Stupid awful company, predatory towing. My dad’s car was taken within less than a minute while he was working Uber Eats near Newport Mall. We came back almost immediately, and they had already hooked it and taken it. This company clearly hunts drivers instead of following fair practices. $189 gone in seconds — money that people work hard for. Based on my experience and other reviews, this feels like a pattern, not an accident. Be very careful if you’re in this area.
These are the most uneducated people i’ve ever dealt with. They don’t know what it means to have a notarized paper. If i can give them negative starts i would. Please educated your workers and you’ll have to deal with less angry customers.
I used their company last night, the driver was very considerate to our situation, and all though didn't end up towing my car, he texted to make sure we were fine. They have become the only towing service I will use in the future.
You can file a complaint with Department of Consumer Affair at hudson county nj to protect your right. If you ever been accidentally towed the car, please keep a copy of your shopping receipt
1) They not supposed to hire a spotter in the plaze, if you see a staff with "King Towing" shirt sitting in the parking lot, please takes a video recording and that can be used in the legal action. Hope this help, and I am supportive of Kings Towing trying to help out community, but this current owner is doing more of a own purpose to drive revenue. The previous owner was much nicer than current one

Our experience with Kings Towing was nothing short of a nightmare, resulting in significant financial loss and immense frustration. On July 28th, my husband's vehicle was improperly handled by this company, causing an estimated $800 in damages to the car. To add insult to injury, they refuse to take accountability for their actions. My husband paid them $150 to release the car, in CASH, and was not given a receipt or any proof of payment which, quite frankly, is highly suspicious and unbelievable for a legitimate business.
We have irrefutable camera footage of the entire incident, which shows how my husband's car was working fine when he parked it, to the car being undrivable AFTER they intervened. As a direct consequence of Kings Towing's actions, my husband was forced to miss days of work, incurring further financial losses on top of steep repair costs we are now facing.
Upon researching this company, it has become abundantly clear that our experience is not an isolated incident. The online reviews here paint a very disturbing picture of a company with a pattern of predatory practices, including damaging vehicles and engaging in questionable billing tactics.
Be warned: this company operates with a complete disregard for customer property and basic business ethics. We have already filed a police report and are actively pursuing legal action to cover all damages, loss of wages, and other associated costs incurred due to Kings Towing's negligence. We intend to hold them fully accountable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

you don’t get towed. They hire spotters that sit all over their areas so that the moment you leave your car, it’s on the hook. Been working with lawyers for 4 months trying to catch them under the predatory towing act. Making progress, i’ve got 2 seperate spotters on film. DO NOT park at BJs or Shoprite and walk away.

