-superb low prices such as three dollars for a large container of brand name Friendly's ice cream look at my picture! This is February 2025 even after all the inflation the store really tries to give you amazing discounts
-the customer service here is hit or miss. sometimes the people are very nasty,sometimes they're OK, definitely never amazing, so try not to interact with the employees here and you will have an OK time
-store hours could be better
-fresh rotisserie chicken is available every day at around noon for $7.50
No shopping carts nor baskets available at store entrance. Guard/attendant at store entrance just shrugs when asked where onee can be found. Meanwhile there are Carta abandoned on Atlantic Avenue as far as Party City which someone in the store should be in charge of retrieving. Since cab drivers have been restricted from assembling in front of the store, customers needing taxi assistance are forced to steal the carts to get their purchased items to Atlantic Ave where they can get assistance with getting their shopping home. Afterall, not everyone can afford these exorbitant delivery prices. The produce section looked like a looting had recently transpired and made the offerings unappealing. That's as far as I got because I lost any desire to purchase anything by then.
The main point to go there is prices and nice discounts, floors and store itself is clean, free of useless marketing like tons of organic and such useless stuff (unlike Trader Joe's), there is organic choice if you really think it matters. Things like paper (such as toilet paper) isn't really cheap, also Sodas in 8/12 packs are more expensive in [Key Food] for example, but 2Liter sodas are really cheap if you get in bulk. There is DELI and Bakery sections if you want to eat something. Sections are labeled in very understanding and easy way. There is free water dispenser as well for those who needs to use them. The only problem is staff, when you ask something they don't really care answering you correctly, they say random stuff always, when that changes my review changes to 5 Star.
Might be the biggest grocery I have ever been in. Mammoth selection. Self checkout was extra busy while human checkout was near empty???? Our cashier helped us navigate the specials and saved us a LOT of money. We came from the UES to get some of the specials. Well worth the Q train ride. First visit but will not be the last.
This location never has carts or baskets. You may have to wait for someone to finish shopping to take their cart. The aisles are big and organised, but i still couldn't find almond flour. With the grocery being big, i expected them to have a larger variety of items. The sales are good. You don't need a store card to get the sales.

Next up is Stop & Shop, and a whole tissi ran $7.49. I had a celebrity guest for this one, Dave from OldJewishMen. He is the guy who infamously put Costco's chicken bar code on a shirt and had them scan that, as he didn’t want the LED lights on his chicken. Gotta love Dave.
It ended up landing at 6.8/10, which currently ranks it tied for 30th out of 40 grocery store birds I’ve currently tried.

The bathroom at this Stop and Shop is the dirtiest bathroom I've ever been in. Everyone who came out of the bathroom while I was waiting in line was commenting in shock on how dirty it was. One of the two toilets was clogged and filled to the brim with poop. There was no toilet paper in either stall. There was toilet water all over the floor. The seat cover dispensers in both stalls were empty. The changing table was no longer on the wall (I could see where the holes were where it had once been). There were brown stains all over the walls and floor. It smelled like someone had been chain smoking in there for 10 years, and on top of that, it smelled like pee as well.
Why are your employees so rude and miserable to customers, even when you are being friendly, as a customer because that’s just your personality as a human? Went to the fried chicken bar at this location and the young lady in the photo was so rude and aggressive, like she didn’t want to be there.
You’r deli counter person was nasty this morning at the Atlantic Avenue Store. She was insistent on saying it wasn’t time to work but another employee said that it was past 8 am . Then as she finished my orders , she threw them down on the counter. The cashier was especially nasty with an elderly customer as well. Do you train them on common courtesy? Maybe don’t schedule them so early in the morning so that they don’t take their bad evenings out on early morning customers.
Store has nice wide aisles and is well upkept but double check every product you plan to buy before checking out. Food and product tampering is an issue at this location. This Stop & Shop gets heavy foot traffic from high school kids, commuters, mall shoppers, and barclays center audience across the street. I've seen many FOOD products opened and taped back together. Check everything you plan to buy BEFORE going to pay.
I’m appalled to see Stop & Shop hasn’t honored its commitment to cage-free eggs. As someone who stands firmly against animal cruelty, I’m beyond disappointed in the lack of follow-through from their leadership. There is nothing appetizing about eggs that were born of animal suffering. I am out the door and onto a more humane supermarket!
The hot food area has horrific customer. The service is severely slow. They spend too much time joking with each other. They have an attitude like you forced them to work there.
Crazy busy and the employees clearly hate their jobs. Self checkout is a joke. Employees like to stand around and not do anything just to get irritated when a customer needs help.
I'm shocked to see Stop & Shop hasn't followed through on its cage-free egg commitment. I do NOT support animal cruelty and am so disappointed in Stop & Shop leadership.
Phone service sucks, you call the line is open you can actually hear the employees and they do not take the call, then they hang up. What kind of customer service do you provide. Why are they getting paid is it also to answer the phone.
I recently fell in love with Stop n Shop as they have awesome Fresh produce is MY FAVORITEPart. But also a variety of foods, Spanish, oriental etc And Deli service is friendly. A must tryeven if you are loyal to your market. Give Stop n Shop a try, You'll like it.

