First time and last. I had various types of metals as well as car batteries. I did not realize they were taking it all together until most of the load had been removed and taken elsewhere. At that point, there was no one present that could speak English. When i got to the stage to get my cash, I was so stunned at the low price I didn't even process it until I had pulled off. Rather than go back to dispute, I just left so no idea how they would have handled it.
Although it had no impact on my rating I had 3 different local folks tell me they had received $10/each for car batteries. That is not true. I am unsure if they used to and just quit or never did. I should have stuck with the local auto part store for that one.
Horrible experiences there ! First off the Hispanic guys , the one with long hair and the chubby one have horrible attitudes and they speak Spanish as if most ppl don’t understand what they are saying. The blond haired American girl that’s seems like a manager maybe also has a horrible attitude. ( might be because he only makes $12 an hour , seen his paycheck stub in trash can , no lie) They have zero customer service skills and treat you as if you don’t like it then go somewhere else well I did and Holmes Scrap yard is much better , they treat u with respect and paid u for what u have. Derrick the small scale guy is wonderful and very helpful. THEY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME FROM FOILS TO FOOLS ! Owner should fire staff and hire new. They called this 2 awg wire drop cord only wanted to pay 40 CENTS a pound for this. Holmes gave me $2.65 a pound.
My husband and I went today. Everything was OK until we get all our nonprecious metals unloaded. Which wasn't really that much. We had roughly about 40 pounds of copper #1 and at least 10 electric motors etc. Mainly precious metals is how we make a living. Soo as we unload nonprecious metals they tell us they're closed. Mind you it was 4:07p.m. we had time, was it Close yes, but still wasn't closing time yet. I'll never go their again if I were you I'd go elsewhere also.
I went today an took cans and a little scrap. The scale guy was great, cashier great also the older Hispanic man with the dark shirt that helped with cans and also inside acted some kind of way towardse an the other people I was with
I guess they thought some of us do speak Spanish. Need to teach your employees they may say things to the wrong one.
Not happy with this business. I've tried and tried to give them benefit of doubt. Perhaps they don't need the little guy. In exception for a single female at the cash counter, I wish I knew her name for praise, everyone I have ever encountered has been short with me. Being unfamiliar with their process I've failed to stop in the correct spot to wait for the small scale. Protocol and procedures are not clearly defined or posted, nor are they explained by the attendant at the big scale. I've been yelled at for pulling into the small scale area ahead of being called into the drive through as well as NOT pulling into the drive through for not onowing when it was my turn to weigh in at small scales yet the area where I'm supposed to wait is completely out of view of the attendees of the small scale.
The insensitivity and rudeness at Foils is the main reason I choose to use Holmes Iron and Metal instead.
That should be enough but it's also worth noting, Foils offers no help identifying your metals, and even if you already have them sorted into the various kinds of metals they don't accept multiple pass throughs or weight checks past copper, aluminum, or Steel. Evidently Iron and stainless all go into the cheaper category of steel or the cheapest metal.
This is Saturday, on a holiday weekend of July 4th 2024 but their closure today is not reflected on their voicemail. With no-one to answer yesterday or today, and the voicemail full but still stating no info on their holiday hours their phone number is useless. Despite the nice lady, I avoid going to Foils if I can help it.
Place is cheap and don’t wanna pay anything—drive the extra time down to L&L core supply. This place only gives $.10 per pound for batteries what a joke!
They are quick and courteous and very nice. Great price for scrap! They even sell salvageable metal items brought by customers. Fencing riding lawnmowers gocarts old vintage stoves bicycles work tables new nuts and and bolts and some industrial equipment many very unique things
They need some safety training. They rammed my trailer with their bobcat thing with me standing there. I had to jump on top of the front of the bobcat, then it sent me flying over the trailer while the bobcat pushed my trailer and car sideways.
The best part about all of this is I'm now muddy and my legs are bleeding (no serious wounds just cut up), I asked if I could use their bathroom to clean the blood off myself and they said no.
So yeah they hit me, my trailer, and vehicle with their equipment. i got a sorry but no you can't use the bathroom. I believe this is what attorneys are for
I don't have metal to dispose of very often, but when I do this is the go to place. From the scales to the unloaders, to the cashier, everyone is friendly and efficient at what they do. I don't even have to unload. The metal prices they pay are in line with the local market.
They have also started selling select items including I beams, channel, angle, tubing, pipe, bicycles, and a few unknown unique items that just look really cool. Check out their selection after you cash out. It feels good to recycle here and go home with a few dollars in my pocket instead of giving my scrap metal to the county and having to pay to dispose of some of it.
I like this recycling center they keep the driving areas nice and clean. I appreciate this considering I'm driving a 2019 ram.
They make recycling easy, drive in, pull up to scale, stop, this time received ticket and asked to go over to excavator. Gentlemen guides you back, drop you scrap and return to scales. Go around to front with ticket and id and collect your cash??
Total rip off gave 4 ac compressors they paid me for one. Was putting #1 copper with the #2. Will never go here again. Avoid this place unless you wanna give your scrap away.
Everytime i have been up here they are always closed way earlier than 4:30. Like just write "8am til we feel like it" if you aren't gonna stick to what you have on your interent page, the sign outside your establishment, etc. Especially for people to drive all the way across town to go to you. Wasting their time and gas.
yeah it's a nice place if you don't want to get your shoes dirty, but it'll cost ya. I'm just sayin, watch your reciepts and weigh tickets, and they like to weigh it when your not around. no thanks.
