So far this location is good. A good selection of CD’s and Vinyl’s , although I prefer more Hip Hop or Rap options for CD’s. And the DVD section does have great options to pick from , might be the best part of the store so far. Might need to buy more Kanye West Albums on CD.

Went here today to get my hands on the new Taylor swift Album LP spent an hour today getting one and i got one ! Im a OG Die hard swiftie since 2006 since the very first album and my experience was great the staff was amazing . The cashier was an amazing person there was an issue with the machine and was very apologetic and did her best to fix the issue and the security guard was cool too. So why 4 stars? one of the stalls in the mens bathroom was out of order and the other one was occupied i had to go bad luckily when i know theres a possibility of me having an accident I always wear an adult diaper but it could be a lot worse if I didnt PLEASE NOTE: Do not blame me if when you go and they do not have it its really selling like hot cakes YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

this was my first time at this particular location and I brought my children with me and they enjoyed it. They are complete bookworms just like me. They had all of my toddlers favorite books and they were inexpensive. The staff is super nice and helpful.

Very wide selection of books, journals, activity books, Legos etc. Kids loved this place more than other B&N locations.

Fun to visit this enormous location of Barnes & Nobles. At some parts the floor was uneven. The store itself was quite bare. The security guards kept following us closely which was mildly unpleasant.

This is one of my fave B&N to go to in the city, with several floors of books to choose from, a great section for the children and plenty of seating at the Starbucks. I especially like the view of Union Square while I’m sipping on some coffee and reading through my selection. I’ve seen chess players, study groups, painters, remote workers, service animals, and much more. There’s a place for everyone. Go here!

This is such a cool Barnes & Nobles. This B&N is four stories and includes a Starbucks Cafe which is pretty large and allows for quite a few people to hang out, study, and read. The building is clean and really organized. The bathrooms were really clean and the staff was very helpful.

Fantastic Barnes and Noble. Something for every book lover here. Excellent seating area for special events. Solid music selection and cafe. A great location to grab a book and head out to Union Square Park to read.

This Barnes & Noble in Union Square is huge — four floors of nothing but books, comics, gifts, and more. The building itself is classic old-school New York, and the vibe makes you wanna just hang out and get lost in the shelves. The café upstairs is perfect if you wanna grab a coffee and chill with your book. Staff are cool and helpful without being pushy. Honestly, every time I walk in here, I end up staying way longer than I planned.

Our favorite place to be! There’s always a great selection of books here both normal print, special editions and signed copies! We love attending the book signings here and come all the way from New Jersey to explore 10/10 recommend

I gave always loved this location for many reason. Opposite Union Square and with many floors of nor only books but merch. The Starbucks Cafe is indeed one of my favorites. I love to park here and draw our Paint and from time to time they have entertained some very good venues.

Barnes & Noble Union Square is one of my favorite places in NYC. The store is spacious and beautifully organized across multiple floors, with something for every kind of reader—fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, graphic novels, art, and more. There’s also a cozy café where you can relax with a book and a coffee. Bonus: there’s a public restroom available on the third floor, which is convenient and appreciated, especially in a busy city like New York. Whether you’re browsing or buying, it’s a peaceful and inspiring place to spend time.

A quieter store than the one on 5th and definitely more inviting to readers. Vinyl records selection is also much better.

Guiness book world record Biggest Barnes and Noble Union Square...4 floors....beautiful views overlooking Farmers market area while enjoying a Starbucks and checking out books. Worth it!

As a book lover it was great to see this 4 story Barnes and Noble. Left with 4 books I’ve been wanting (1 for every level ). Definitely recommended visiting as this is the only Barnes & Noble this big it actually made it into the Guinness world records for being the biggest one based on square footage.

Favorite B&N! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable about books. The staff at the registers don’t know much-but the staff on the floors, can walk you around and talk you through genres and release like a Google manual! LOL it’s great! I dont know when books got so expensive? I bought 5 books and spent $120 ! It was worth it, they have new releases, hard copy, paper back, THE YOUNG ADULT SECTION IS ENORMOUS! I even found WOOBLES!!! anywho! Come!

