So many Amish books written by Amish authors! The largest selection I’ve seen. If you want to understand a culture better, read their literature. We had a lot of fun browsing throughout this bookstore. It also has some home decor and houseware items, but their main proprietors are Amish, so don’t expect Barnes and Noble because that’s not what it is. Enjoy!
I honestly don't know what else I can say about Valley View, no matter how many times I rate it or and describe it I still have it keep popping up for review!!
My post of a few months ago for which the owner thanked me has not gone down at all it still is a five-star place and it still has several items that I as a not Amish person purchase in there on a regular basis. 6/21/2022. It is still a nice store although it's so packed it's hard to move down some of the aisles without knocking things over.
I love this store. The have a great selection of books, mostly Bible and religion, including some expository works on various books of the Bible. They also have some novelty toys including a line that touts itself as " World's Smallest" fill in the blank. But the best part are the workers especially the gentleman who was working in the fabrics department onv4/1/2020. My wife is a health care worker at a nursing home and thankfully a very talented former seamstress. She has been working on masks for work and ran out of elastic for them. I called around and was out of luck. Fortunately we decided to stop in to Valley View and there just so happened to be some elastic! He was very sympathetic to our situation and sold us an entire spool. I can not express any more gratitude. This shop has my highest vote of approval!!!!!
