What clients say about Target in New York (NY)

Honestly this target deserves to be looted. Has everything locked behind glass cases but doesn’t send employees when you press the button or when you ask the people at the front desk. Won’t go to another target in the city again given how awful the experience of shopping at one is

By far the worst target I been to in NYC almost 20 times I press the sensor for target employees to walk by me and one even called in for no one to still come and they annoyed when you asked for a third time

I try and go to this brick and mortar store in my neighborhood instead of ordering online. I figure it employs folks in the neighborhood. But my visit just now makes me question why? I waited a long time in the health section for someone to unlock one of the cases. An employee first walked by and said someone else would be there shortly. Not. Then a group of employees happened to gather near where I was waiting and I had to ask if one would open the case. When I said I'd been waiting a long time, the employee didn't say "sorry about that." They rudely said "well I'm here now." Bad service. I'd rather buy online from now on and I think I will.

This was a great Target! It was nice and compact without feeling crowded or smushed in too tightly! They had a nice selection of seltzers, and the staff did a great job when I needed to return an item. Would highly recommend using this Target!

Stopped in to get some organic fruits. Prices were lower than other popular supermarkets. Bags of apples were half of the price at WF and TJ. Also, better customer service is needed at the self-checkout. I entered the area while an employer was arranging the bags. She turns and stated: I don't bite. Use any one and walked away. Totally unacceptable and uncalled for.

I was told by an employee to come at 8am when the store opened to get a change to pick up pokemon only to say that it isn't there and that It will come later in the afternoon. I swung back a little before 12 only to find out it's all sold out, very frustrating to be told false information and ended up wasting my time

One of the worst targets I’ve ever been to. Somehow they don’t even have the most basic products that you’d find anywhere else easily. Constantly out of stock for the most basic things like contact lens solution or baby wipes…

They profile people and never heave anything. I swear they don’t stock anything, i walk in there one day and the next still the same. Their selection is already small (especially the clothing, jewellery, and accessories) and it sucks they don’t have it in stock. Besides that it’s nice for the most part

This Target/Trader Joe's combo used to be so elite. Unfortunately, this Target locks almost all non-food items in cases. Shopping here can be so frustrating. Corporate should be ashamed of themselves. If you are so worried about theft, check receipts or hire more people.

This target is impossible to shop at. They are overstaffed but the staff have a huge attitude and seem to be supported by management in acting that way. If you need an item, just get it off the carts that are all over the store blocking the aisles and all the items. If you are able to catch the attention of one of the staff, which seem to outnumber the customers, when they are not busy chatting with their friends at the store or pretending to put stock away at what looks like a pace so slow they practiced moving extra slow at work, they will likely be rude and try to get out of doing any work. It is as if the customers are in the staff's way by shopping and it is a big inconnvenience to them that they are there. What is this? This neighborhood is a sort of food dessert in chinatown and the only two real grocieries are in this location. Both are sketchy.

Product locked behind cases but nobody that works there wants to open them. Good thing they just leave the same product on carts unattended or else I wouldn't have been able to get my laundry detergent. Shout out to the incompetent upper management that understaffed the store and shout out to the shift lead that just left giant stock carts all over the store blocking walkways and blocking product. Highly encourage you skip the self checkout.

Since most items are locked up, some employees have a terrible attitude when it comes to assisting customers. I visited twice, and both times, the ladies I approached for help responded with an attitude and made snide remarks. It’s clear that customers would rather not have to ask for assistance, but with everything locked up, we have no choice.

1. Bought hash potato smells like clorox. 2. I see rotten food there. I use this target cause its close but Only for emergency need ,of course, cause you need to bet your health to buy food here.

I truly believe the security and staff here needs to be evaluated. I’m a frequent shopper here and I feel uncomfortable when shopping here. The staff follows me around the store. Hovers over me at checkout overall disturbing my shopping experience here. The security do not take their jobs seriously and they always seem to have hyper aggressive tendencies.

Most of the employees are rude but overall I just walk in and out with my items. Came in here with my son to buy some items and this one employee kept walking back and forth. I come into this Target and spend money I was ready to explode on this employee but my son called me down. If there's security they should be walking around the store not employees playing it off as if they're "fixing" items. I agree management needs to really evaluate the staff in this location.

Unlike its practice in the 'burbs, Target seems to have taken a saturation approach to stores in NYC: it has installed a large number of them, each with differing sizes depending on some factors like local rent and available space. I've visited 4 so far, and they range from the smallest, on Greenwich Street (not to be confused with Greenwich Avenue!), to the largest I have seen so far, on 14 Street, just east of Union Square. Each store seems to be stocked with different size versions of at least some basics (groceries, clothing, housewares, etc.), with the smaller stores lacking totally in some departments, and the larger ones doing their best to cram as many representative departments as possible. Prices are generally noticeably lower, or at least very competitive, than most stores, at least in lower Manhattan. There are a number of self-checkout positions, with the amount of staff varying depending on the store size. This staff is generally dedicated to replenishment of stock and the unlocking of the anti-theft cabinets that, sadly have become a common sight in even the "good" neighborhoods of the city in the last few years. Recommended.

