Absolutely amazing. We brought our 2023 ram 1500 in because it was making a clicking noise while turning. I was Absolutely 100% sure we would need out CV joints replaced and braced for impact on how much time and money it was gonna cost us. It turns out it was a simple fix of turning off my auto 4wd. The integrity from this shop was just beyond my comprehension. They didnt even charge us. They could have absolutely "found" something wrong and charged us whatever to fix it. This is now our go to place for any vehicle issues.

We are from out of town and had a check engine light on our way up while driving through Lenoir. (Transmission related). Tried calling the first local place I could find and they were booked up Friday and didn’t seem to care to help at all. Found JD’s number and called first thing Friday morning. He was able to get me in and get a new sensor installed to get us back on the road. JD was super helpful and even gave me and my family a ride to Main Street to knock around while they were fixing our car. Then picked us back up!! Very thankful for JD and his team! We visit West Jefferson often and will not hesitate who we go to then next time we need our car serviced. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend JD's Auto Care in West Jefferson, NC. Can't say enough good things about their work ethic and customer service. That's hard to find these days, so wanted to spread the word. I live in Durham and was visiting West Jefferson when my Jeep's check engine light indicated I had a transmission problem. A different shop was unable to find the issue. I was so excited to find this place. I had a low tire pressure, and they had no problem taking a look when I stopped by. They discovered the problem, and fixed it. The price was great. A wonderful small town business, that I will definitely be using again. Thank you for your quick help today.

I wish we'd found JD's sooner! After a nightmare at another garage in town (for whom I'm leaving a review next...), JD's was a godsend! They're HONEST, helpful, fast, communicative, and really seem to operate with integrity above all else. I'm sold - this is our new garage and am so relieved we found them. We brought our Grand Cherokee in last week, and they test drove it, spent time working on finding the issue, and didn't even charge the diagnostic fee when there wasn't anything to fix! They wouldn't even accept a tip to thank them for their time. So a few days later, we are picking up our Terrain (figures trouble always comes in pairs) and, not only did they diagnose the issue FAST, I had a call back in no time that it was done, that they saved me money, and that it was ready to go. If you want honesty and a really GOOD price, go to JDs.

Our son had just bought his first car and it needed to be looked over. Josh ran the diagnostics on it, changed out the front brakes and rotors, found the spot that was leaking some oil and fixed that, and passed the inspection. They took the car in the day we brought it to them and had it all fixed up within a few days (had to wait on a part). They know what they are doing, won't cheat you out on pricing and are honest and transparent about everything. Would recommend them to everyone!! Thank you all for being a trustworthy shop in Ashe!

I live in Raleigh, my daughter was visiting West Jefferson and had car trouble. JD took her in on the spot, checked her car and took the time to call and review the issue with me. Best Auto Care around! Best experience, best service My friend and I were visiting West Jefferson and my brake light came on. We called JD's and they told us to come right in. They immediately took my car in and inspected it. They were extremely nice and caring. I felt safe and knew I wasn't going to get scammed. They told me to come back or call whenever I needed anything for my car and I definitely will! I go to Appstate and live in Boone but will 100% take my car to West Jefferson just for their business and hospitality.

Would highly recommend JD’s to anyone in need of repair or general maintenance. They’re honest, skillful, and genuinely care about their customers. We were in town on vacation from a few hundred miles away in Virginia and brought our car in when it was acting up - they wanted to make sure that we would be safe driving home on the long trip and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue while I waited. I only wish they were in our hometown because they’d easily become our go-to mechanics!

The owner JD not only took me out into the shop and showed me everything that needed to be done but also explained it to me. Tiffany at the desk was extremely helpful and got me rescheduled with no delay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

JD's did an outstanding job replacing a radiator and fan clutch recently on my Jeep Grand Cherokee they were fairly priced, provided professional workmanship, and excellent customer service! I contacted JD's on a Friday morning having just arrived in town the evening before with no other means of transportation. JD stated while they had a busy schedule that day they would do there best to get my vehicle repaired that same day if I could get it to him that morning! They did this and more, I walked the 20 min or so trip to downtown West Jefferson waiting for the repairs to be completed. Later in the afternoon I received a call updating me on the progress, I mentioned that I need twenty minutes or so to get back to their shop as I was on foot. His team member who called asked where I was located then offered to come pick up me up to obtain my vehicle. I was extremely impressed by their willingness to go over and above during what was an extremely stressful situation. JD and his team really saved my trip! If your ever in the West Jefferson area and have car troubles JD Auto Care is the place to go for all your repairs!!

The BEST auto shop anywhere. Service is great. I needed a side mirror replaced and waited less than an hour.

