I was lucky enough to find Salvation through a google search for local tattoo shops. I initially started my journey with Ryan for a cover up on my chest. I told him I like wolves and he came up with an amazing landscape design. It was a long process but in the end he made the original tattoo disappear completely. While I was there I was lucky enough to meet everyone involved in Salvation. There's (Ladies first lol) Shannon and Maria, Ryan, Pauly, and Joe. In the beginning I was nervous but they make it very easy to get over your nerves and enjoy your time there. The shop isn't your stereotypical shop with flash cards from floor to ceiling. It has an open atmosphere with many interesting and entertaining conversations going on, with the best music to help the clients relax and feel comfortable. During my time with Ryan, I got to see 2 of his apprentices grow (Maria, and Joe) and the respect and willingness to learn was amazing. Salvation is truly a judge free zone, and even if you're there to see one artist, you are blessed with the wisdom and advice of everyone there. During my time with Ryan, Maria was gracious enough to donate her time and skill in gifting me my first tattoo by her, a reminder of what I've been through, how far I've come, and to where I'm capable to get to. After the chest piece was done I knew I had to get more work done, so onto Maria I went for my music themed sleeve to go with my very first tattoo for the band I worked for (which she gave new life to that as well). Now we started on my other arm, another sleeve being done by Maria this time in color. Everyone here are 100% legit artists who do tattoos. Below is my list of pros and cons. Pros: - Professional artists - Clean environment - Non judgmental - Very respectable pricing - Will get you out of your nervousness/shyness by starting the most craziest conversations that will leave you laughing - Great music - Great atmosphere - Extremely patient - Extremely courteous - (The best pro) Very tight family like group Cons: - You will unfortunately run out of places to get a tattoo I 1kagillion% recommend going to Salvation Tattoo for your tattoo needs. There's a reason people come from all across the country to see them and get ink by them. I haven't had the honor of getting ink by Pauly, Shannon, or Joe yet (there's still time lol) but seeing their work on Instagram is mind blowing!

This Tattoo Shop ?????, We Absolutely loved it. I always wanted a tattoo but couldn’t get up the nerve. Yesterday my cousin and I had tattoos done by Maria and she did such a terrific job. We are both VERY happy with what she did. She's extremely talented and friendly & everyone that works there is SO sweet & kind. Maria literally spent the whole day with us, listened to us and was really patient with us because neither of us really knew exactly what we wanted. The shop is super clean & We definitely recommend Maria & this place to get a tattoo!!!! We cannot wait to go back.

I have been going to Salvation Tattoo for all my tattoos. I have been going there since they opened the doors to their first shop in Oceanside, NY in approx 2008. It is a family affair for us, my wife gets her tattoos there and my son gets his tattoos there. The shop is run by Ryan and his wife Shannon. Their prices are reasonable and the work is always top notch. No matter where I go people stop to ask me about my ink and where I got it. My first tattoo by the owner still looks like it is brand new, and I've never had it touched up. It is the most professional shop I have ever been in and I have been getting tattoos for the last 30 years. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for impeccable artwork and a professional experience. Go see Ryan, Paulie and the gang.

Unbelievable place. Absolutely love it. Everyone on the staff knows what they're doing. Maria did my tattoo and did such a killer job. Very happy with it. She's so talented and everyone always checks on you and is patient if you need a break or something. Definitely recommend this place to get a tattoo.

Great shop! It’s so beautiful inside & all of the artists are very sweet. I have been going to Shannon for 8 years & I have 10 tattoos by her. She is always very honest & checks in with you frequently during your time getting tattooed.

Been going to Salvation for my tattoos for like 6 years now! Paulie is the man, so amazingly talented, can nail any style, from realism to traditional. I trusted him with my first tattoo and he did an incredible job that held up perfectly over time. He also saved me from a bad tattoo I had gotten elsewhere with a beautiful version of what I had originally wanted. Can't recommend enough!

I never go out of my way to write a review however, Salvation Tattoo made my first tattoo experience amazing!! The staff was very nice and my tattoo artist Chris was so understanding if I needed a break. He explained what he was doing and made sure I loved it before he started to tattoo it! The tattoo turned out great and exceeded my expectations!! I will definitely be back again and will be sending everyone who wants a tattoo here because I can't say enough amazing things about them.