This company is literally hunting drivers! I parked near Newport Mall for just 3–4 minutes to pick up a delivery order. When I came back, my car was already gone.
It’s clear they just sit and wait for someone to leave their vehicle for even a moment, then immediately tow it away without a word. This isn’t about maintaining order — it’s a trap for unsuspecting people.
I admit I parked in a hurry and not in the best spot, but their actions were excessive and inhumane. No warning, no chance to explain — just a tow and a fine.
I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Be careful — they work fast, silently, and seem to enjoy making people’s lives harder.
Company has unlawful towing practices. Driver refused to unhook my car from a shopping plaza until I begged him. He then requested I pay $90 in cash in order to unhook the car, but refused debit or credit card, despite the business accepting these forms of payment. I had to walk a half mile to an ATM and pray that he was still there as he said the flat bed was on the way. I was only parked there for 30 minutes and they claimed that the owner was watching on cameras (there weren’t any cameras around). This was clear and blatant trolling for unauthorized vehicles, on top of the fact that they don’t have ANY signs in this lot that state the name of the tow company, any contact information. There’s one small sign in the middle of the lot that’s not in compliance with NJ law. I will be reporting them to NJ consumer affairs and honestly, this entire interaction and the fact that I sat there begging the tow truck driver .. they should be ashamed of themselves. For 30 minutes!! And I honestly had no idea I couldn’t park there because it’s a massive shopping plaza parking lot with one tiny sign that’s not even compliant with NJ law.
The employees believe that it’s funny and comedic when people come to claim their vehicles after they are towed. I suppose making money by getting a contract from the city is insufficient, rubbing salt on people’s wounds is what gives them real joy.
They are heartless scammers who wait for people to exit their car near mall to take it. A delivery driver exited his car to grab order and the tow back in front before stopping he was already putting the lift down. I beep him to tell him that there is a dog in the back of the car and person was coming right back. He still took the car. I followed him and he kept circling the mall then cut a left to loose me from following behind him. I followed him to see where he was taking the car, so I can make sure that the dog was ok as the dog hid down, was terrified, gasping for air in the back. In humane. I stuck around to at least be able to tell the person what tow company took the car and to tell them to immediately get there, because the dog was terrified and the tow person did not care. I called the company because they hung up on the person trying to call about their dog. They said they knew dog was in car as they got the call already. Said the mall called them to tow car which was a lie. The person just got there. Ruthless and no regards for life.
Useless Scammers who will take your car in less than 5 minutes. Asked for a receipt and they can’t even send that. Worst business practices I’ve ever seen any company use. Beware leaving your car by the Newport area. Beware, they are immortal and are lucky they are still walking and in business.
As many others have stated this company has terrible practices. I did make a mistake by parking in the fire lane... for 5 mins. I ran inside picked up my food and rushed out. My car had DISAPPEARED. They stake out by the newport mall area to tow vehicles. Please be careful everyone they don't have integrity. they didn't even follow protocol on towing my vehicle. There was no police report made for me to find it. It was just gone. Thankfully I called mall security and they must have had this happen often because she knew exactly who to call... There's no way the mall called the towing company and they came that quickly to tow my car in 5 mins...they are stealing people's cars to make a profit. If you're looking for a towing service this business tows. If your looking for a business that is supported by BBB look somewhere else! They aren't even supported by BBB...
I am going to file a legal complaint against the mall who give them contract to tow the cars. They shouldn’t not get any contract from places like mall and AAA. My car wasn’t even there for 30 mint but I pay them for whole day and money wasn’t the issue but they damage my car
Don’t get fooled by allowing them to get any type of business dealing with people cars. The place where they keep cars is filthy.
The place they keep the car is not even legally should be allowed by any towing company. I am going to submit report to Better Business Bureau and I will take legal action against them and the mall who give them contact for towing service.

As explained by all the comments before mine, this company is engaging in highway robbery. They pounce on this particular parking lot where there is no signage when you enter or anywhere near where the car is parked. The lady on the phone was the worst, they only want cash, and they charge us for 2 days even though the car arrived at 11:55pm.
They are horrible!!!! The sit and watch and plot to tow peoples cars. I was literally parked in front of my residence bringing groceries into the house my dog was literally in the car and they still towed it with my hazards lights on. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau. The property manager didn’t call nor did concierge or anyone else.

