What clients say about Station Yards in Lake Ronkonkoma (NY)

We absolutely love it here BUT we have tried a few times to go to the shops and the parking is horrible! I don’t want to park in the garage to just run in for take out or the liquor store ! I want better convince! To park in the garage for dinner is great ! You built a beautiful attraction but please do better with quick in and out parking !

The station yards is so gorgeous. They did a beautiful job renovating the area. Everything is so nice and clean and the stores are super nice! I went there on a Saturday morning and there was 3-hour free parking in their parking garage.

I have been a resident at The Core at Station Yards for over two years, and I feel compelled to share how drastically the quality of living has declined since Greystar took over management. When the property was previously managed by Bozzuto, the difference was night and day. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about the residents and the community. Employees like Nick and Audrey were exceptional responsive, respectful, and proactive in addressing concerns. Unfortunately, the current management team has created the exact opposite experience. The current staff is consistently rude, dismissive, and uninterested in resolving resident concerns. Issues are routinely brushed off rather than addressed. For a development of this scale and price point, this level of disregard for residents is unacceptable. The noise issues alone are overwhelming. This complex is located near an airport, the Long Island Expressway, and the train station. One would assume the building would have been constructed with higher-quality soundproofing and windows to account for that. Ironically, those are not the noises that keep residents awake at night. Instead, we are subjected to constant disturbances from intoxicated people outside bedroom windows, screaming in the courtyard, music blaring at all hours, and dumpsters being dragged loudly through the courtyard in the early morning hours often on weekends with absolutely no consideration for the residents living here. The building maintenance and cleanliness have also deteriorated significantly. The hallway carpets are filthy and frequently smell like garbage because residents’ trash is routinely left sitting outside apartment doors for extended periods. Walking through the hallways often feels like stepping into a garbage room rather than a luxury residential building. The parking garage situation is equally frustrating. The company managing the garage employs staff who are extremely unprofessional and difficult to deal with, creating yet another unnecessary source of stress for residents. When we first moved in, our apartment experienced severe flooding. To this day, there is still a lingering smell of mold or mildew that has never been properly addressed by management. In addition, our washing machine has broken approximately four times despite the building being relatively new with new appliances. These are not minor inconveniences they are ongoing maintenance failures that should never occur in a property marketed as a premium living environment. Frankly, the current living conditions resemble something closer to a poorly managed college dormitory rather than a high-end residential development. Tritec Real Estate Company needs to seriously reconsider its decision to place this property under Greystar management. The change has been a massive step backward and has left many long-term residents extremely dissatisfied and actively considering leaving. Removing Greystar and restoring competent management would go a long way toward repairing the damage that has been done to what was once a promising and well-run community.

All I can say is " don't get stuck here." I work many jobs and this particular day,I was working as a rideshare driver. I had a ride at the Ronkonkoma train station but was early so I pulled into the area by the Playa Bowls location. The parking lot was empty. I stayed a few minutes and when I went to start my car ,it was dead. I had my hood up,called my mechanic, and he came by to assess and fix. As he's working on my car,an employee comes by ( I don't know exactly what his position is/was) and asks how long we're going to be and tells me "this isn't a garage." It's about 10 degrees below zero,I'm freezing,my mechanic is struggling, and you want to know how long I'm going to be? I'm also licensed security and if this person is security, he should be ashamed of himself. How about asking if we're OK or if we'd like to get warm or need anything? The other day I was driving, passed a car accident, pulled over, and said " is everyone ok,do you need anything?" Because that's what a human should be doing. Thank you to the young employees in Playa Bowls who allowed me to warm up and even asked if I wanted their WiFi. That's what good customer service is all about. Let's try to help people and then I could have written a five star review and bragged about how wonderful your employee was rather than having him inform me that I wasn't in a garage. I didnt want to be out in the cold shivering but things happen. I hope the next time you find yourself stuck, you're met with a kind friendly team who offers you kindness rather than an attitude.

Resident here for two years the false fire alarms going off randomly all hours of the night for no reason several times a month and even multiple times a week is ridiculous. Not only is it an extreme disturbance to your quality of life here. Typically blaring during quiet hours ranging between midnight and 3 am. It poses a serious safety concern that these fake alarms go off so frequent that the residents here including myself no longer evacuate when the alarm sounds because we know there is never actually a fire but instead faulty sensors or equipment the management refuses to address. I know multiple residents that have complained in the resident portal, google reviews, on Reddit and even a resident that took it upon themselves to print fliers to capture signatures of residents for a petition to management. This is ridiculous, especially when you consider the quiet pricey rent you pay for. This needs to be rectified immediately. Would love to hear from management regarding this.