STORE IS HORRIBLE, Completely Rude staff you can definitely tell the difference between broadway target and this one. You have staff that feel like they can do what they want. Not helpful at all. Most horrible experience.

I just tried to call and see if Target had something in stock that was listed on their website. The phone directory sent me to questions about 'general merchandise'. It rang 5 times and then hung up. I wanted to call first because they never have anything I need. Ever. It's become a running joke in our house. "Should we go buy Target and pick up shampoo?" "HAHAHAHA That's a knee slapper." I guess they sell stuff for student dorm rooms and that's about it. So lucky you if you need beer pong supplies. I don't understand how a store like this can stay in business.

This Target is horrible. The employees are constantly just fooling around with each other and god forbid you ask them a question. Inventory carts are always blocking a lot of aisles while the employees are always grouped up in different parts of the store talking. I asked an employee for help during self checkout when I didn’t see a discount applied on an item that very clearly said it was 20% off for Target Circle members and the dates of the promotion were 1/14-1/20. First problem is when I started explaining the issue, she was off looking at her friend in the distance and laughing with her saying “I’m helping a customer” and then turned back to me and said “What?” so I had to repeat myself. She scanned the item and said no discount was showing up. I told her there’s a sign there that says there’s a discount and I could show her the sign. She just laughed at me and fiddled with her scan thing and just said “What do you want me to do, change the price?” while laughing again. She was of no help, she wouldn’t even try to help me fix this issue, I offered to show her the sign so she could tell me if I was missing something but god forbid I ask her to do her job. All she was worried about was going back to her friend to talk. The manager at this place really needs to reevaluate their employees and actually hire people who will work and not just hang out with their friends.

Excellent experience! Went in for one item and I noticed a big sale going on, with sheets, blankets, bedding covers, pillowcases, I took advantage... It was amazing!

I like that the target is near by. my biggest pet peeve is that they barely have anything. they always direct me to the location in brooklyn or somewhere else online. also their ATM machine is ALWAYS messed up. they leave it up to the customers to call to fix the issue. the workers I have come across are friendly and helpful. The store is neat & clean. you will have better luck finding what you need in the food section then any other sections. especially online. but what ever they have in stock that I may need, I order it and it's ready in less then two hours. I would have gave them a higher rating but unfortunately their online purchase and items to this store is not always available.

I primarily use the store for deliveries and they are quicker than Amazon. For a small store, I would recommend shopping via the target app and picking up your items rather than looking through the aisles for your list of things. Only once was I able to get same day delivery which was amazing but it doesn't look like this store offers that anymore or it's the app having problems.

As others point out, they're sort of limited by the space they're working with here – pretty limited selection compared to other Target locations. Physically a bit cramped too. Almost feels like a Rite-Aid with some extra home stuff shoved in there. Customer service seems perfectly fine to me – not the type of staff to leap to your service if you're looking lost, but happy to help if you ask for it. Large self check-out section is quick and convenient. But with the size of this place, it couldn't hurt to check ahead of time whether they have what you're looking for.

I didn't have any interaction with any staff so cannot comment on customer service, but the location is quite small, and more of a convenience location. Understandably its in Manhattan, so can't compare it much bigger locations in the suburbs, but just by the real estate alone, its very small with a light selection of products.

This Target is small compared to other Targets but better than not having one in the area at all. Selections are quite small but there’s still a section for all your needs and staff is nice and the place seems clean.

I came to this Target location for an online order pick-up and it was fairly quick. I was in and out within 5 minutes. I've been here before to browse the aisles and was happy with the selection, although it's not stocked like other larger Target's.

This newer Target is just over the bridge for me. If I want to, I can take a good walk there. Yet I was very disappointed in this Target location. I mean we all know how large they are but not this location. Like always, anywhere in New York City/Manhattan area, parking is always a challenge to being with. For me, it's only worth coming here for emergency needs but I don't believe I'll do much shopping here.

A relatively new, but scaled down Target on the LES. You can find a nice selection of items but it pales in comparison to the full-sized stores. The lines (which are all self checkout) can't get long at times.
Jan 16, 2019 -
It's a relatively small target non the less they have a little bit of everything. I was dying for this store to open for the longest cause it's just couple of blocks away from my apartment (convince to the maximum). LES definitely needed this spot for a quick grocery shopping. The workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Ignore the reviews that are bad mouthing the employees here (they probably think that the world revolves around them). This place has restrooms and water fountain. I totally like the inside design, definitely a LES vibe. Since the store just opened it is extremely crowded. To avoid lines for checking out get there early morning or late evening. I'm sure the hype will die off soon in a month or two.
