Here's a thought to Tri-County Industries MANAGEMENT - why don't you address this unethical and unprofessional issue among your workers. It's pathetic that a person should even have to address management on this. There are far better Waste Management companies ( that also have "CHEAPER PRICES" for service) then this place. I encourage everyone to do your homework before deciding on Tri-County Industries. I promise you that there are better services that offer cheaper plans - that have safer drivers - that also don't search through your trash as you sleep peacefully in your home.
