Excellent Customer Service! The manager is friendly and very professional. The supermarket is spacious, very neat, clean, and has a variety of food brands.
Easy to find parking lines aren’t that long but watch out for the milk and certain meats because my milk wasn’t expired and it was no good the next day after I opened it and some of the meats aren’t red some are brown so I think they might have issues with the freezers because the milk wasn’t expired and was sour and it was for my baby she threw it up I went back and I told them and they said their fridge was down so just make sure ya meats and milk is good other than that they always have sales but the meats are pricey
Smells bad, rotten meat, poor quality of fresh produce, and long lines. With that being said they have a great selection of seasonings & spices. There's lots of opportunity for improvement.
expired products, expensive, mediocre quality. i just go to get things i can’t get from trader joe’s or if i need something quick like coffee/milk/tomatoes.
cheapest place in town for now and employees are very nice. They stock some good stuff for the Gentrifiers of the area. Until the other big supermarket opens this is your most affordable option in town and they have really awesome shopping bags.
Prices and quality aren't the best, but it's the only option for a few blocks. As new buildings are finished, I'm sure better options will be introduced in the neighborhood
Prices are high. And the always try to get you to spend $40 to get the sale items. That's a NoGo for r me. And there website is down and they haven't fixed it yet.
Silly me, I never check the dates on items purchasing and I always get caught with items that are expired or expireing within a few days.
I give them 2 stars because they always have what I want!

Day we did Western beef supermarket on Empire Boulevard So immaculate. It was a pleasure to walk through the aisles. I will start visiting more often now. Thank you
Honestly only stop here if I absolutely need to. BE CAREFUL at least 80% of the time I come here they overcharge especially on produce!! And when you approach them about the mistake they act like you’re the problem, the customer service is horrendous. The store smells like rotten meat.
If I can give this supermarket, would you call Western beef a zero star I would they sell old meats and cold cuts every day for the past three months I’ve been buying meats and cold cuts from them unless you get it fresh from the deli don’t bother getting the pre-slice and the chicken and meat always are old because they have a funny smell to them. Don’t waste your time going to Western beef.
My mother who is 88 was one who loved this store…recently raved about how nice the remodel is. She usually has a great experience in this store…30+ years shopping there. But, that all changed today when she got her Chase statement that showed an UBER Eats purchase immediately following her grocery purchase at this store. We have just reported the fraudulent charge to Chase and are attempting to call the store to report this. All attempts to contact store have been unsuccessful the phone just rings and I know at 645 pm the store is still open. Not only will I make the trip from New Jersey tomorrow to speak to a manager and to file a complaint with NYPD. My mother states she is able to identify the cashier who checked her out but fears returning to the store could result in repercussions; jeopardize her safety.. My hope is someone will see this comment and immediately complete a thorough assessment of their staff and their registers. To the customers who use this market…beware. To the associate who participated in this scam you should be ashamed of yourself.
I love going here it has everything I need to feed my family and enjoy my carribbean foods. Good sales and friendly cashiers. Ok this is an update today is 3/15/22 so I needed some items to make candied Yams and I was shock they did a complete turn around the vegetables that was in the back area are now up front it looks so spacious I really like it now I did not go to the back area but will check it out more over the weekend.
The Grocery store is relatively clean. The prices are pretty expensive. I've noticed that they post sales but it's the regular price of the item , it isn't a sale. I use to frequent this Western beef more ofter simply because they sale flowers that were reasonably priced. The Roses were 9.99 then 10.99 now 11.99 a dozen. The regular flowers were 3.99 now the are 4.99. Over all I know everything has gone up in price but you rarely get a bargain her. It's like a giant convenience store. If you don't mind spending more then it's a decent grocery store.
I love this store. It's well stocked and has everything you need and more. Although the man in the meat section was very nasty and rude, I will just never asks for his help again but they have a great looking meat section. The produce section is amazing.
RUDE STAFF- specifically that skinny Jamaican manager with braids. He’s the worst. He speak to some of the employees there like they’re his child.
NOT CLEAN - on 6.11 was the 2nd time I’ve gotten sick by food prepared by hand. I bought fruit salads yesterday. After eating a bowl of watermelon I became terribly ill. The same thing for those pasta and meat plates they sell. At first when I started buying them it was good then they got sloppy. You can smell the rawness around the plastic and I’ve also gotten I’ll. They’re either not washing their hands or the area where they prepare the food, is not clean.
It’s very convenient and I love shopping there but there needs to be provisions put in place. The owners or managers need to make sure that things that are being handled is done with cleanliness.
The renovation looks good. But not the best place if your looking for great sales. If they do have good sales they cud do better with the signage in the aisles. The checkout is still slowwww!!! They should have put 2 self checkout out lanes for fast checkout! People don't have time to wait behind slow customers. And people with nowhere to be.
Very large store. They have a huge selection of items and incredible deals! There is also a parking lot which makes shopping at Western Beef very convenient.
Western Beef has cheap prices and a decent enough quality selection. However, the lines are long and the register staff is lackadaisical. While there are twelve lanes, it is rare for more than 3 or 4 to be open. That can be frustrating as you watch the manager wander about aimlessly, chatting up staff that can be working the register but are engaged in socializing. The aisles are usually packed with items that need to be put away. It takes a certain amount of skill to maneuver through the aisles.
The walk-in freezer is usually well-stacked with brand name items. Depending on the day, you will be able to find many items on sale for pleasantly surprising low cost. This store can be a bargain-hunter's treasure hunt.
If you want to benefit from the good prices, you have to be willing to dedicate the time. If you want to minimize the hassle, you can take advantage of the early morning hours (they open at 7am) or stop by later (they close at 9pm). The store is more manageable then. You won't have to face a scrum of people, carts and boxes that need to be put away.
