Major Waste Disposal is great to work with. Their customer service really stood out as everyone I dealt with was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. I live on 309th st and I saw the garbage man coming down the road.Some of the stuff flew out of the trash can, and he got out of the truck to go pick it up.And clean up the street.

Major Waste does not want recycling in blue plastic bags like the company the city used before. On windy days, there's garbage everywhere. I've filled up half a recycling can with the garbage blown into my yard in one day. The lids flip open, the cans blow over and there's trash up and down the street. I'm unhappy with my city's choice to use them. I've spoken to the mayor about this and unfortunately this is Major's policy and the city residents are forced to use them.

Waited all afternoon for recycling by side of house didn’t want my reccycling all over the neighborhood on a windy afternoon. The driver Apparently didn’t see me in the driveway and blew past me, though just a few feet away. I was upset because I tried to make it easy for the driver because I’m sure he had to get out all day picking stuff up. Anyways up to now Major Waste has been great. Happy New Year.

Ever since my mom's city switched from Kimble to Major it's been much better service. They pick up the recycle and garbage usually every week vs when we use to have Kimble they would sometimes come on Saturday or not come at all which we would then have to call in. They also just picked up cans that were scattered all over the street due to high winds, with Kimble everything would be all over the street including all the garbage and recycle so thank you to the workers at Major!

My local village contracted Major for our community trash removal. Each week when the truck collects my trash with the mechanical arm to dump the receptacles, they leave a large divot in my yard. I have called multiple times and was told I would receive a call back about the property damage and received no communication.

Customer service sucks and driver lies about trash cans not being at the street when I in fact put them out the night before. Their service rep gave me the wrong recycling date and some how is my fault

Unreliable. I called to report missed service. They lie on the phone and quickly become argumentative. Her name is Kara. A customer should never be called a liar. I guess their cameras lie too. Then they insist it was picked up. My husband is dumping at the dump as I write this. Im very disappointed in your customer service.. unfortunately im stuck with major. I miss our old service. In 35 years they never missed a pick up.

Live in Willowick oh. received their bill recently. just sent check in. They suspended my service for lack of payment. they don't even have a grace period like any other company in America. also I'm senor citizen with a major disability. we have had their service for the last few months and it i terrible. If your a senor and disabled look out!!

The best company I’ve worked with thus far. They Always come when they’re supposed to- in a timely manner. If there is a change in the schedule we are noticed ahead of time. But more importantly the truck drivers go above and beyond to take care of us/the neighborhood. Customer service always gets back to me right away with any questions/concerns I may have. THANK YOU

We had our trash service changed from Kimble to Major...not sure why the city of Willowick did that... Anyway my main complaint is the late pick ups that drag throughout the day. It is 12:30 pm now and only recycle is picked up not regular trash. Kimble did a much better job with getting things done in a timely manner.

They acquired Esquire's accounts who we used to have LAST YEAR! Been taking my trash myself to dump since last year. Emailed them for a quote for service March 27th and put trash out Monday the 14th and last Monday the 7th. I get a email with a invoice saying I owe for January through March when I didn't use their service or even have them for trash pickup. I used nobody after Esquire! Like I told the rude lady Kara on the phone who wasn't getting it that I never put trash out for them this year til the past 2 Mondays April 14th and the 7th! She tried saying they've been billing me when the only email and invoice I got was when I inquired about the service when she attached the bill at the end saying I owe for January to March. Not paying for service I didn't use. If i already had service i wouldn't of requested a quote on your site, duh! Get it through your head lady! But I will pay for the 2 days I used it recently. Bunch of scam artists!

They have been our provider for about a month and they suck. Yard waste was supposed to start March 1st but they still haven’t picked and up even though it said on their flyer they would. You call them and thr prolly are very rude and condescending. Kimble who we had preywere very nice and helpful. If they were going to be late or pickup was coming a day late they would email you. If you don’t like you job there at Major then quit.

They have only been our provider for a short period and so far the pickup was great. No problems on the actual service given. The no stars are for customer service. They responded promptly at first but then didn't respond at all. My first bill had a billing error on account of a problem on their end. And when I reached out they placed blame on me and then never responded when I tried to talk to them about it.

I wrote a check for a full year in advance back in Dec. 2024 as of 1/28/25 my check has not been applied. It's against the law to hold checks or payment for any credit. Fact of the matter is I'm sure they would be upset if I didn't pay for my service and threaten service or otherwise. CASH THE DAMN CHECK !

I have had very good service from this company. They pick up extra items for a reasonable charge. Customer service is responsive and friendly. The drivers do a good job and care about the neighborhood.

We ordered a 10 yard dumpster for some spring cleaning projects at home and Major Waste was fantastic! It was delivered right on schedule, the driver was able to navigate our narrow drive way with no issue, and it was picked up timely as well. The office was able to answer all my questions on delivery and billing. Will definitely use again!

Very impressed on how the operations manager handled our complaint today. Empathetic, fast response and quick resolution. Everything you want for customer service when mishaps happen. We will continue to support Major and the great job they continue to do for us.

We have been a customer for the last 2 years now that we live in Lake county. We have the best drivers each week! My main driver always put's the cans upright and never leaves any debris behind. Recently I gained even more gratitude! I requested a truck make an appearance for my son's 4th birthday party. My son LOVES trash day! He runs to watch the driver operate the truck dumping the garbage. Major Waste went WAY BEYOND my expectations!! The driver was amazing!!! He brought the coolest truck to show my son and his party guests. He showed them how it works and even let them try out the horn and the clampers. My son truly enjoyed his gift bag filled with fun Major Waste toys! My whole party will be talking about this incredible experience for years to come. THANK YOU Major Waste for keeping our community clean and having the BEST HEART in the business!!!

