Manager exchanged incorrect wiper blades with ones with the mount for my vehicle, even mounted them onto my vehicle for me. Great experience at the Latham location.

Came in for wiper replacements and washer fluid. Evan was very friendly and helpful. Answered all questions I had about wipers they had for sale. I appreciate the extra help replacing the old wipers and showing me how the latch mechanism works which was being difficult. Would recommend this location, especially if Evan is there.
I came in with a dead battery to get a new one and requested that it be changed. I was told they dont do that because they're taking away business from Autozone down the street. After reading the reviews, it's clear that they do change batteries. Kind of insane, actually.

I had 4 employees gathered around my popped hood on a really hot day working to get my old battery out so they could replace it for me. One guy even went to his car to get his own tool to help get it out. Big thank you to the younger guy that changed out my battery, I think his name is CJ. Man at the desk that helped me buy a new battery showed my all my options, explained the differences, and didn’t try to push the most expensive one on me. As someone who doesn’t know squat about cars and had my battery crap out on me while I was out running errands, this trip to advanced auto parts was the easiest part of my day.
Went in to get windshield wipers replaced. After 10 minutes of the employee trying to get the old ones off he returned with a screwdriver and indicated there was a release he couldn't get to. As I was worried he would damage my wiper arms another employee Mike showed up. I went into the store to find out what the issue was and heard one of the employees state, "well tell her to go to the dealership". Then Mike and another employee whose name is did no get came out and took pictures of my wipers. Needless to say I left without wiper blades and headed to my dealership. The took my name and number and said they would have the General Manager of the Latham location contact me..it's been a week and still no phone call. I found the service I received to be rude and addressing my needs. Needless to say i will no be doing any future business with Advance Auto.
Best service I've ever gotten at an auto parts store! Rolled in at 8:55pm on a Sunday night, I had an inspection appointment at 8:00am Monday morning. The wipers were shot on my elderly mother's car, I should have known to check them sooner. They looked up the correct wipers for me, and the one guy installed them while the other guy rang me up. They both stayed late to help me and seemed genuinely happy to do so. I've worked retail for 25 years and most employees hate it when customers run in a few minutes before close. The manager Greg and the crew at this location are exceptional! It's the only place I go for vehicle parts and detailing supplies!!!
I paid for some shipping charge because they didn't have the part. Ok. But to not refund the shipping charge because you sent me the wrong light! Super wrong. How many people do you charge and send wrong parts to? It's a scam if you ask me. Then tell me the right light is available elsewhere and if I order/pay shipping again I will have it by Monday. Kick rocks!

Boy talk about bad attitude and bad service…this place has it all. Went in there because I was looking for an Alan wrench and you would think that I asked the guy a multiplication question to solve. Very rude and unhelpful.
Absolutely hate going in and asking for.a specific part & dealing with inexperienced 20 year old who can't figure out how to look it up on the computer. If I ask for a thermostat for a V6 4 liter engine, don't stand there and argue that a 4 cylinder 2.3 liter part "might" fit. I know what I have for a vehicle gosh darn it!
Ordered a part online for my Jeep, website said it would be ready for pickup at the Latham store in 30 minutes. I show up 40 minutes later and get told the part will be there in 20-25 minutes because it wasn't in stock at Latham. Inventory maybe?
Very helpful staff. Advise people if they are purchasing a more costly item (ie.over $60) it's a good idea to purchase the item on line to receive various discounts. In my case that came to 30% off!. Staff remembered speaking with me earlier in the day and was super helpful in cashing me out in a rapid manner. They were even kind enough to Carry my rather heavy trailer hitch to my car when they saw that I use a cane to walk. Being so responsive to their customers, especially those that are handicapped, ensures that I will be doing future business with advanced Auto parts in Latham, NY.
Do you need help with auto knowledge? Advice? Recommendations? The group of guys and gals at this location are top notch and will help you. I had no clue what I needed. But got my lights working for less than 10 dollars!
This is a review based on my dad's neighbor's experience. I happened to be there when his elderly female neighbor broke her windshield wiper blade trying to break it free of the ice on her windshield. I was too busy to fix it at the time, and she needed it done right away, so I sent her to Advanced as I knew they would help her. Later she thanked me for sending her there, praising the service they gave her. Thank you Advanced for helping a sweet woman get new wiper blades.
Great store, very clean and decent prices. The staff seems to know their stuff, especially a man named Greg there. He is always right there to help you out and will go out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. He has been there a long time and definitely seems to take his job very seriously.
As of November 2018 this location in Latham had excellent employees that helped get me what I needed and installed it for me. Can't ask for anything more.
Helpful staff, large selection, decent products. do not buy the cheap versions of parts because they WILL break. Happened to me with 4 different parts.
The staff are very helpful. The parts are resonably priced and they offer online purchase discounts. Best and cheapest way to get reliable parts is to order online and pick up in store. They always have at least a %15 discount online. Saves a lot!
