Having periodically stopped by JD Salvager over the past few years and after a rough year, I decided to splurge for myself and my husband. We're audiophiles and thought a restored record console would be a great gift to ourselves. I wish I were writing a different review - I wanted to love this whole experience.
I paid $4,500 (November 7, 2025) for the refurbished console and upgraded speaker package. Owner had me write my contact information down on a scratch piece of paper. He mentions 4-6 weeks and that my order was behind a few others. Not a big deal, I thought. Then I heard nothing. December 17, 2025 (5.5 weeks later), husband pops in to check on status. He's told the parts are ordered and that we'd have it in time for Christmas (by the 23rd). We weren't necessarily asking for it by then, but cool. Only, then, nothing for 2 weeks. I texted the owner who then told me he lost my contact information and blamed a former employee that I had never dealt with. He tells me he hasn't been able to figure it out, but that his sound pro was going to be on site the next day and that it should be wrapped up in about a week. OK.
1 week later, the piece is not finished (speakers are nowhere to be seen on it) and I have zero confidence that it will be. I feel like I paid someone $4,500 to maybe kinda sorta try to figure it out, that person has essentially ghosted me and when we've followed up, he has set expectations that he has not delivered on. It's a shame, it's a cute store with cute stuff, but I can't trust this guy as far as I can throw him. Hopefully I can get my money back, because even if the console is done and sounds like a symphony, I don't want the bad vibes associated with this disappointing experience.
Great place if you love vintage furniture and accessories. They also have vintage stereos that are up graded with Bluetooth capabilities. This is a must see place if you are into art deco, 50's, 60's, or 70's will not disappoint ? They have artwork to go along with everything you pick out as well. PS I'm the guy in the old BMW.
If you have any interest in mid century modern design and/or furniture, I highly recommend a visit to JD Salvager. JD Salvager is a groovy time machine that you can bring stuff home from without worrying about the butterfly effect. We purchased a dining room set and look forward to updating this post about how well the reupholster job turned out, more to follow, highly recommended for now.
Best place for high-end mid-century modern furniture! It’s like visiting a museum of well restored pieces from the 50’s-70’s.
They can do custom restore work too, so you can select the fabric and finishes to match your designs.
And JD is super friendly, and very knowledgeable about every piece there.

A really cool place to find interesting midcentury modern stuff. Had a great time looking around. The owner restores these items wonderfully. I have purchased a few pieces of MCM here.
His stuff is the real deal! If you are looking for mid century modern pieces, this is where you have to go. 2 floors packed with gorgeous pieces. The prices are higher, but it is worth it.
The most beautifully refinished furniture! Mid-century couches, tables, chairs, consoles, lamps. Treasures galore. Good prices. A fun place place to treasure hunt!
Awesome vintage furniture. The warehouse setting lacks air conditioning and gets extremely hot furniture is too close together it is difficult to navigate the space. The selection is of a modest size but every piece is an incredible artifact of history. The furniture they do have there is amazing.
Hidden treasure for unique mid century and mid century modern pieces at reasonable prices. I love the option of buying in its authentic state or having it refurbished on site. Great shopping experience!!!
We loved our visit and were extremely impressed with the inventory and the kind and generous owners. We bought our couch here and were nervous about such a large purchase, but the owner suggested we take time to think about it and they would honor the current discount when we returned. We will surely be back soon to check their new items.