Got switched from Tony Scheibers to major a few months ago. They have done well for my home & business. They answer the phone with a live person ,they are very cordial taking care of the questions,. You have to realize they probably doubled in size and are doing the best they can do. Besides all the things they are dealing with my bill was a little lower than I was paying .so what are you going to waste management that do a good job but the largest in the country . I played hell getting out of their contract , tried charging huge amount of money for bin &dumpster pick up . I am happy with them 👍

We have a similar bad experience with their transition on autopay providers. Our June payment didn’t process. We had no idea there was a change in systems or there was a payment problem until my garbage wasn’t picked up. The customer service I received was less than stellar with an attitude of “you should have seen it on the June invoice.” The offered resolution to get my trash picked up was if they were back in my area they may pick it up; otherwise, I have to wait until next week for service. I take accountability for missing notification on the invoice. However, shame on Major Waste for taking a path of least resistance on notifying customers on your system change. No email communication, nothing on social media posts, and heck - you could have even put a tag on the trash can saying there was a problem with the account. Do better for your customers. As a long time customer, this was a terrible experience.

Major just lost a customer of 20 years. I signed up for autopayment. Apparently, they switched providers and my autopayment for June didn't process. Received a bill for $250 yesterday which was marked "due upon receipt." So I logged in, created a new account, and paid my balance. Called today to cancel my service and was told there was information about the change in autopay sent out with the paper bill sometime last Spring. Fair enough. I was in autopay so I don't read those bills carefully. Asked why I wasn't given a phone call or an email and was given some response about their "customer base." OK, fine. Was then told that part of the bill that was marked "due upon receipt" included service from next month to the end of the year and "we don't give refunds." Couldn't find that on my bill so I called back. Didn't get any definitive answer so called my credit card company and they'll open a case after the pending period has passed. I don't mind paying what I owe - but being cheated out of money for a service period I haven't started yet seems pretty dishonest. Gonna give the new folks on the block some business and see how that goes. The reason this review is three stars and not one star is because the folks on the trucks are great - very respectful of pedestrians and property. Maybe the folks who make the business decisions should take lessons from the folks who are out and about interacting with customers... My response to the owner's response : the first CSR told me there would be no refund and the second CSR said they usually don't give refunds. So my review was accurate. I do appreciate the second CSR taking my information and I am glad I was refunded though I was not notified I was refunded (I suppose I'll be sent a letter.) I was hoping the owner would take this opportunity to reflect on how this change was communicated to your customer base (which, per the first CSR prompted SEVERAL calls to your office.) I see you did not.

I really didn't want to write a negative review as I have a lot better things to do with my time than gripe about my trash on the internet, but my experience interacting with the employee's of this company was so atrocious, things need to be said. Their pick up is fairly regular, they get the job done most days so 2 stars for doing the basics. It's trash pick up, so not too hard to mess up just showing up, dumping stuff into a truck and driving away with it. But recently pick up times have been erratic and they missed numerous homes in multiple neighborhoods because the truck came many hours before or after regular pick up time. The drivers also sped above speed limit. For the first time in a decade of service, I was concerned about what I saw and called the company. I talked to multiple people, so it was not just 1 bad apple. They were rude, condescending, cut me off and then flat out lied to me more than once. On another occasion I scheduled a pick up, they never showed up. I gave them benefit of doubt and just brushed it off as an oversight on a busy day, called and rescheduled, but they never showed up again. Called AGAIN and person I talked to assured me they would do the pick up. NEVER SHOWED UP. Adding insult to injury a few weeks ago I was at my mailbox at same time driver pulled up to load my cans on the truck. You smile and say good morning to someone 3 feet in front of you as a common courtesy, especially if they're funding your paycheck, right? Not Major Waste Disposal employee's. He stared like an expressionless zombie, didn't even fake a little smile or acknowledge my greeting. So based on my experience of lack of professionalism, unreliability and general rudeness, I find all these 5 star reviews raving about how awesome their trash company is... a bit suspicious. My personal experience says the opposite and I find it odd this many people are so excited about their trash service in general.

I love them, service i great, every person(road and office staff) so kind. They also really saved my pup's life, she got loose to bark at them, they slowed down traffic and coerced her to come in house. I switched years ago because of their reasonable price, and so happy I did plus we get a personal home town feeling, using this this Business. Keep up !

Update: Still love this company! Just received the most polite and, almost apologetic, letter explaining an increase in fuel charge. They further stated that it would be temporary based on gas prices. Shocked that it took them so long to raise their prices and also that it is so minor. Just a very nice company to do business with. We have used multiple garbage pickup services and the small companies keep getting bought by Waste Management. We always have problems with Waste Management! Major has been such a pleasant surprise. We have forgotten to put our can by the road and they actually walked the 6 steps to grab it. Can is always upright and empty. Very nice.

They usually pick up on time. Skipped my house today. I called to ask why but the office was not open. I was able to stop the recycle truck. The driver called the garbage truck back to clear my bin. No big deal. Then there were the emails. I'll condense the email exchange that followed my messages to Major. They "checked" their truck video and determined that my bin was not out on time. I sent them my Nest Doorbell video that showed their truck driving by my bin. I was then told that it was a recycling bin, not a trash bin. When I attempted to schedule a bin exchange, I was told that it probably was the correct bin. At this point they just wanted me to go away. Keep in mind that there is a charge if they have to come back, if you forget to put the bin out on time. (It was in the emails.) I'm not a fan of Nest products, but it saved me a couple bucks today. I appreciate the recent reply. After the initial problems with pickup, I spoke with the truck driver. I then relocated my bin away from some lawn trees to make it easier for him to see. I haven't had a missed pickup since. I have had one appliance pickup without issues. In light of the service corrections, I added a star to the review.
