HORRIBLE ! I was in an accident August 11th at 1:09pm, a tow truck came to take my car to telep. I couldn’t get my release tow slip till the next morning at 8:30am from the passaic police department. I arrived to telep at around 8:45ish to get my car and the lady in the front goes “i’m only going to charge you a day” a day ??? on my telep receipt it says my car arrived to telep on august 11 at 1:26pm and was released from telep on august 12 at 8:51 am, how is that you holding my car for a day when it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet ?? SCAMMERS !!! On their receipt it says charge PER DAY is $35. The towing service is $155 plus the storage is $35 plus tax would be $190 but then they added additional charge like “wench fee” and “cleanup” i didn’t ask for my car to be “cleaned up” neither was it “cleaned up”. it’s ridiculous, not only do they scam they lie and it’s all a scamming business. I agree with every other review here on how the passaic police department should stop using this towing company. THE SCAMMING TELEP TOWING COMPANY DESERVES A -10 RATING !!
The city of Clifton should really start looking into the ethics of this towing company and the Police department should stop using them. My husband had his car towed at 9:35 am for expired registration (one month). That night upon discovering his car was towed, we went to the police department and got a release form. He picked up his car at 8:39 am the following day. Therefore, this company stored the car for less than 24 hours. They charged us 2 days storage. In all, they charged us almost $500 to receive our car after less than 24 hours.
I read the reviews for the company. I thought to myself that these were people who, like myself, were going through a tough time and thats why they wrote so negatively. Thats not the case. EVERYTHING they are saying is true. This company is unethical and suspicious. It is clear that they are greedy and cold. They should absolutely be investigated for their "fees" and practices. You just don't do this to people.
I honestly don’t even know how this place is still up and running. They are VERY unprofessional. They’ll tow YOURE car and make up any charge that they can to get money from you. Clifton police had my car towed there after an accident (I had asked them to send it to a place in passaic which they didn’t.). When i went to get my things out my car I had workers watching me, for what?! I honestly don’t know. I then went the next day to pick up my car and THESE PEOPLE STOLE the catalytic converter out of my car. When i confronted the mechanic he denied denied denied. The thing is, before my car went in EVERY part was connected to the car. And this isn’t the first time I’m hearing them steal from peoples car. The people who own this place is DISGUSTING and don’t deserve a business
Minus10 for this company. They tow my car and hold it for whole day because they are not open on Sunday but they are open to tow it In middle of the night. Thief body shop. Prey they don’t pick up your car you’ll wait to get it . Scammers
When you need to go to work and you’ve discovered your car is missing, it’s obviously going to cause a lot of stress. The last thing someone needs— is to call the company that took your car at the hours they are suppose to be open— and NO ONE ANSWERS. I must’ve called at least 80x before someone actually answered. If I could give you negative stars I would.
If it is a police towing prepare to pay an arm and a leg ($270) and you need to get a release form from the police dept. Thanks to covid— you need to EMAIL the police and wait forever for them to send you the release form. If you don’t pick up your car the day of— it’s even more money the next day.
You people are thieves and you make an already hard day even harder.