My first time visiting the Barnes & Noble in Union Square, NYC — and I honestly loved it. The store is spacious, peaceful, and filled with so many genres to explore. I grabbed a cozy iced vanilla latte and a buttery croissant from the in-store Starbucks, then settled in with my book (The Conference of the Birds) and just enjoyed the calm. The atmosphere had that perfect mix of city energy and bookish escape. Definitely coming back again.

A beautiful place to visit and one of the biggest Barnes and Noble we've been to. The guy in the music area was a joy to speak with. He helped me search for vinyl. There are so many books to choose from and a café and seating at the very top. The bathrooms could use some work, but it's not as bad as some others. I sat on the floor at the end cap out of the way near a few magazines, and an older white lady said, we usually don't allow people to sit in the aisle. I wasn't but she was bothered, and quickly disappeared into thin air. We aren't from here but have had our share of experiences that prove a lot of what is being said. I didn't make my purchase after that incident and don't think I will purchase anything from them. I've had similar incidents in the past with Barnes and Noble, and they are notorious for racial bias. The store was clean and well organized. It is directly across the street from Union Park, where there are an endless amount of vendors. Especially food and organic produce. There is an escalator, so have no fear.

Had to stop here for a look around. Huge four story book store with lots of great options. Books, magazines, board games, even Lego sets are for sale here.

This is an amazing 4 story bookstore. My granddaughter spent a couple of hours looking and buying. They have a really nice café on the third floor. It was packed and people were waiting for a seat. The pastries and desserts were very good.

This feels like the star Barnes & Noble of New York and maybe the United States. It’s the survivor of the Amazon era, the big multi-leveled book palace with live events and readings. One of the best cross-sections of New Yorkers from all walks of life. So big you can get lost and drift among the stacks. It’s a neighborhood anchor and the departmental image of analog-era, transitional era New York, caught like a beacon of the 1990s moment when much was lost but so much still remained. It just feels like the B&N so many New Yorkers have browsed and bought at. We’re so far from “You’ve Got Mail,” but you can sense that nostalgia for those relatively benign problems here. It’s the mess we want. And by the way: great book selection among the many shelves and sections.

Biggest Barnes & Noble branch in the area offering a vast collection of books, DVDs (in 2025!), cards, legos, art, and more. A cafe serving Starbucks coffee and externally-sourced baked goods is located on the third floor. I had an Autumn quiche and was quite happy with how it tasted. The cafe has a big seating area where you can read a book while enjoying a treat or play board games with complete strangers.

I love Barnes & Noble. They had so many options to choose from in terms of books, novels, comic books and accessories that you can spend the whole day there. What I don’t like is that they are so strict when it comes to use the bathroom. They used to be more generous.

Great bookstore with tons and tons of books! It was my first time in Barnes so I was very excited. I feel like the place could do with a bit of TLC though.

This has been my favorite Barnes and Noble since I was 14 years old. Haven't been to visit it in about 15 years. Went last weekend while visiting home. It's just as awesome as I remember it. Excellent staff and so many books and such to choose from.

By far one of the best bookstores I have ever visited. Period. One of the most supportive staffs ever. I was unable to find one book so I talked to one of the staff members at Barns and Noble and then they contacted the cashier and within 3 minutes I got my book. Ground floor, first floor and second floor where you can enjoy your books with hot cup of coffee. Amazing vibes and most important things that it has apart from books is the music , games and not regular games. Come visit whenever you have time. Happy Reading!

This is a great Barnes and Noble the largest i have seen! There are about 4 floors all of which are well organized and stocked. The floors are divided into several sections and dedicated to children, adults, different themes, etc.

WOW ! What a great Barnes and Noble! It’s huge! And so many floors! It’s one of the coolest and nicest looking Barnes and Nobles in their franchise. The store is clean and well stocked and feels very NYC! You’ll find people hanging out reading on the floor on the outskirts by the windows, and up in the cafe. The cafe feels like it has more selection than other Barnes & Nobles in NY & NJ; but I’d have to pay closer attention to know. The staff I interacted with was nice but not a lot of help on the floor and at the help desks. But that was fine in this trip. So many floors to explore and they have a section with seating for events! Pretty cool. Support all bookstores and come get your next book from this Barnes and noble if you’re in the area. Right off the subway at 14th St Union Square! Come enjoy the real bookstore feeling.
