To whom it may concern, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred at the Home Depot location in Jersey City, NJ, today at approximately 4:37 PM. My husband was at the store to pick up a DoorDash order, and I was on FaceTime with him throughout the visit, which allowed me to observe the interaction in real time. During checkout, two female employees of apparent Indian descent repeatedly hovered over my husband on two separate occasions, watching him closely and making him feel uncomfortable and singled out. What was particularly concerning is that there were other customers nearby, including a Filipino man, a Hispanic couple, and a white couple — who were not approached, hovered over, or treated in this manner. My husband felt that the behavior was racially motivated and covertly discriminatory, as there was no valid reason for this repeated attention while he was simply trying to complete his pickup. From an outside perspective, the situation looked inappropriate and biased, as though my husband was being unfairly profiled or monitored based on his appearance rather than his actions. Such treatment is unacceptable, especially in a place of business that should value inclusivity, professionalism, and respect for all customers. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed and properly investigated. Please ensure that staff at this location receive appropriate training on implicit bias, respectful customer interaction, and anti-discrimination practices. I would also appreciate written confirmation that this complaint has been received and that the issue is being addressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I called ahead about a moving kit and was told that it would be in stock to walking and purchase, but it was not when I arrived. But, Bridget in customer service was so helpful! She helped me gather the boxes I needed and then rang me up to get the bundle pricethen she helped mark them down up front so that I would get the bundle price. Thank you Bridget! You save me a lot of time on my apartment move.

I've had great experiences in this store, but had a more negative experience with a recent fridge installation. When I purchase the fridge, I requested a COI required by my building for the installation which happened last week. I've spoken with a few people checking on the status and the last person I spoke with said that my building doesn't require it (that's not true and I see it written on my order confirmation that I requested one). Separately the installers plugged the fridge into a plug that I use frequently rather than the outlet behind the fridge where the old one was plugged into, and I would need to pay to have them come back out and plug it into the other outlet. Definitely not the end of the world that I have to unplug my fridge to use that outlet, but the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

It was a good experience, help was there when I needed it and a great service. Some items are harder to restock and we are forced to look for alternatives. Looks great in there.

I enjoy shopping at Home Depot, it's my #1 for tools and equipment personally. However this HD was a bit disappointing when I needed help with finding the right PVC pipes for installing an unusual sink. I went in looked around helplessly for what I needed, but was unsure, so I asked an employee, but he didn't understand anything about pipes and told me that wasn't his area, so I went to a lady who the area was assigned to and before I could ask her for genuine help, she gave me such an attitude and told me most people come in here thinking we suppose to know everything in here. In my head, I'm thinking yeah you should have an idea of whatever your section is. If your doing PVCs and such and I ask you about it, you should be able to inform me on it or direct me to someone more knowledgeable, but never, and I mean never should an employee make a customer feel like they wrong for asking something that you should no. You wouldn't get that from an Apple Store, everybody there knows the products in and out and have such great responses to anything you throw at them. So this HD needs to improve on that.

Consistently reliable define whatever random tool or piece of home or lawn Care equipment you could ever think of. It's trusted by contractors of all sorts and is cheaper in general than the competition tends to be. My homie Quan with this location is that there is a lot of traffic trying to leave and enter the parking lot.

Worst experience I’ve ever had buying an appliance or anything else for that matter. I canceled an order, they confirmed with me that the order was canceled. They delivered it anyway, They left it in front of my house without me even be accepting it. On a jersey city street which screams steal me. I had to lug it into my backyard which was no easy task. After numerous calls they . They scheduled to pick it up and never came wasting half my Saturday, and never even told me until I called them. I wouldn’t buy an appliance from this from this store if they were the last store on the face of the Earth

This is what happens when the company get bigger they just don't care about the customer I was waiting for the delivery. The delivery guy called me. I came outside the building. The person say he's going around the block he never showed up again. Then he said that he attend to deliver and we were not there when I called the store and I spoke to the supervisor of the store manager. She told me it's not up to her walking with a delivery Company and she cannot help me regarding that problem so not only I was wasting my day waiting for the delivery to showed up now I have to wait again for a different date for them to try to deliver it. I guess I will time is not value to Home Depot and Home Depot. Employees can lie to the customer and they get rewarded for that.

We came ready to buy a washing machine. All we needed to do was have someone process the order. We've been waiting for 45 minutes just to have a person come and do this. I asked 3 seperate employees to have someone come up and here we are.

Avoid this home Depot at all costs they don't want to assist end of the day and when your late they disrespect you and kick you out. I'm willing to dive to Lowe's 30 min before returning to it. Top it off they refused to check me out at the register 9:05 with more then 600 of plumbing and electric supplies

I placed an order for a number of “HDX 27 Gal. Tough Storage Tote in Black and Yellow” My order was supposed to be delivered this past Saturday. I waited all day only to be told the delivery couldn’t be made that day and will have to wait until the next day. Sunday came along and no order. Told it will come today (Monday). I called again at noon and was told the order couldn’t be delivered once again and was told they’ll attempt to deliver it again by end of today. It is now 7 PM - and nothing so I called again. Now, I am told it couldn’t be delivered and will be postponed until tomorrow. When we placed the order, I gave them my phone number and building instructions with gate code to access my apartment building in case I was not home. No one ever showed up or called my phone. Delay after delay after delay. And it’s been perfect weather last few days. I am not sure who’s the supervisor for the drivers/delivery, but this is ridiculous. Ultimately canceled my order. Why wouldn’t I? Tomorrow, they will tell me the same BS and postpone yet again. Be aware of the false delivery date/time they promise you if you place an order at this location.

