Rob gives top class service and updates. My car had been sitting for over seven years, and Rob started by giving me a very fair estimate to bring the car back into serviceable repair. He followed through by getting the work done with only a small amount over the initial estimate, and the car is running awesomely now. I would highly recommend this shop to get the job done by experts and to end up with a car in full working order.

Honest! An honest mechanic can be hard to come by, but this business is just that. I'll be a repeat customer and highly recommend this business. Professional and honest people.

Been there 3x as I’m in the neighborhood. Rob and team are quick, honest, pragmatic and kind. They helped me out in an emergency breakdown situation without an appointment and I’ve found are trustworthy straight shooters about options and next steps. What more could you ask for?!

5 stars is not enough. Rob is a great guy and an even better mechanic. I have brought multiple different cars in over the years. Everything from spark plugs to transmission replacements. Always done quickly and perfectly. When one of our cars was going to need a lot of work (more than the car was worth) he told us that. We would not have known and we would have thrown more money into that car. Rob is incredibly honest, incredibly hard working and I trust him to do anything! 5 stars is not enough for the experience I have had with Elk Mountain Motors!

I recently bought a used car for my 16 year old and it had some minor problems, so I wanted it to be looked over from end to end to make sure it was safe for him to drive. I scheduled to have it looked at. Rob and the team provided me up dates via text and could have made more money off me with things like new brakes and control arms, but did what needed to be done now and told me it would be 3-4 months until it needed front brakes and said at some point after the brakes it would need new control arms. When you work with mechanics you want them to be honest and won’t try and take you to the cleaners. I loved that they were honest, and took the time to make sure we understood what was done and even showed us the bad part and what happened to cause the check engine light. Rob and the entire team at Elk Mountain Motors are awesome, the best car repair shop in Asheville. We have older cars that we've been trying to extend the life of before needing to buy new ones, and they've always been upfront and honest with suggested repairs, have great communication with us to discuss options and timeline, are super efficient, and very reasonable with their pricing. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Told me what was wrong with my vehicle, I paid for the diagnosis and picked it back up, all was good. Bought the part they said it was and put it in, same problem. When I went back to ask if they were sure about the diagnosis, they let me know they didn't actually test the solenoid, power to it, or anything to see if it was bad. Just hooked a scanner up to it. When I asked if they could take another look to diagnose it again, they said of course, would be happy to, for twice as much as the first diagnosis, just to hook a scanner to it again. Thought these guys were great when first talking to them.

Great auto repair shop! Brought my Tacoma in for 150K service. Very easily could have added a bunch of unnecessary work to run up the bill but that is not what they do. Couldn’t be happier with their work.

Was able to take my car in while traveling and they held it for a few days. Unfortunately my car needed a different part than the original they got for me. They refunded me and gave me a recommendation to better suit my car. Great costumer service and a reputable business!

Went here back in October of 22 for a wheel speed sensor problem while traveling through the area. They were able to get me in with vwry short notice. Unfortunately, the only part available was an aftermarket with is fine. However, it would not communicate with my car pcm. They then put the old part back in and only charged me for minimal labor, which is much appreciated. They even offered a loaner car and that was very helpful due to our very tight schedule. The shop was very clean and customer service was fantastic! The owner and employees were super friendly. Of I were local this would be my go to shop. Thanks again, guys.

Can’t say enough good things about this shop. This fall I had a bunch of small issues with our two cars and every time Elk Mountain Motors handled them quickly and at a fair price. Very professional and knowledgeable. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Can't say thank you enough to Rob and his mechanic for working us in on a busy Friday. We were in town on vacation and our "Slightly" modified E63 needed TLC. As a shop owner I understand the stress a customer like me can bring in on a Friday. Rob said no problem, we will work you in.... they did! Honest, dependable, highly recommend. We were in from out of town and our car was overheating. They got us in same day and diagnosed and resolved the issue quickly. Very reasonably priced, knowledgeable and friendly. So glad we found this place.

Rob and his team are the best! I experienced a puttering engine and a check engine light. went here first thing in the morning. I brought my truck in for routine maintenance and due to a faulty component that was installed, the engine seized up while it was under Mike's care. Mike and his team took 100% responsibility and replaced the engine and warrantied their work. Mike's professionalism, commitment to quality work and friendly staff are what made a potentially stressful situation feel so smooth for me. It is because of Mike's integrity as a business owner that I will continue to take my vehicles to him and recommend anyone to him as well.

We count on Mike's for service and repairs on all of our vehicles. So happy to have him and his ace crew nearby our home in North Asheville. When necessary they even pick us up or drive us home. I have used Mike's serveral times in the last several months for a couple of significant repairs. Very positive results and experience. From the road, the shop looks pretty basic but inside you find clean, spacious and well equipped bays.

Mike's Auto came highly recommended to me. I had a unique situation with a very old car and Mike's Auto Services found that it could not be fixed. When I asked for the charge, they said nothing. Since we couldn't fix it, we are not going to charge you. I was very impressed with them since I knew they spent their valuable time checking out my car. I give them 5 stars!

Did not clearly communicate how much he was going to charge per diagnosis and after he replaced a $6 spark plug charged me $75 for labor and equipment. You had better make sure he knows if you want work done or not, clearly my typed note saying not to work on anything before consulting me was not enough. My car's radiator leak was damaged much further after taking it there and is now out of commission entirely. I would absolutely go elsewhere. They aren't honest.
