I called with an immediate request for a tow. I had scheduled an appointment the day prior with East Coast Towing but after a day and a half the service was not completed. Tina in the office was awesome and scheduled a pickup within an hour! I got a call from Schrail to let me know he was on site picking up the vehicle!! All around great experience and their price was less than the other place! I'll definitely use them and recommend them in the future! Thank y'all!!
The most traumatizing experience I've ever had.
After my accident, my brand-new 2024 car was towed here by the shop owner, who told me he worked with Progressive Insurance.
About a week later, I learned that my car had been taken apart without my authorization. He stated this was how the insurance would want to see it. When I called my insurance company, they told me no work should be done until their adjuster inspected. I relayed that to the shop, and the mechanic acknowledged it. The next day, he sent me a photo showing the car reassembled and said it was "all done." At that point, there was no mention of fees or issues.
Two weeks later, after escalating my insurance claim, I reached back out. That's when I was told my car had been "repoed" and that I should contact my bank -- even though I was not behind on payments and had never missed one. When I checked with my bank, I discovered:
* I was being charged over $3,500 in "storage fees" for just 18 days.
* A mechanic's lien with intent to sell had been filed against my car after only 10 days -- something I was never notified about.
* Nearly $1,000 in additional towing charges were added when the vehicle was moved to a repo yard.
At no point did the shop ever contact me about fees, present me with an invoice, or give me the chance to move my car. This created unnecessary stress for me, my insurance company, the DMV and my bank while we sorted through it.
This was one of the most difficult experiences I've ever gone through. Still, I believe there are blessings in everything. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone against taking their vehicle here

5 Star overall rating. I never expected in my life for someone to come and help me the way Raynor has done.
It’s Saturday and he came out on his own to help me . I have no oil plug all my oil drained out on the highway Walmart messed up by not tightening it.
Suggested we go to autozone and try to fill it up and get an oil plug ourselves. Helped me save money. Hense forth also got me autozone discount and saved me alittle extra from having to go to Valvoline. Used what I would have spent and tipped me Raynor because of who he is. A true Gentleman. And rather go to a Great guy instead of someone I don’t know. Thank you again.
Hands down the most professional and compassionate towing and repair company I have ever done business with. It’s so rare to meet such genuine and caring people. Everyone was amazing. I see why they have such good ratings. The difference between them and some of these other tow companies is like night and day. If you ever need a tow Big Joker should be your first choice every time.
Great service. They are extremely busy. Which means lots of folks trust them to work on their vehicles. This speaks levels. Would definitely have them work on my car again.

Got a flat tire on I-40W, and was stranded by the median for almost two hours. Called multiple other towing companies, and was given an average wait time of 1-2 hours. Finally called Big Joker, and they said they’d be there in about 20-30 minutes, and they were! They were super quick, efficient, and friendly! I am so thankful they were able to help us in such a short amount of time! If I could give a higher rating than 5 stars I absolutely would! Thank you so much, Big Joker!!!!
Did a excellent job towing my truck with a bad wheel bearing. Picked it up quick , and did a perfect job getting off the rollback. Driver and helper were very skilled and professional. Would recommend for towing.
I was expecting the price range to be higher but it was not honestly the best tow company out here in NC and they traveled an hour and 30 minutes to get my car back to my house for a reasonable price! I was really satisfied for all the service and i have no complaints at all
Dear Larry Richard's, sorry for your bad experience but the shop didn't build the engine did they they just swapped the engine so big jokers towing can't be responsible for the leak I personally had experience working with your car, and you also had a radiator leak from where a radiator was replaced previously not by big jokers towing and whomever did that failed to fasten the condenser back and the condenser rubbed a hole in the radiator, so with that said I'm sure your condenser is leaking Also , as far as your fuel pump fuse how's its just goes missing after you drove the car home , that's still a mystery ( or some one you know removed it trying to sabotage you), So with all things considered, maybe you should rethink your review Why not post about the fact that we finished the job and had to wait weeks to get paid and didn't charge you crazy storage fees,, I wonder do you go eat at a restaurant and say I cant pay you for 2 weeks , i hope you have a great one
Very bad engine swap where do I begin now my car has all times of oil leaks ac don’t work car don’t start check engine light rip off only get your car towed don’t let them fix will destroy ur car I regret going there wish I can give negative 5 stars
Needed some last minute trucks that would not run pulled on a rollback. Called Big Joker and they were out in less than an hour (after hours I might add)! Very friendly and quick to respond - thank you for your help!