Been going to Salvation for years now. Always happy with the work that I get. Shanon always does exactly what I want. Took my friend there for his first tattoo and he loved it. My wife also went there for her first tattoo. The staff is always friendly and professional. I am always getting stopped and complimented on the tattoos that I have. THANKS!!!!

Absolutely one of the best shops out there. Ryan is amazing at what he does. I have a half sleeve done by Ryan and people are always commenting about how great it looks. It's over 5 years old and they ask if I just got it done. I recommend Salvation all the time. By the work on their website, the other artists are awesome. Get yourself there. You won't be sorry. Don

I've been to a lot of tattoo shops in my day and Salvation is by far the best. Super cool, laid back, right by the beach. They have amazing decor & art with an even better crew to match. Love you guys! Can't wait to come back for some more incredible work.

Can't say enough good things about this shop!! I've been getting tattooed by Ryan for the last 7 years and he does amazing artwork. Every person I've encountered in the shop is friendly and outgoing, always make sure you feel comfortable, and really know their stuff.

Salvation South is the best!! Every artist there is so talented and everyone is so nice and friendly. If you want a quality tattoo by the best, Salvation is the place to go. The artwork speaks for itself but everyone that works at salvation is so chill. It’s good vibes and good artwork. Ryan is an outstanding and generous artist. While he helps frame your thoughts into a piece, he is mindful that it is just that, your piece. As such, he collaborates with you to understand what you are trying to express so that he gets it just right. Afterall, for a brief time, you are his muse and his canvas...it cannot (nor should it) be any other way. That said, your session(s) are full of precision expertise coupled with kindness and fluidity. His work is a labor of love poured out onto your body that ultimately reflects the relationship he has built with you. If you are fortunate enough to sit with him in his shop, you'll feel his warmth and genuineness. But that is his point...to make you feel at home and comfortable and that you are welcome. He is a gracious and authentic host...and Salvation South Tattoo reflects everything Ryan hoped it would.

I went to Salvation South Tattoo for the first time about a year ago. I went specifically because of Jolie Matthews, after discovering her on Instagram and loving her work. The shop atmosphere is amazing and everyone is very professional. The prices are super reasonable for such high quality tattoos from such amazing artist. The tattoo I had done from Salvation South Tattoo is my favorite to this day! Would only go to them for any future work!

I was looking to get my first tattoo and had trouble finding someone who specialized in space themes/bright colors (especially purple). Luckily, I found Ryan who does AMAZING work and could do exactly what I was looking for. Almost 2 years later and i still go to him to add onto my first piece. Colors are as vibrant as they were when I first got it done. He's also kind enough to entertain me with a movie during our sessions. Our next one is in 2 weeks and I cant wait!

I have been using Ryan from way back when he was working out of Salvation in Oceanside. I’ve been tattooed three additional times down at Salvation SOUTH. Ryan is passionate and it shows in his work. Years later I am still complimented on the vibrant colors on my pieces. I highly recommend Ryan and Salvation South. I also had my nose pierced down at Salvation south and the professionalism and careful technique and the cleanliness was excellent!

Ryan and crew are amazing artist and down to earth awesome people! You can walk into the store and feel the creative vibes! Everyone there is incredibly professional and all the equipment is top of the line. I have sent multiple friends to Salvation for work and will continue to do so!

Got both tattoos I have at salvation south tattoo. Very pleased. Everyone is nice and reliable, the pricing is fair as well. They have a long wait depending who you want tatting you, but it is all very worth the wait. Anyone that is hired here is to be trusted fully, they are all fully trained, and know exactly what they are doing! Love the shop. Everytime I'm around town I always come in and say hey. :)

Went in on a recommendation to see Paulie. Showed him what I was thinking and he ran with it. Absolutely love it. He was so patient, being my last tat was 20 years ago. Explained the process and helped ease my nerves. Even recommended a friend go and she loved him as well. Definitely planning my next one and Paulie will be my first call!! The place itself is very clean and the rest of the staff is super chill.

I started going to Salvation about 8 years ago after seeing amazing artwork and tattoos from my friend. All my tattoos have been awesome staff is super friendly and fun makes the time go by when they make you feel like family. I always recommend Salvation to everyone I know. Nothing but quality!

I got my first tattoo of my dog’s paw print with his name by Rebecca. He passed away October 29, 2017 ?. Rebecca was great. She is sweet and friendly and a professional. I love my tattoo and it was a great experience. Everyone there is really nice and friendly. It’s a clean place. I plan on getting another tattoo to represent my brother who passed away.