I went online and used AAA. This towing company came. The driver was so polite, patient and nice. I hope I never need a tow again but if I do I will be calling this company directly. They are five stars!
Thieves who towed my car in a matter of minutes… while I was literally shopping at shoprite and worse ShopRite was least helpful in this matter.
All I did was ask for the procedure to release my car… and the bald spectacled guy started yelling that I was giving his employee a hard time. He continued to yell and make a scene the entire time that he was doing me a favor by releasing my car on a Saturday… the yelling and physical demeanor was so scary that I was worried i could have been in physical harm! These crooks ruined my entire day and got me traumatized!
This place is absolutely doing illegal dealings! I am HOMELESS and they impounded my car with my animals in it! They did not check the vehicle to see if anyone or an animal was inside. Had my cats died I would have had a really strong case to shut this place down. But mark my words anything I can do now to bring this place down I am going to do. They told me one price the day it was impounded and what it would be the following day. Went back the following day and they boosted the price by almost 20 dollars more. This is a tactic to try and keep the vehicle. The “ugly bald guy” told us that he can take the money for the impound and hold on to it and then said if you can’t get the tow truck I can’t give it back? These people try to keep your car! They did not care that I live in my vehicle and have nowhere to go. I can’t believe that this city has a contract with these criminals. They are unprofessional! The “ugly bald guy” handed me a paper to sign for the release and as I handed it back through the window he snatched it out of my hand. As we were getting the car towed, they were peering in and laughing as if they took something or just laughing at my situation. Which I could die. On top of that, everyone that works there looks illegal and doesn’t even have a certification for their job. I know this because my boyfriend asked them for a job just to see and he has his cert. from ford. They claimed he was over qualified aka LEGITIMATE! This isn’t over and I will absolutely promise that I will get people to listen and look into this company. You can’t get away with illegal dealings if you are attached by contract to the city government and not get audited. They messed with the right one this time because I hold people accountable to the ugly things they try to hide. I will tell my story to anyone who will listen and enough noise will start to gain traction in the right places to take this place down. I had the last laugh though because guess what YOU DIDN’T GET MY CAR! In fact, I was laughing with my head out of the tow trucks window all the way out of their hole on the wall establishment.
Three weeks ago I had to call Triple A for my car to be towed . My tire went flat while I was driving. It turned out that my Civic SI did not come with a spare tire. The driver that was dispatched , his name was Ezza , was very professional and knowledgeable. . It was 2 am in the morning and I was stranded by a gas station and having tow driver that handled himself professionally, made the whole experience less scary. He was great. We want to send him a charka bracelet so that he can have positivity just like the positive experience that I had. I highly recommend King towing to anyone that needs assistance on the road.
I would give this company a huge NEGATIVE FIVE stars if I could. They hire the most unprofessional drivers. At approximately 8:15 pm tonight, one of their drivers aggressively and dangerously cut me off going up the ramp off of exit 15E going towards Jersey City. If I didn't move to the right as I saw him speeding right through the tolls (supposed to be at 15mph) coming towards me, he would have definitely crashed into my car causing severe damages. As we passed him going into 2 lanes towards the Kearny area, he decided to flip me off for honking my horn at his dangerous maneuvers. Then as we reached the red light right before the bridge, he flipped me off again as if I was the one at fault for his impatience and incompetence.
This company needs to hire professional drivers who properly represent their name because that driver was doing that in their tow truck which he probably doesn't even own and would expect the company to pay for all those possible expenses in damages and he would not have cared. Terrible! If that's who represents your company and you allow it, I would never recommend anyone to use this company for our businesses or personal use.
I have a video of the entire incident and I recorded the driver flipping me off (2x) and the whole vehicle. I am reporting the driver and this company to the Police.
Thank goodness I was able to avoid his bad driving and I made it home safe. It could have ended differently with people like him behind the wheel. Unfortunate, sad and just plain old pathetic.

This place is a scam. If you park by BJ’s/shoprite be careful because they have tow trucks waiting to tow cars at random. I was a customer at BJ’s and they said that management called my car in. Within the five minutes of being inside BJ’s? And I’m a BJs customer? The math doesn’t math here.

Parked my car for 5 minutes in the Shoprite/BJs lot when I had to run to the store, and these crooks just towed my car. When I got to their office on Tyson Lane, the ugly bald guy with glasses (who kept on munching on Doritios the entire time I was there - it was disgusting) there who called himself the manager of that place was so rude, it was hard to believe such disgusting people are allowed to exist. He didn't listen or tried to listen to what I had to say.
What's the point of parking in the Shoprite/BJs lot when your car gets towed when you're in those exact stores??? These guys are crooks, thieves, and the most pathetic people I have ever seen.

So my car just dies out of nowhere while I'm driving along. AAA sent Wilfredo out to me with a flatbed.
First, he was there within minutes, which is the fastest I've ever had a AAA driver show up. He drove my car and I all the way back to PA! Was friendly and professional. He took great care of my car even though it's a complete beater. He let me ride through the toll on his EZ-Pass even though I had no cash on me! Then, we get to my buddy's shop, and it's in this tight little alleyway which I know tow truck drivers hate because it's real tricky to get in and out of, dude just sent it, full confidence in his trusty steed. It was sick.
If you use these guys, definitely ask for Wilfredo. He's good. Chill guy too.

I was rightfully towed by this company in early February 2022. Upon retrieving my vehicle, I noticed the rubber trim in the driver's side window was hanging from the top of the door. Additionally, the interior of my vehicle was covered in dirt matching the handprint on the window.
The owner or manager that answers the phone confirmed that this company broke into my vehicle in order to disengage the parking brake. However, I noticed this same dirt all over the vehicle - including areas nowhere near the parking brake.
I had to pay hundreds of dollars to repair the trim and get the interior detailed in order to get the dirt out.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS: If I could give this 0 stars I would. Nothing these people said makes sense. They couldn’t tell me why the car was towed. Told me i was not allowed to call AAA to the lot as we are parked next to a AAA car. Then they told us we couldn’t drive off the lot and we had to call a different towing company to tow the car 25 feet off the lot so we could leave because they also wouldn’t tow it off the lot. A classic tale of New Jersey robbery and tow companies and police in cahoots.
