Teach your people to do better. They should not be smoking 5 feet from an entrance. Read up on NYS regulations!

Great staff, very helpful and entertaining. This is a popular location with a large selection. It's both Easy to donate and shop around. They accept furniture clothing linens decorations etc.

I’ve gone there many times and found pricing, for the most part, to be quite reasonable and if there is anything I don’t think is priced accordingly,, IMO, I just don’t buy it. It’s that simple.

Definitely a disappointing visit. There were multiple destroyed items in the women’s section including Levi’s with ripped inner thighs they are selling for 7 dollars! I also saw an arm chair that was missing its arm… Overall the brands and clothes they have weren’t very nice. I wonder if they just aren’t getting nicer items or if they like goodwill are taking the nicer items to sell online. The store is also kind of dirty it’s clear the trash out front has not been taken out in a while and there was trash in the parking lot. It looks nice for the outside but I would skip this location.

Super friendly staff and I always find great deals on clothes, especially on Senior Day but they discontinued it. Is that coming back?

The outside looks nicer than the inside, there's plenty of clothing here but in various stages of wear. Inside feels like a warehouse with little natural light, it's mostly clothing inside too with a very small section in the corner for household items and a small shoe section

So many destroyed garments in the women’s section. I spent about 15 minutes browsing and found numerous items which looked like they’d been attacked with a box cutter. There was no indication that these items were marked down, and they were mixed in with the general merchandise. Very poor quality control.

Love a good thrift store! Great finds, prices range and discounts every day on certain color tags, large store, parking is plentiful, good sized furniture area, many items NWT, lots of Zara clothing. I’ve also donated a lot here… that system could use some tweaks because I’ve been sent away on some days when they’re only accepting certain items… and there’s no real way to know that until you load up your car and get there, and get turned away lol. Donation area staff are not really ever in a hood mood but I just smile and bless them and head on my way! ?

First and last time going there. Have to hunt for things and everything are all mixed together. Very unorganized store.

Went to donate some old clothes and the worker prompted me to put my entire plastic tote of clothing up into the metal cage bin, did not offer assistance lifting it despite seeing I was having trouble picking it up, and when I told him I would need the tote back, he rudely expressed to me that I needed bags and he had none, and was unwilling to compromise whatsoever. Good to see that donating clothing requires you to use unnecessary plastic. Maybe a little bit of manners will go a long way.

Large selection clean and fast to get in and out of. I posted the previous 7 years ago and although they are true today the prices are sometimes very high for used items. I have seen items priced higher than the clearance price at the original retailer.

This place has gone so far downhill in the last couple of years, I don't know why I still stop in. Nothing is where it should be, everything is thrown together. Whoever is putting clothing away clearly doesn't know the difference between boys clothes and girls clothes. And there are lots of women's clothes in with girls. It's hard and frustrating to find anything. Maybe they should consider closing for a few days to sort the store out.

Our vehicle has remote start. It was hot out. And we had our 2 pups with us. For some reason they had to keep announcing it was running. Have they never heard of remote start? We also parked to the side of the building where there is drop offs. Only reason so my dogs wouldn't be barking at everyone coming and going. They are typically good about it. But you know...the mood may strike them LOL. But anyway...the employees kept announcing it. I got so fed up I told my friend I would just go wait in the car. Let her finish shopping. I was a little off put about the whole "what the heck is the point " situation. I would never go back to that store again. My friend wasn't impressed either. The selection and prices weren't impressive either.

I heard a lot of good words about them, but I will every time I go inside to look for something never find out what I’m looking for but I know something. They have the best employees respect and helpful most of them. Great work keep this worker happy

I have been a patron of Salvation Army and Goodwill locations across upstate New York for more than 20 years. This location has the most incredibly rude employees in the donation center that I have ever experienced. Go to any location other than this one to have a positive experience.

I frequent this location a lot! I enjoy the large selection but it can get a little silly with the prices and what is put out. I have seen purses put out for 20 bucks and more and dresses for almost 40! (Not counting Zara). It is a little ridiculous to be putting such high prices for a thrift store, especially when your donations are free. I understand there is a profit to be made but majority of people going to the thrift store don’t have the privilege of spending so much money. The way prices are decided have definitely been an issue in the recent years. I believe items should be better judged as many damaged, dry rotted, stained items get put out on the floor. I really hope to see this location improve and be more accessible to those who are trying to save money.

Prices have gone up a lot... $20 for a used sun dress is a lot for a used, free, donated dress. The biggest issue is the bathroom is always atrocious here. This time there were empty toilet paper rolls everywhere and the toilet was overflowing with feces... Couldn't even use it. Left without buying anything because I had to pee.