Moving Van review: recommend looking elsewhere (U-Haul perhaps). Check in was unnecessary long - 30 minutes. Blamed on a new system. Van was filthy upon pickup. Tire pressure sensor light kept coming on, causing a bit of anxiety not knowing if the tire was ok. Was expensive too ($170 for 6 hours).

An absolutely horrible experience. I attempted to rent a carpet steam cleaner. The rental center / pro service desk phone numbers were not answered after numerous calls. At the store, after waiting about 20 minutes, employee Shirmian came over to "help". After eye-rolling, she briefly fiddled with the computer and promptly gave up. While there were numerous cleaners available to be rented, she refused to put any effort at all into assisting. Given how horribly rude she was, I left. An extremely disappointing trip, given the employees at this location are usually very helpful.

Quick stop into Home Depot on my way back to Brooklyn, super appreciated. Carlos‘s help figuring out the appropriate , size plumber valve piping for my project and also appreciate Asante for guiding me to the bathroom. It was a bit of a journey!

I went to the JC location to buy all new appliances for the 4th of July sale (4+ appliances) and asked someone twice to send someone upstairs to assist us. I was there for an hour and a half and no one ever came upstairs to assist. The second person we asked was incredibly rude stating she wasn’t going up there, not her job but she’d call who should be up there- still no one came. We heard someone be asked to come to appliances over the intercom twice. It was horrible customer service and their loss since we were intending to spend a decent amount of money on appliances tonight. Would not recommend if you need assistance/ want good customer service.

Chronically understaffed Home Depot location. Don’t expect to get any help here if you need it. Have to ask for a customer service rep multiple times for a specific department and they never show up.

We've been going to Home Depot for more than 30 years. Rarely have we experienced helpful employees (except for Jeff in carpets in Arlington, VA!). However, my husband and I received TOP NOTCH customer service today at the Holland Tunnel location by Sweet Tee and Ruben. We were greeted by Sweet Tee when we entered the store and she gave us a personal escort to the upper floor outdoor plants section. Then, upon checkout Ruben offered friendly service and cut up some garbage bags so we could line our trunk with to cart all our plants home. Also, the Outdoor Plants section is the best we have ever seen! We were blown away by the baskets of mixed flowers and we bought 2 flatbed carts full! First time we walked away from having fun at a Home Depot! Thanks

GREG FROM LUMBER NEEDS A HUG! Home Depot has been a place that has always been supportive of my home projects. Greg from lumber though was so angry and not helpful- took me by surprise and my family and I just stayed quiet as he yelled and went on a rant on how he couldn’t help us cut because he doesn’t have time and he would have to help everyone else in town. Other than that- the store is fairly organized and clean. People in the hardware section were fairly knowledgeable on the extensions for our drill…. Ok store just needs more love

I was told to place an order for in-store pickup and assured that the staff would help cut the lumber upon arrival. However, once the product arrived, they completely denied offering any cutting service for special orders, instead told me to cut myself. Very disappointing and misleading

Super nice and friendly people! I spoke to Paula about my pick up order prior to heading to the location. She was great on the phone and everyone at the store was happy and pleasant. It's rare to see store employees not hating life for being at work. 5 stars in every way!

This place is horrible. If you need to get into something locked up. Be prepared to wait forever. Its like the little staff that do work here are not trained, and always relying on someone else (let me page them) Then no one shows up, I waited 15 minutes then left. My recent experience at the 440 Home Depot was the same except we waited 30 minutes for wood to be cut, and could barely find any staff in the store. Skip Home Depot and shop local. If for some reason you cant try Lowes.

If there is literally ANY local hardware store, or anywhere online that isn't the Home Depot website, go there, not here. This place sucks. The employees don't care and aren't helpful. The inventory doesn't match their website. It's the worst Home Depot I've ever been to in 7 cities in 3 states over the last 20 years. When I think of how many local businesses must have been forced out by this big box monstrosity that seemingly hates its customers, it makes me sick for my community and my country. I won't be back and you shouldn't either.

I have shopped here now numerous times. I can say that the number of helpful employees is extremely limited. Most of them don’t care about the job and are very rude, particularly at the customer service desk. Like, very rude and dismissive towards customers. I’m finally compelled to write this review now when they refused to do price matching, ignorant of the corporate policy. I showed the price matching policy to them from The Home Depot website, which clearly contradicted their refusal. So basically they’re rude and uniformed. Just be nicer and do better!

Pretty good Home Depot location for so close to the Holland Tunnel. It’s somewhat smaller than some other locations but has everything more or less. The staff are always pretty friendly. Have taken my dog here many times and he is a big fan too. Only complaint is that sometimes their website will show something in stock in a certain location in the store, but it’ll be nowhere to be found when you go there. Otherwise very good!

It’s has options but somehow not as versatile as NYCA ones. Worst was there was no one to pack at the exit and not even a scissor to cut the thread. Some how options were lower than other stores. Couldn’t get much options for packing boxes.

We got our Christmas tree from here this week, and so many branches immediately fell off after cutting the netting off. They seemed to have been cut off, not falling off because they were dead. The trash bag in the photo is full of branches. Just make sure to cut open the tree at the store before bringing it home to make sure all the branches are attached (which we didn’t do). Other than that the tree seems healthy! We will be going back tonight to get a new one.
