My family was driving to the White Mountains over Memorial Day weekend when the splash shield under our Honda Civic came loose and started dragging on I-93. We had to pull over and called roadside assistance through our insurance. Kirk’s responded within about an hour on a holiday weekend Saturday.
George was incredibly helpful. Instead of just towing us, he got down on the ground and temporarily fixed the shield, then followed us to a nearby auto parts store to make sure we were safe. He helped secure it with zip ties so we could drive all the way back home safely.
He completely saved our day and weekend. Super kind, professional, and practical help when we really needed it. Highly recommend Kirk’s, and special thanks to George!
My son and I arrived at the gas station on snowmobiles downtown, they were closed for the evening, but the owner Christine Happened to be there still and offered to turn the pumps back on for us. We had stated that it was not a huge deal, but she wanted to make sure that we were safe and made it back to our destination. We really could use more people in this world like Christine. I’m sure it was inconvenient to turn everything back on to sell us the little bit of gas we needed, but she did not hesitate. So thank you Christine, and next time we will pay it forward even if that means going out of the way!
I've had assistance from Kirk's 3 times, the last time was a tricky recovery from a culvert yesterday. Somehow the truck was recovered from large rocks in the culvert completely unscathed. The recovery man was extremely knowledgeable about how to do it, really took his time, and ensured no negative impact to the truck. Thank you so much for the fantastic work.
Been using them for 21 years, never had any issues. Both main street and Tenney mountain locations. I had to use them to tow (on Christmas Eve) and fix my brakes when another local garage forgot to tighten the bolts. I like the gas pumpers on Main Street, good local folk, and now and then can pick up some local eggs to boot.
The owner is a stand-up person, involved in local youth sports and local politics. I have nothing but respect for him. Furthermore, I can only imagine that some of these negative reviews were self-induced problems created by people from away that don't treat people with respect.
And yes, ethanol free gas. My 2-strokes and lawn equipment after a few tankfuls are happy again.
I have gone to Kirk's Truck and Auto repair to buy ethanol free gasoline. The gasoline I purchased was clean and ethanol free upon completion of my testing.
Don't let the rustic patina scare you away. The gasoline they sell is good and I like to support folks who sell ethanol free gas.
Whatever you do, DO NOT go to this place. What they do best is taking advantage of college students. No one there is helpful. I had an encounter with the tow truck driver who was supposed to take the boot off the car he was impolite, boorish, inconsiderate, nasty and unprofessional. Just for your own good go somewhere else. Don't say I didn't warned you.
Had the pleasure of speaking with Christine today about my car that took them almost 48 hours to pick up and tow, to find out they just dropped in in their lot rather than the body shop they were supposed to take it to. I didn't authorize this, no one called to tell me. I called the body shop this morning to find out my car was not on their property. Christine was less than helpful, rude, and couldn't have cared less because they were "busy." Said “well I can have him turn around and bring it back.” Seriously? Subcontracted by AAA - will pay someone else than ever allow my car to be towed by this company again. Will absolutely hold them liable for any issues with my car or anything missing from it. Also Christine, learn some customer service skills if you’re going to be allowed to answer the phone there.
