I cannot say enough about Aaron Gruber and his staff at Manhattan Alignment. They have been taking care of my 2010 Volvo for many years! And this past week was no exception. My car broke down at JFK and Aaron was with me throughout the process of dealing with the tow truck all the way to the fix, with great care and professionalism. I knew I could rely on him for an honest assessment, quick and competent fix, and he even drove my car back to my local garage afterwards. Aaron is in a word a true "mensch", a precious commodity in NYC and in the world of autoshops!
Manhattan Alignment is a great family run business. They recommend me against an expensive repair to my car and I took their advice and traded it in. Hard to find anyone that decent and honest anywhere these days. I highly recommend them for all of your needs!

This is absolutely the worst place to go for an inspection because they never have time to do it anytime you come here. They basically say that all of the mechanics are busy and I feel like if you were to go there for a great job or something else they would have you wait, but if it's something like an inspection, that's a little money, they're just turning you away.
Also, the owner of the account responded and said I didn’t make an appointment and I probably just drove up which is true but I went there twice. I went there in the morning and they said they were busy and even then no one said hey you have to make an appointment they just said I’m busy sorry and that was it and when I came back that night, I got the same response busy never did anyone even say you have to make an appointment if that was sad I would’ve made one so again clearly it’s about The money because if I wanted a brake job, then they would say oh yeah, we can do that just make an appointment for tomorrow, but since again it’s a little job it’s like OK we don’t want him making an appointment for $37 job and if that’s the case that’s fine. I will respect that more than somebody telling me. Oh it’s because you didn’t make an appointment when I was never even offered to make an appointment or even told where to go to make the appointment or even better if you want that done, you can make an appointment now with me. No one ever said any of that, but I definitely understand. Thanks for responding.
I read lots of great reviews and decided to give a shot as I was disappointed with my former car shop. My first encounter was over with Nathan .. I made an appointment for oil change and came in a few hours later after our conversation. Nathan and his twin brother were very pleasant and processional. They also detected an issue with my car that was quickly fixed.
So far I think I found my people who I can trust ( the biggest thing for me).
Will be back !
Love the Gruber brothers and their talented team. They’re like a trusted doctor - only for cars. They know their trade better than most, are scrupulously honest, straightforward, fair and reasonsbly priced. They’ve done small and large jobs for me on my Mercedes Benz 2008 CLK 350 convertible - always with a smile and always dependable. Highly recommended.
Aaron and Nathan have been servicing my cars since they first opened taking care of my pathfinder, Honda (250,000 miles), and 2 Volkswagon bugs. they have towed, jumped, serviced and have been Johnny on the spot in more circumstances any single working mom could imagine. Aaron and Nathan run a very responsible and efficient shop. The pricing is fair and they are honest as the day is long. I have been going there since 2000 and have referred numerous friends to them, who are just as pleased as I am. As an added plus, they are very nice guys.
Super fast, friendly and efficient service. The guys were flexible and kind, and my car was ready before I was even ready to pick it up. No problem though, they made it easy to pick up and drop off at my convenience. And my old car is now running like it’s brand new!
Not a fan of dealing with my car, so usually when I need service it’s a minor emergency. The service here never disappoints. Frankly I’m probably a little too lax now that I know I have this shop in my corner. (I’m a femme presenting queer with severe adhd, fwtw. Going to an auto body shop is usually a humiliation ritual. Only ever been treated with respect here: 10/10.)
Aaron and Nathan run an efficient, expert, and accomplished shop HONESTLY and with with respect for the customer. They always listen AND always explain. I’ve been lucky enough to have them care for my Subaru for years. Best auto shop in town.
I brought my 2010 Honda in for an inspection and service. I knew there were a few issues, as the car is older, and was impressed with the thorough check-up the car got. Nathan walked me through the issues and possible solutions as well as pricing, which was reasonable, and they had the car ready the next day. I love how smoothly the car is now driving, very happy with the service.
I have a 2015 Volvo XC70 and the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. The dealer estimate was so high I decided to get a second estimate from Manhattan Alignment and Diagnostic. Their estimate was 1/3 of the price of the dealer. They fixed the ac in one day and then stayed open past 6pm by ten minutes allowing me to pick it up. Nice of them to do that. So, I am totally satisfied with my experience here. Fair price, good work, friendly service.

I rarely drive into the city but was in the city one day and my car started to overheat. I came across Manhattan Alignment & Diagnostic Center and was met by Aaron upon my arrival. He was very friendly and quick to help me out in my time of need and panic. He got his guys to look at my car, diagnose my problem and come back to me with my best options going forward. Aaron was such a big help and really eased my panic at the moment. In the past, I have dealt with mechanics who in my opinion would have taken advantage of the situation I was in but not this place. I would return here for all my auto needs and recommend their services to family and friends.

Nathan saved the holidays this year! Just as we were about to leave for the holidays, we noticed the engine service light was flashing. On the advice of a friend, I brought the car to Nathan who quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it in time before they closed for the holiday weekend (This was the day before Christmas Eve). We were able to visit family for the holidays thanks to him. His prices were also very reasonable. Knowledgeable, honest, and there when you need him. What else could you ask for in a mechanic? I wholeheartedly recommend him.
Nathan handled my car's issues from start to finish and was great to work with. I had broken tie rods and a stolen catalytic converter (unrelated). Nathan worked with me and my insurance company to get my claim filled out, and had the car repaired and running perfectly the next day! He gave me a great deal on the labor costs as well and was very understanding of how frustrating it was to have a piece of my car stolen.
Fast and trustworthy, I highly recommend these guys!
5 STAR EXPERIENCE. Top tier service! I get anxiety going to car places because I am a woman but Aaron was very nice. He explained everything thoroughly to me and was patient with my barrage of questions. I was in and out in an hour on Saturday morning for an inspection. This team really has respect for their customers and everyone I came into contact with had a polite and pleasant demeanor. Definitely will be recommending to all of my friends and family!

I had a pleasant experience at Manhattan Alignment and Diagnostic Center. My first time at this establishment. I read online reviews and decided to give them a try since they are located at a convenient location for me. I arrived with no appointment. Although calling and scheduling ahead is encouraged on their website.
One of the store owners received me and asked what services I needed. I explained my car had a slight vibration around 70mph and that I wanted to find out the cause. After examining and test driving my car he suggested the wheels needed re-balancing. I left the car close to midday and it was ready by 2:45pm. Price was reasonable and service was professional. My car is back to running smoothly on the Turnpike highway! I totally recommend this business.
I really appreciated the great service at the Manhattan Alignment & Diagnostic Center. I went there based on the good reviews I read after having a negative experience at another nearby car mechanic center. For my first visit, I went for just an oil change and George took care of me. His professionalism was apparent from the moment I met him. He did a full examination of my car and was very thorough explaining to me some of the other issues and my options. During my second visit, Nathan took care of my car with equal professionalism and friendliness. I really appreciated the great customer service plus it seemed they were genuinely concerned with making sure my car was safe for me to drive! I'd recommend them to anyone in the neighborhood.
This place is as good as it gets. Everyone is always skeptical about mechanic shops taking people for a ride (no pun intended), but these guys are as honest as they come. I have taken my car there now a couple of times and each time they have actually insisted on work that does NOT need to be done and recommendations on how to save money. Aaron, Nathan and George are courteous and respectful. I also like the fact that they called me and updated me on the status of the vehicle and time frame in which it would be ready. Their shop is also very well organized.
