The Lot Radio: Brooklyn's Best Vibe The Lot Radio is more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a truly unique New York institution built on raw industrial charm and great music. Situated on a triangular wedge of asphalt in Greenpoint, this outdoor bar perfectly embodies Brooklyn's effortlessly cool aesthetic and provides an exceptional setting for chilling out. The design itself is highly distinctive, with the entire operation—from the efficient bar to the snack counter—housed inside converted shipping containers. This utilitarian, sleek look sets a refreshingly casual tone. The real star, however, is the expansive outdoor space and its centerpiece: the live DJ booth, which broadcasts eclectic, high-quality music sets throughout the day. This setup ensures the atmosphere is consistently vibrant but relaxed. It feels less like a traditional bar and more like an impromptu, low-key block party, drawing a friendly and diverse crowd. Whether you’re settling in for a couple of hours with a cold beer or stopping by for a quick coffee while enjoying the top-tier sounds, The Lot Radio delivers a memorable, welcoming experience. It is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates unique venue design and a killer soundtrack. Outdoor port a potties available as well

Always great to drop in for a couple of afternoon beers and listen to some music. It's a small space but has tables outside too. Drinks are very reasonably priced and the line moves quickly. It's so great to see internationally acclaimed artists play at the lot. The YouTube channel & app are on constantly in our house.

Finally made it, always wanted to visit here! And came to friend’s birthday. Super chill and super layback ! It’s like a house party at your own backyard. Lovely vibes and great music!

It felt like a little pocket of France in Brooklyn, almost transported in the 10th arrondissement of Paris for an evening. Great spot (just don’t go to the bathroom and you’ll love it).

The Lot Radio is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn for live music and DJ culture. I was first invited out through my street photography work, and it lined up with an HD and Friends residency set featuring DJ Janesita (Instagram: @_lajanesita) back in August ‘23. I’ve been a few times since. Usually reserved for Chicagoland’s Radio Muévelo Sunday programming, Janesita brought her fun blend of Latin house and juke to Brooklyn for a special set. It was her first time recording a blend like that live. I got to experience the place from the inside out, thanks to the chance to shoot inside the booth during her set. Afterward, we hung out at the picnic tables with HD, Janesita, a few fans, and new friends. It was a warm summer day, and the energy around the station felt real and easy as the sun was setting. The Lot Radio is always worth checking out. Whether for work or just hanging out, I’d love to come back and bring friends next time. Big thanks again to Janesita and the crew for a great day.

GET LOT RADIO…on REAL RADIO? Radio broadcasting is pioneering and more powerful than the internet. There’s a case to be made there, historically and technically, though it’s a bit of a David-and-Goliath comparison today. Radio’s roots are wild—Marconi’s first transatlantic signal in 1901 kicked off a revolution. By the 1920s, it was the first mass medium, beaming voices and music into homes without wires or subscriptions. That’s raw power: a single transmitter could hit millions, no infrastructure needed on the listener’s end beyond a cheap receiver. It’s analog simplicity—electromagnetic waves carrying amplitude (AM) or frequency (FM) modulation, cutting through distance with minimal latency. During its peak, a station like WLW in Cincinnati ran 500,000 watts in the 1930s, blanketing half the U.S. Even today, a 50,000-watt FM tower can reach 50-100 miles, no data caps or ISPs required. Compare that to the internet: it’s a behemoth, but it’s fragile. Servers, routers, fiber optics, and power grids—any link fails, and your stream’s dead. Radio? One transmitter, one power source, and you’re live. Disasters prove it—when hurricanes knock out cell towers and broadband, AM/FM stays on, battery-powered receivers humming. It’s why emergency services still lean on it. And the tech’s got a primal edge: no buffering, no compression artifacts—just a direct signal, pure and immediate. Radio’s reach is physical—limited by frequency, terrain, and FCC rules (or equivalents globally). The internet’s reach is abstract—global, instant, but clogged with gatekeepers (tech giants, ISPs) and bandwidth chokeholds. Radio’s one-to-many broadcast model crushes for scale within its radius; the internet’s many-to-many wins for flexibility and interactivity. A single tweet can ripple faster than a radio wave ever could, but it’s tethered to a complex, breakable web. Pioneering? Absolutely—radio invented real-time mass comms. More powerful? In raw resilience and simplicity, maybe. In scope and scale today, the internet’s a juggernaut. BUT If you want cultural impact with tech purity, radio’s got a gritty charm the internet can’t touch. Cut a deal with a local radio station? And LOT RADIO will be massive.

The kiosk/bar area is not open as of Mid March '25. Seems like they may be in permit hell with the city regarding the bar here. You can still come listen to music on the benches outside tho!

Favourite little spot. Such a gem of a place, low-key looks like an abandoned junkyard at quick glance. Which I sort of like because it pulls in an unpretentious (and nice) crowd. Great music and super laidback

my favourite hangout spot in new york, djs are always amazing, staff is pretty nice, they let you hang around for as long as you want ! not sure why people are calling it a creepy place - I find it lovely and the vibes are great, super safe and fun to be at ! one comment though, I wish their drink selection was a little more expanded....like cocktails would be a super great addition, or just a little more variety in drinks, I feel like the wine is a little bit always the same

Well, it is a known fact that they're serving [extremely over price] fake alcohol, so if you care about your health, DO NOT drink there! Even worse than that, the vibe there is so creepy. The people who run this place created a rabbit hole of negative energy and bad vibes. I literally felt like this place drained my energy :( However, from time to time, they manage to get a good musician, and to be honest, my heart goes out for these poor DJs for being dragged into this $h!th0le.. (excuse my language). The bottom line is, do yourself a huge favor and stay as far as you can from this place!

It's a rough hang in the colder months, but damn that music sure warms you up! The Lot deserves major props for their chill vision and hard work. Keep on keepin' that DJ lineup fierce!

This place is the best. The music was phenomenal, wine was lovely, and just a unique space to hang out in. Hope to come back once it gets a little warmer!

Lot radio is a great space with good vibes. I wish they had better beers, and lately the music has been too quiet to hear over the people talking but it’s still a lovely place to hang out.

LOVE this spot for a late afternoon relaxing drink. Chill vibe. The Funky Nassau is an incredibly refreshing drink.

Nice communal open area with picnic tables. However, if you are going for the DJ, don't get your hopes up; the DJ is totally secluded in a trailer, and they pipe the music outside WAY to quiet. Also, they didn't refrigerate the beers

Super chill vibe! Makes up for the limited beer options and potter potties.

Sweet concept. It’s great being outside while listening to a live broadcast of the radio. 4th of July was pretty crazy, not how it normally is, still fun!

Nice outside bar. They have indoor seating too. The bar has a DJ playing tunes all night. They need more heating lamps outside because there is only 1 table outside with heating lamps.

Great music! Beer! Wine! Coffee! Tables outside on the weirdest tinniest triangle block in greenpoint! Super!

Only in Brooklyn. Hidden gem, great tunes and coffee, and a bus to stay warm!