Absolutely disgusting experience. This apartment complex is nothing more than a soulless, corporate money grab dressed up as “luxury living.” I was charged $3 for parking, which somehow turned into $9.99 after payment, and then—after I already paid—I received a message claiming the payment “wasn’t taken” and threatening a late fee if I didn’t pay again. So which is it? You took my money, or you didn’t? ? This feels intentionally deceptive and predatory. Nickel-and-diming residents, confusing billing systems, and automated threats of late charges are not “mistakes”—they’re features of a system designed to squeeze tenants for every cent possible. There is zero accountability, zero transparency, and zero respect for residents. If you enjoy fighting billing errors, being treated like a wallet instead of a human being, and dealing with cold, corporate-run management that couldn’t care less, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the stress and stay far away.

So I did a review about station yards apartments a day ago and everything I said was the truth, using the handle SMD. When I tried to update my review, I couldn't so I had to do this one using my daughters email. But since my review I received an email from the company showing me a break down of all the fees that I guess is in addition to the rent of the property I'm not sure. When I asked them if they took a housing voucher they told me yes. Jay made sure he printed that I came in with a voucher and they are entertaining me as a tenant but are they though?, I think not. I asked for the rental of the units and instead they send me a list of fees. I guess to deter me from even applying for an apartment and at the same time can put on the books they are not discriminatory against people with housing vouchers. The funny part is I did the tour not because I thought I would have been accepted but because I know I wouldn't. It felt good being somewhere I felt I was in my own element. Not everyone that's taking help from the government is a substance abuser user.

The Core at Station Yards has so much potential. The design is sleek, the atmosphere feels almost Midtown-like, and the proximity to the Ronkonkoma train station makes it very convenient. Unfortunately, the reality of living here has been overshadowed by serious issues under TRITEC’s management. Management is inconsistent, unresponsive, and seems to lack a clear protocol for addressing tenant concerns. Repeated violations—constant noise, the smell of weed, and alarms going off at all hours—have been ignored. The late-night noise from Tap Room is especially DISRUPTIVE to daily life; there is no reason residents should be kept awake past midnight by rowdy crowds. Adding to the frustration, the so-called neighborhood security patrols appear ineffective. If they are active at all, tenants certainly don’t feel the impact. The Core could be an incredible community, but until management steps up with real accountability and responsiveness, it falls far short of the experience promised.

I love Station Yards! I think it is the best thing that could happen to Suffolk. I am a bit biased because they have Playa Bowls and it is my favorite thing in the world. As someone who grew up in Ronkonkoma, I love coming here to meet up with my friends for a drink. The only downside is with everything going on right now on Long Island, I have not heard them speak up about the ICE raids. Along with letting their hispanic workers get resources needed to avoid anything happening to them. Although many might not understand why they need to, it is necessary. Whenever I would pass by while they were still building, I would only see hispanic construction workers all the time. They did an amazing job on constructing the area and deserve to know that they are respected. Also they have a Lucharitos which sells Mexican food so it would be nice for the Station Yards community to speak up for these and let everyone know they are there for the hispanic community. As someone who has Italian immigrant grandparents, it is such an important topic. I really hope Station Yards could take this into consideration as it would only built the community more.

My sister and our best friend both live just down the block from Station Yards. It's so conveniently located that we often walk over to the restaurants & communal areas just to hang out and relax after a hard days work. It's taken a long time for this project to come together, but I'm happy to see more businesses finally moving in and opening up. I can't wait until the final phase of construction is complete!

Greedy money grab, mediocre public areas, surrounded by crumbling impoverished infrastructure, steer clear. Large corporately owned buildings with 0 feel of a thriving downtown. Same restaurants that are already in every downtown Long Island town. There’s no uniqueness or culture. The events they attempt to host are sad at best. On top of that received a $50 parking ticket for parking for less than an hour with a newborn. Was excited for something like this to open in the area but I won’t be back.

What a great complex. The courtyard is great with shops, and the lawn area. Went between Thanksgiving and Christmas when for four weekends they have entertainment, vendors, food trucks. It was cold but reminded me of being in Florida. Can't wait to see what they do when the weather gets warmer.

They did a great job here-how can anyone not be pleased with this project? There was nothing there and now we have apartments and nice shops. The one thing that baffles me is the name-Station Yards? you guys couldn't do better than that? Station gardens, station village, station commons- I'm not feelin' station yards-but it is nice.

Newly built apartments and some very prominent businesses are coming soon at this location right across from Ronkonkoma LIRR train station.

As a Ronkonkoma resident to see this come to life is surreal in the best way possible. So cool and can’t wait for the businesses to open and flourish.
