Five star for office ladies . Pulled in with a u-haul trailer we rented and was not able to lift it off the ball. Worker went got a tool and was easy to use and fast . Great place!!
The only beef I have with the oil change that I got done was that I got the wrong receipt. I got a receipt that for my wife's car and not mine. Hopefully I got full synthetic oil like I asked.
Other than that I was in and out of there in a half an hour ...pretty good
Update to owner 10/22/2025…it was made very plainly that you did not read my whole review because had you, you would have read that we purchased the vehicle in August of 2025 almost a full month after the inspection was done on July 17,2025. The way you speak to customers after the services that were provided and were found to be illegally done by one of your technicians speaks volumes on the professionalism that you apply to the public. My husband and the business that we went through was a victim of the fact that a technician in your shop completely allowed a truck to pass inspection where it was not even legally able to do so. So if you want to address issues with customers that have situations like this that arise from your business professionalism by the owner of that business gets called into question. I cannot provide maintenance on a vehicle that we purchased a month after the inspection was provided when it should not have passed to begin with. You may want to address policy and the legality issues that can arise with your technicians and the tone in which you use when addressing the public when they are the victims from the services that your technicians provided! These are not false claims the paperwork is literally in the photos and we had to return that truck we purchased after your technician gave it a passing of safety and that passing inspection was found to be false. This situation was in no way a fault of our own and how you presented your response was very unprofessional and the situation apparently not investigated before providing a response.
This shop should never be allowed to provide legal inspections! My husband and I purchased a truck from a local business in Lakewood in August 2025. We did not have the truck a month, not 24 hours before we noticed the windshield leaked to the point their was rust inside where it was leaking, the door locks didn’t lock or unlock unless you use the key fab, not even a week before we realized that there was a nest of zip ties attaching our shifting cable to the transmission in which one morning when I went to go out and operate my truck, the Shifter did not work, it FREE flowed. The business that we bought the truck from did fix that issue and has since issued us a full refund on the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab that we purchased. I had taken it to my mechanic to get it looked at because I did not trust it. What we were told was shocking, TA auto had offered a passing inspection on a truck that had a crack from the front axle to the back corner panel. It also had a tire that was so worn on the inside that the Threading was about to burst and the wires were coming out and poked my finger and I bled from that situation. Now since TA auto offered a passing inspection and after my mechanic looked it over and literally explained to us that it wasn’t even safe for us to drive it back to the company Which we purchased from, which was less than 10 miles away due to the passenger front wheel bearing being too dangerous as it was about to fall out. So if you take your vehicle to this shop, do not linger there any longer. They’re offering passing inspections on vehicles that can cause great bodily injury if not worse. I believe the public in and around Jamestown New York have to be aware of this because if they are getting their vehicles inspected there, then they have to be aware of the fact that they may not be passing legal inspections and your vehicle may have some issues that need to be addressed that you are not being informed of for obvious reasons! I have provided pictures these were taken during the duration of less than the month we actuality drove the vehicle. I pray no one else will be put in the same position we were. To think of the dangers that could have arisen? My husband and I were completely blindsided! This is so troubling and dishonest! If it happened to me I guarantee, I am sure I am not the only victim of this horrible injustice! So now everyone that has ever gone to TA auto has to ask themselves “was my vehicle legally inspected?”
Maybe if you’re gonna drive like a jerk and mess with people in traffic for literally no good reason other than that laugh about it Then don’t have a giant TA auto logo on the back window of your pickup. Not the kind of people I wanna do business with.
TA Auto is the only shop around that charges fair pricing for an oil change. In all my other vehicles I have previously owned and now currently own, an oil change was almost 100.00 dollars at another local shop I would take my vehicles too. TA Auto got me in immediately, changed my oil and did my inspection on my vehicle and I was charged 65.00 dollars for the service end total. I was super thankful. They also have done work on my previous vehicle to which the pricing was a little high, but they ended up repairing other issues and charging me nothing for the extra work that was done as well as fixing every single thing that was wrong in my previous vehicle so the pricing was extremely fair. I’d recommend TA Auto for oil changes AND inspections & service any day.
My wife and I are very great-full for the recommendation to TaAuto Repair shop for our truck repairs and u-haul rental. We rented a truck while our vehicle was being worked on. Truck was repaired very fast and the ladies in office were very helpful. Will be back again Thank you again
I booked a service with this company. They called me. I returned the phone call and they had no idea why they called me and couldn't find any services I booked. I would NOT recommend them.