Love me some stop and shop supermarket, prices are decent and, produce are fresher than the supermarket by my house, and have a lot more options, would definitely come back again!
Horrible customer service at the Western Union. The guy had me on the phone for a very long time. I hang up and called back about 8 times and he did the same thing. He told me he will transfer me to the manager but never did. Only a horrible horrible person would do that.
It was a nice and smooth day for food shopping, it felt like I was in and out. I was able to stick and move. I pulled out my list, gathered my groceries, slid on over to the self check out line, was assisted with coupons and deals and made my way home. I successfully found everything I needed along with some help from the staff in the store. Fresh vegetables, seasonings, meats and more. Thank you Stop & Shop for helping me nourish and fuel my body with flavorful and fresh ingredients.
I was at Stop and Shop this morning and the Coin Srar machine stopped working. The people who fix is don't start to 8. Ms. Doreen was a pleasure she helped me even though she doesn't work for coin star. God bless you. I thank you very much for assisting me.
It has the things I need 90 percent of the time. Stop & Shop no longer opens at 6:30AM it now opens at 7:00AM. Yes it has changed they have changed all of the aisles and most of the produce is not where it use to be.

This stop and shop is one of the worst I’ve ever been to. They never have a good meat and poultry selection, and I’ve seen GREAT meat departments at stop and shops around the city. And with the price of everything today we need as good a variety as S&S claims to offer. It really doesn’t matter what time of day or even what day of the week you show up, they just never have enough. Stop and shop in Coney Island is wayyyyy better. I’m going to start cataloging all the pictures I take on my visits so the public can see that it’s not even a joke. This place seems big on the outside but when you go inside it looks like a supermarket for single people who barely eat .
Horrible customer service. In the non-check out line the employee who was doing my checkout didn’t even offer to bag my groceries. The brown bags don’t have handles to grip bags.
I don't know what's going on in this supermarket. Are they about to renovate or are they about to close? There are barely any cashiers, and the self-checkout line is extremely long.
UPDATE: The shopping carts lock on you inside of the store. I'm really not happy that you can't even use the shopping carts. If you can't find someone to unlock the carts, you just have to abandon it and walk with your grocery in hand if you don't feel like going all the way back to the front of the store to pick up a smaller hand cart, if available. Walk ten feet and the shopping carts lock. You have to see it to believe it. If only they would unlock those shopping carts. the shopping experience might be worthwhile. Still Not acceptable.
Customer service desk is a joke. They refuse to honor sale prices. Don't want to met with the same nastiness again when there's an error in my purchase total. Not coming back here.
After a handful of visits after work, I have officially confirmed that I will not be shopping here again.
1. No carts / baskets (Always have to wait until someone is done but there are also other customers waiting. Whenever I have asked another shopper to use the cart/basket after they're done checking out, I'm either met with an attitude or they blatantly ignore me)
2. To my second point, many people that shop here are miserable. They are so rude! I have witnessed so many unnecessary bickering and yelling.
3. Lines are too long because there are not enough cashiers, especially during rush hour.
It is unfortunate because it is right off the train station and very convenient but the reasons listed above is just not worth it.