UPDATE: I visited the Latham Salvation Army Thrift Store recently (3/2024) with various donations. I was greeted by a lovely woman who informed me that drop off rules have changed. They will accept donations until the temporary holding bins are full. That makes far more sense and I thank them for modifying their policy to accommodate folks wanting to contribute. _________________________________________________ On three occasions I have tried to donate kitchenware items. The gentleman at the donation entrance states his manager wants nothing but clothing after 11 am. I’ll make sure to alter my donation attempts to fit THAT schedule. I won’t be wasting my time going there again.

UPDATE: all of the nice staff are gone. There is one cashier who is nice and just trying to work her 9-5 and I respect that. But holy cow the amount of rude- ignorant BLATANTLY racist and homophobic staff who are now employed at this location is crazy. Like I get Salvation Army is a church but holy cow. I had an experience where I was accused of stealing the water container that I was drinking COKE out of…. And yes I had it the whole time it was in the store. I absolutely understand the prices sometimes- rent has gone up and so has buisness. but I feel like lately they have purposely been putting the paper tags on so they rip and can price them full price “for not having a tag” And it’s one thing to be messy and chaotic- this store is actually filthy. Dirt and dust bunnies galore- piles and piles and piles of clothes not being run- and the “sections are sections.” They need to pay their current staff more- cause idk how they deal with it. And they need to hire more staff. They have a nice plus size selection and a good sized men’s section. There are so many better local charity shops and thrifts- and I frequent those much more often. As I child I relied heavily on thrift stores- and as an adult I enjoy them. The staff is very mixed- The super sweet elderly POC woman (im awful with names) is always behind the counter ready to greet you with a smile, and the people who bring out the carts are always wonderful and willing to answer questions. There are two cashiers who are awful- rude, grouchy, unfriendly- and THEY I have seen first hand changed prices behind the register then what was on the tag- or refuse to sell at a tagged price because it was marked "incorrectly" It 100% ruins the atmosphere of this otherwise awesome thrift store. Most of the time I enjoy coming here- However in the last month ALONE the prices at this location have sky rocketed- along with every thrift store in the community unfortunately- to the point of it not being reasonable to bother buying something used- rather then from say TJ Maxx or Shein brand new. The discount days are sometimes decent- and I've gotten some gems here or there- but I hope the store doesn't stay this way- they are going to run themselves out of buisness.

worst thrift store I’ve ever been to. the entire store is very disorganized, the woman who seemed to be in charge was very rude. cashier Danielle (I believe) was very kind and apologetic. if you’re looking for old, ridiculously priced zara this is your spot!

While although I have seen more cleanly and organized Salvation Army stores before, this is such a high traffic area, it is almost impossible to keep it up to any standard because of the volume of people that come in. Clothes are semi organized and appliances and furnishings are scattered all about. I feel like those looking to shop here should be aware of these things before going, because it can be overwhelming if you aren’t expecting it. With all this being said, I feel like I am still able to find something every time I go there. So that’s why I am giving it three stars.

Rude staff. Sad bathroom open for customers to use but it has no water and toilet paper is big bike chained lol. Had to wash my hand out in the drinking fountain no other choice. I really hate to leave a bad review but I’ve been in a lot of Salvation Army’s and this one has been the worst one I have ever been in. The outside looks great but the moment you walk in it feels so dirty. The clothes were okay! The furniture department is thrown to one side of the store and is not organized at all. Bric brac was decent and going by colors. I couldn’t believe what I saw when I walked over to the shoe section. It was all really worn out shoes! Like why even put them out?! I mean it was bad. I never wanted out of a store so bad and have left one so fast. Be more selective about what you’re putting out in the store and be a little more organized.

Staff is friendly and helpful !! Employees receive ALOT of BENEFITS...after a length of time ( 30-90 days ? Life Insurance , 401 K plans and many more ). This store is way cleaner and much more professional !! Everyday is a half price off of tickets , each day is different colored tickets for items and there is also a FAMILY DAY..., bench to sit down on to rest inside. Security cameras in the store and parking lot also ! Have fun shopping !

Great prices. Good merchandise. Right on 370 bus line just outside Watervliet

The store is very nice. Clean and the merchandise was very nice. However, I feel that their prices was a bit high. These items are donated to them. I know they are non-profit and I know they do have employees to pay and buildings to maintain. However, the prices I still fill are high. Also, when I looked at a curtain it was marked one price and was half price that day the matching curtain was marked $4.00 higher and was not 1/2 price. They was on the same hanger.

Really excellent thrift store in a brand new location. This place has expanded to include several racks for plus size tops, bottoms & such (compared to other stores where there is only one or 2 racks of plus size clothes). Wednesdays different color tagged items are half off (it varies each week) and this is when I usually go. The last Wednesday I went I was able to find over $100 worth of clothing for myself and my mother for around $50. Well worth the trip! :)
