Stopped to have battery tested,
After technician labored to check the battery he determined the battery might be bad
But stated he could not install the new one because half the battery was under back hood ledge
The signs all over the windows of the store clearly stated we install Batteries.did not state any exclusion
They need to remove the sign or include exclusions
Went to a different parts store technician tested and changed the battery without hesitation.
Will not be back to this store very disappointed with the entire experience
Since my windshield wiper decided to fly off on a road trip I was in desperate need of a replacement. Unfortunately, due to the design the one I bought was not compatible. However, the guy who helped me was awesome. He knew enough to know to check the hook before he sold.me anything. The store had one in stock and he made sure it was attached properly. I will definitely be back!
I go wherever the parts I need are. Advanced has helped in the past and other times I wasn't impressed. Honestly advanced, auto zone, O'Reillys, pretty much the same to me. It's the quality of people that work there that can make or break someone's opinion. Advanced wasn't very helpful the last time I was there. Younger kids that didn't care to help, made that experience worthless. But the time before that I had a great experience. So it's not the parts that really stand out, it's who is representing advanced auto parts when you walk in that counts.
Shelf item in wrong spot. Thought it was $22.95 but at the register it was $46.95 and the correct item was out of stock. Fortunately the was an Auto Zone just down the street with the right stuff.
I placed an online order and they had it ready and waiting for me when I arrived.
I used to work at the East Rochester location and know how difficult it can be to stay on top of things when it gets busy!
I and out , except the wipers I purchased didn't fit. 4 exchanges and 2 people later , it Worked !!! Took some time, but I left with great wipers, because they upgraded for free !!
Went there to have my check engine light checked and the guy behind the counter said he wouldn't check it for me because it was raining outside, told me he doesn't get paid enough for that, he was more interested in his iPad game he was playing
I really don't like giving anything less than 4 stars but...
The service here is slow. The employees take their time assisting you. Everytime I go, the one employee struggles to use the computer and complains about it to me. I had a UPS drop off and an oil filter to pick up. The one employee stared at the shelf for 5 minutes before he realized it wasn't pulled (they typically don't pull parts that are stocked on the floor. The other guy who was scanning my packages took 5 minutes to get logged in. I will take my ups dropoffs to CVS and go to the Monaca or New Brighton location in the future.
I was in an out quickly I needed a car cover for my mustang they have a big selection an different grades of cover the people were nice an polite an helpful I go back again
I would rate the Advance Auto Parts store in Chippewa PA less than one star if possible. I have never been adequately assisted in that store. It's not all their fault, for some reason I keep going in there thinking this time will be better, it's not. In the most resent episode of the worst store ever, I needed to purchase brake pads and rotors for my wife's van. They have the pads in stock and had to order the rotors (that should have been a red flag) the kid ringing me up and the older gentleman I believe to be either the manager or assistant manager says they can order them and it should only take a couple days and they'll call me when they come in... that was on Tuesday Aug 31st. So today, on Sept 5th I decide to just stop in and see if they came in, perhaps they forgot to call, lost my number or couldn't get through. Nope, no brake rotors, apparently the store they ordered them from who said they had them didn't. So they just said oh well... Keep in mind, I had paid for said parts. So they charged me for parts they had to order from another store, then when that store didn't have them they just gave up. Maybe they thought I would forget. So when I stopped in the store today they explain this to me (no phone call once the error was discovered) and say they can order them from the warehouse and they'll be here tomorrow... TOMORROW IS A HOLIDAY! Why were they not ordered from the warehouse to begin with? Why weren't they ordered from the warehouse once it was discovered the store the did ordered them from didn't have them? Why do I keep going back to that store expecting anything to be better? This WILL be the last time I set foot in that store. My hope is that this review will help prevent others from having to deal with the headache and incompetence that is the Advanced Auto in Chippewa PA.
Service was fast and they did not have what I needed so they referred me to another store( not theirs). Because of their honesty and the referral to a different company- we will definitely return. Thank you for caring.
My Check Engine light was on, so I stopped at this store to have the diagnostic run. A more experienced (not older) gentleman, whose name I did not get, did the test and it indicated a problem with the catalytic converter, so I prepared myself for a major expense.
However, the gentleman suggested putting fuel line cleaner in the gas tank the next time I filled up, then unhooking the positive terminal of the battery, letting it sit for 1/2 hour (to reset the on-board computer), reconnecting the terminal and driving the car for about 60 miles to see if the Check Engine light stays off.
That was about 2 months and 300 miles ago, so it worked: total cost was about $8.00, so a big "Thank You" for the good advice and possibly saving me a lot of money.
Jason the store manager doesn’t know the stores policies and argues with the customers even when proven wrong. As a former employee of advance auto, and a loyal customer of over 10 years, I will never go back to advance after my experience. I had to argue to get my core charges refunded on my credit card because I didn’t have the receipt but we were able to find the transaction under my phone number. I have many friends and family that work on their own vehicles and will not go to this store because of this guy specifically. Even to ensure that I was not mistaken, I called the 1-877-advance and they confirmed I was correct. Overall extremely displeased and will never go back.
Went in today 2 buy another POR15 kit and was being told the kit was $63.00 but when I looked at the price tag on the shelf it clearly said $28.99.told the manager the price was $28.99 and he argued and said it wasn't. I pretty sure I know what the price was when I had had already purchased one at another Advanced Auto Parts today.This store will be the last place I buy anything else and being a valued customer all my customers will deal elsewhere
I'm here too much buying stuff for my car. the guys there are helpful too if you don't really know what the part is, they will actually help you out 100%
All the items I needed but next time I won't take the recommendation for windshield wipers, I don't like them at all!! I'll buy the ones I originally planned on.
Went in for battery purchase and installation and the older gentleman took really good care of me. It was freezing outside and he apologized to me for taking too long which was not an issue.
Much appreciation my man.
The clerk was very helpful and very pleasant. He understood my problem and even put the battery in the trunk of my car. Being a 74 yr old woman, I really appreciated that.
Always helpful, always polite and always finds me the part I need. Only thing keeping out a 5☆ review is the fact on 1/6/19 when working I needed motor oil and stopleak and with limited daylight this time of year I start early. Only problem is that absolutely no one was at the store at opening time and they were almost 15 minutes late, needless to say I was late for my 1st morning customer which ended up putting me behind the whole day.
Barely made it there after jumpstarting my car in the rain twice. Then after already purchasing a battery online, went to pick up, had some guy there mumble under his breath "I'm not putting it in". Having no tools to uninstall or install the battery I told them I could not get the battery then. They could have cared less as they let me walk out the door. I ended up going 100 yards up the road to Autozone who was more than happy to take my money and also offer excellent service. Advanced upper management tried to say it was because they must have two employees in store at all times. Well do not advertise you do it if you won't. Also, one guy was outside when the car pulled up so that seems to be untrue.
Great parts great service, buddy (the manager there currently) is a great guy he always makes sure you get your parts when you need them and the staff that work their are all friendly helpful people
Such amazing help! Took time to answer questions on what we needed. Store manager Buddy was helping other customers with issues and had his pro named Steve assist with breaking down what we needed. So much better than their competitors.
Having done repair work for decades I know about the so-called expert parts guys well I ran into one at advance parts I simply asked him if his advice was from the book or his opinion and I oh fended his supreme intelligence as he told me he had been doing this work for 35 years well how in the heck do I know who I'm talking to on the phone