This place is awesome…. We were on our way back from the beach with 5 kids when our truck busted a transmission line, mechanic Terry was there within minutes, even has it began to rain and come an awful storm they still worked to get the truck towed in and fixed within a few hours….. Thank you guys so much, y’all were awesome….
Everyone who works here was kind and compassionate. They came and got us on 40 in the middle of rush hour, when no one else would even admit to having trucks. He was there in minutes and waited by the side of the road with us until my husband could pick me and my daughter up. I just can’t say enough about this business!!
Big Joker rules South and East Triangle!! Repetitive issue with truck night before took 50% longer for local tow to show up. Next day when problem resurfaced, Big Joker’s friendly and happy dispatch quoted 15 mins….helpful, thorough, and friendly fellas showed up in 8 mins. Quick enough transport to Firestone to see problem while hot. Trustable folks.
These people truly look out for your best interest, they go above and beyond just towing. They are amazing. I was in a position that I was told my vehicle would never run again and they felt something was wrong and helped me to not get taken advantage of anymore than I already had been and get my vehicle running. They are truly angels on this earth. I am so grateful to them for all that they did and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!
Not sure if they do employee of the month here but if they do they need to make "Big Joker" aka Sha'rell employee of the month. I just moved here and immediately started having car troubles. Not only did he help me out but he was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He gives the company a great reputation and I will continue to come here every time I have a car issue as well as tell all my friends and coworkers to come here for car troubles or towing needs!!!
These guys saved out butts! Our car broke down at Chargrill the other day. We had been waiting for hours for a tow from AAA that never came, and then we ran into Mr. Big Joker in the parking lot where we had broken down. He offered to give us a tow for a reasonable price and then we were on our way. I'll never call another tow company! Thanks :)
Big Joker has been in Raleigh for years! They are reliable and affordable. I have been using them for 15 years. I just replaced my 1998 Nissan 3 years ago. I wouldn't have been able to drive and maintain that car for 18 years if it weren't for Big Joker! I got nothin' but love for ya!
So I've never had to be towed before.... Is $50 the standard for towing a vehicle half a mile, if so then everything was great!?!?!? I understand it sucks not being very far but that's just how it was. I was on my way to the shop to have a car repaired when my car petered out on me . . .
If you don't know Chop then you should. He's very knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. Prices are reasonable and he definitely knows what he's doing. I wouldn't take my vehicle to anyone else.
I was followed by a driver who attempted to pass me on a turning lane. He was unable to get past me so had to get back behind me. After about 2 miles I pulled into a gas station. He persisted to follow me into the parking lot. Opening his door as if he was going to come after me. Telling me he had my plate number and would be seeing me. So very unprofessional and disrespectful.
Two hours away from home and a piece under my car comes loose and I have to pull over to the side of the road. Big joker towing was one of the few places open on a Sunday so I called them. The dispatcher asked me a few questions and said that help was on the way. She was so nice and comforting! Schrail shows up and quickly fixes the problem right there on the side of the road for me! He was so sweet and explained everything that was wrong and even called a few hours later just to make sure we got home ok. As a mom with my little one in the car he was an angel sent to help us yesterday. I will keep his card in my car in case I ever have any issues while in Raleigh. Called for tow and they were at my location in 15 mins. Best experience with tow company ever! Christy is my hero!!! Professional and courtesy. She even held an umbrella over me to keep me from getting soaked...who does that?! Would def use them again!