If I didn't have to put a star up there I wouldn't even put the one I did. I took my Jeep out there to have the brakes and rotors changed but when I was charged an outrageous price I took my Jeep they went to service in return four lug nuts one on each tire I'm serious one of them is melted all the way to the rim this is unsatisfactory and unprofessional business I do not recommend anyone take their vehicle to these people

JD has taken care of us several times and always goes above and beyond. He replaced the timing belt on our Acura (a huge job) and had it done in a day! Six months later, we needed tires — called him up and he gave us four solid options at different price points. The tires were there the next day. We also scheduled an alignment, but the night before, the car started making an awful knocking noise. Turns out the timing belt tensioner had a mechanical failure — nothing to do with JD, just a manufacturer defect. Even though we were only booked for an alignment, JD took the time out of his undoubtedly packed schedule to diagnose and fix the issue first before doing the alignment. I can’t recommend him and his shop enough. He actually explains what’s going on, walks you through the whole process, and doesn’t rip you off. Him and his team are the whole damn package — I’ve been spoiled, and honestly, I don’t think I can take my vehicles anywhere else now. Everyone is always incredibly friendly and ready to help you no matter what. Thank you JD’s Auto!

I'm from out of town and I had what I thought was a transmission problem. JD checked out my vehicle and showed me it was something much less of a problem. My first experience with JD was after a friend's recommendation. A mechanic I had previously used for a few years had replaced my mass flow sensor twice... The second time he said the part was bad and he got another one to replace it at no charge. When the same problem occurred again I took it to JD. He told me that the previous part had been installed incorrectly and there was a clip that was not properly employed. He took care of the problem at significant savings to me and I have been taking my vehicles there ever since and never been disappointed. Let's face it nobody wants to spend money on auto repair... But when I need it I'll spend my money at JD's .

I will never go anywhere else for auto repair!! I had a massive coolant leak, and they got me in right away, ordered parts, and had me back on the road the next day. Not only that, but they took great care to keep the car's interior clean - I really appreciated the disposable seat covers and floor mats. The owner, the receptionists, and the mechanics were all super-friendly, showed me the problem and how they repaired it, and explained everything. Plus, the pricing was 100% fair and transparent. My emergency ended up becoming a great experience. 10/10, would recommend! Thanks, JD's!

Was looking for an honest, good, local auto repair shop since we moved to Ashe Co a couple of years ago. We previously had our cars serviced in Blowing Rock and that drive was just a bit extra. JD and his team are phenomenal! Courteous, kind, fast, reasonably priced and on our last job they went above and beyond to fix an issue that another auto shop created. Definitely will be back and highly recommend.

Thanks to JD's and Taylor, my 1986 Toyota truck runs like a champ again. Professional, thorough, friendly and skilled -- all the things I hope for in a mechanic shop. So happy to have found this place. They recharged the air conditioning on my other vehicle too, so I am riding in comfort. I highly recommend them!!

Took car on Friday 6/7/24 at about 10:30 AM telling JD about problem the brakes were grinding. He checked them out and said both front and brake brakes need replacing. He figured out the exact amount it would cost and said he could get the car in in about 30 minutes. He got it in and had it done at about 2PM. The brakes are going good. I will go back the next time I need work on a car. Thanks JD

Great work replacing my AC evaporator, everything works great after taking it to JD. These guys are fast and reliable. Price may be a little high depending on what you need done but definitely worth the quality work. Will be returning if I have any issues later on.

JD Is the Most honest mechanic I have ever met. He always tells you what you need, but does not try to oversell you! Yesterday he was able to fix my car problem that I have had since almost the day I bought it. I have been told it was a factory problem and could not be fixed, but he fixed it for a very reasonable price! Cannot recommend this shop enough!

Great work replacing the timing belt and water pump on my Tundra. The work was done on time for a fair price. Most of all they were very honest and upfront. Gave me an initial quote but called the next day to give a lower quote saying he had accounted for too much time and this was all before I brought it in. I wouldn't have known the difference so he could have charged me more but he didn't. They showed me the belt they took off also. They were very friendly and helpful as well. I will definitely call them again for any future work.

I had rotors and brake pads replaced on an older van I bought. Plus there was "a lot" of aftermarket wiring and components on the van that were causing problems. The guys at JD's traced them all down removed them and restored it back to factory setup. All really fast and at a very fair price. JD told me up front what his plan was for chasing the wiring issues and kept me up to date on how it was going. Very pleased with the whole experience. They've got my business going forward.

I was visiting my sister and was ready to take my stored car on a 10 hr drive to Fla. A couple days before having to leave the brakes started shuttering. The kind mechanic got me in right away and did the brakes quickly and perfectly. They even eliminated a squeak that had been there for years that nobody could figure out! Very professional and reliable Highly recommended!