My husband took a vehicle here and was quoted that repairs would be $164. He checked the quote when he made the appointment and again when he dropped it off. When he picked it up, the bill was 700! No call to say it would be more, no warning! Shady, shady place. No integrity, terrible customer service. Do not do business here! After talking to other people, they all had similar experiences!
Edit to respond to your reply- he did check other places, and that is why he checked on your quote twice. Do you often give very low quotes just to get the business and then charge 3-4 times as much without a call because others told me this happened to them too? If you give a quote you should honor it or at least call the customer to let them know it will be more before completing the work. That is good customer service. An oil change does not make up for a charge 500.00 over the quote.
TA Auto arranged truck and movers for me. Movers were on time, respectful of our belongings and everything went smooth. We were able to hit the road with no worries. Thank you Tim for the great service and Jake for checking our oil in our car before we departed .
An excellent auto repair shop and great place to rent a UHaul. They fixed up my old vehicle by adding a hitch and straightening out the wiring so I could hook on a trailer. Fast, friendly service. And the same is true of my experience renting a trailer from them some time later.
There aren't better things I can say about Tim and TA Auto!! I moved back home 4 years ago and went through so many local mechanics that treated me like I had no idea what I was talking about bc I'm a 'girl'. The repairs were mediocre and always came right back after being charged an arm and a leg. Then I found TA Auto and honestly I'll NEVER go anywhere else!!
Tim (Owner) always accomodates me right into his schedule, does the best repairs and has such compassion for his clients and their vehicles. He fixes the problems the first time and does the best he can to keep costs low in these crazy times. If you haven't tried them, DO IT!! THANKS TIM!! Customer for life!!
My friend and I were on the way to Cleveland for a concert and my car had fallen apart a little while we were on the thruway so we had stopped in quick to see if they could fix it and the man at the shop was extremely sweet and fixed the bolts for me quickly and ensured me that it wasn’t a big deal. We would’ve never made it without his help so thank you so much!! If I lived closer, I would 100% use this shop! Thank you for being such a kind person!
I was quoted $3000 for an engine swap ended up paying a little over $3500 never got a phone call about the O2 sensor that supposedly needed replaced. I had those replaced by Levant Motors not long ago so should have been under warranty. Something like that should definitely warrant a phone call at least. And maybe let people know over the phone about the 3.5% card ser charge before they come to pay their bill.
it took some time as he is extremely busy but once it was in the shop it was done in a few days. The truck is running perfectly after a lifter repair that involves removing the heads to service. they took care of all the paperwork for the extended warranty company as well.
I just want to say thank you to T&A they helped me diagnose a problem I had with my car. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. Great customer service!!! I will be returning to this shop for any future issues with my vehicles.
Rented a Uhaul on a Saturday at 10:00am for the day. Brought it back before close at 2:00 and was checked in. Got an extra charge on my card so I went in person and talked to lady about what the extra charge could be. I was told that it was a late drop off. I told her no it wasn’t I had someone check it in before close. The lady that checked it on that Saturday was not there and I was told she would get back to me confirming that. Since then no response over three weeks later. Would not recommend, not trustworthy…
I won’t take my vehicles anywhere else. Tim and the crew at TA are like no other shop. Their service is top of the line and their customer service goes above all others. They are so friendly and have the most fair pricing. You never have to worry about getting screwed by your mechanic because they are super honest and straight forward. Make sure to stop and see these guys ! Hard to find tire sizes in under an week and they shine your old dirty wheels ! First class service despite the vehicle age. The ladies up front are super helpful and easy to deal with. Great overall experience time and time again ... and it smell with all the candles in the office!!
Actually charged less for uhaul rental after returning by changing to day rate instead of time and mileage. Never tried to upsell or try to sell extras. They also fixed my mothers van for half the cost I expected. I will definitely be back. Thanks
A good, honest mechanic is hard to find. Glad that I found Tim at TA Auto & Repair Shop. Everyone that you come into contact with there - from Tracy in the office, to the guys on the shop floor, to Tim the owner, are all friendly and very helpful. Had my car fixed and ready to go before I even knew it! Will definitely be back when I'm in need of a knowledgeable mechanic.
