Screaming children in all the hot tubs and pools, multiple hair dryers plus running children can be heard from the sauna which is mildly hot. The pools themselves were murky and not very hot. Was included with our stay but definitely not a spa or getaway by any means. Great day care option

Awesome place. Great hot springs, nice rooms and friendly staff. Thank you for a wonderful visit from Cape cod Massachusetts ❤️

If i could put 0 stars I would. We were offered a credited trip to the hot springs. We were so exited leading up to this all weekend, to swim in the hot springs and have a fun time. We get there. Towels arent provided its a 7$ purchase…its a resort how are towels not provided? Theres no hot springs. The hot springs is actually located on the outside of the fence and cant swim in it. Butttt you can swim im the “soaking tubs” which is just dirty lukewarm water with chunks in it, and it smells like the ocean (not in a good way). Theres kids running around in the locker room. Even though the sauna says 18+ theres about 7 five year olds crammed in there. To put the cherry on top some grandma went full nude with children around! Fully digging in her private parts, legs open airing everything out..maybe thats what the ocean smell was. Overall it was free so what can you expect but definitely made our final decision about renewing ownership….

Walley’s is a hot springs resort located in Genoa. The small town is adorable. Wally's resort offers seven pools of hot natural spring water located outside with a steam, sauna and shower room in the mens and women bathroom, the women's bathroom has blowdryers. The 1862 Resturant has live band on Friday and Saturday however the restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday. When your done soaking in the warm water and having a nice dinner stop by the shop and get yourself a souvenir or bottle of wine, beer and liquor. Candy for children even a cute t-shirt. The room I stayed in had a private porch overlooking the beautiful mountains and spring river all while soaking in the beautiful sunrise and sunset. Outside they have a playground for children and grills with tables for family gatherings. Pet friendly with plenty of run around space for youre dog. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing time with family, friends or just a getaway with your partner.

Water is not hot enough as it used to be. Normally I would find some warmer pool but all of them seam luke warm. Staff is saying new automated system is controlling temperature. It kind of looses the point of going to hot springs if these are luke warm springs.

Close proximity to golf and skiing....sometimes on the same day! South lake Tahoe is nearby. Wonderful place!

It’s just regular hot tubs. And three of them were caution taped off. Nothing special

What a beautiful setting and a great restaurant. A good choice when you're looking for a place to stay near Gardnerville. I would have given five stars but they're really letting the place get run down and not caring for the property I know they should be.

Wally's Resort and the Hot Springs are run as separate businesses the last time I visited. The Hot Springs asked $70 a day without discount for stay at the resort. Double check for the latest policies and prices as they have gone through some changes in the last few years. Historical Marker states: Like many Nevada hot springs, these dot a fault break along which the mountains rise. In 1862, along this Carson branch of the Emigrant Trail, David and Harriet Walley developed a $100,000 spa with 11 baths, a ballroom and gardens. The thermal waters (136˚ to 160˚) became well known as a cure of "rheumatism and scrofulous affections". It sold for a mere $5,000 in 1896, but functioned as a hotel until 1935 when it burned. Its former cool cellar you see is still in use. In 1962, trial hydro-thermal power poles were drilled here as deep as 1,250': Maximum temperature 181˚. Erected by Nevada State Park System and the Carson Valley Historical Society. (Marker Number 120.)

Overall all, its a good get away. The hot spring pools are great relaxing features of the resort. The 1862 Restaurant & Saloon there at Wally's Resort had a great Steak dinner on our first night stay. But the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday, which was a real bummer. The pools are small for a Resort, and can get kinda crowded at times. But we still enjoyed the swimming pool and hot spring pools. Carson City is the closest large city being about 20 minutes away.

It’s a nice place to stop if you like Hotsprings. There are couple of small pools (5)… The view is great. There is $55 daily fee. (2025 July) There is a small store where you can find everything pretty much! Including the entry ticket. Because of The surrounding nature is worth to visit You can have lunch or some bite in a restaurant right next to it. “David Walley’s Restaurant and Saloon 1862”

We recently stayed at this hotel in a two-room suite setup, which was convenient for our family. However, a few important issues impacted our stay. The main concern was that the AC wasn’t working in either room, and we had to request fans to get through the night. Additionally, the hotel is located in a very remote area, and with the growing number of EV drivers, it would be helpful to have an on-site charging station. The nearest one was about 25–30 minutes away. Given the location, I also believe the hotel should offer some basic essentials—such as water bottles, coffee filters, or a 24-hour vending or grab-and-go option—especially since their on-site store closes at night and opens late in the morning. Overall, while the layout was practical, the lack of key amenities and preparation for guests’ needs affected our experience.

Loved it the hot springs are the best they have many different hot spring pools of different temperatures you just pick what's right for you then kickback and enjoy the mountain views.

Amazing hot springs! Would definitely return and recommend. Plus, the woman who I checked in with, Karen, was spooky friendly and funny. She made me day :)

Visited for the day April 23, 2025. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Nice hot spring pools. Slight sulfur smell.

Price is $55 per person. You can go to wild island Waterpark in reno for $44.99. Or to carson hot springs for $15 per person. Egregiously overpriced for 5 small pools. On the positive side at at this price your likely to be the only ones there.

Great spot for a hot spring soak on the western edge of the Carson Valley.

Nice facility. Closed often due to weather. 5 hot tub style pools and 1 larger swimming pool. Pools are not labeled as to temp so you must foot dip to determine. Steam room was not functioning but sauna was nice. Locker rooms were clean but two of three showers out of order.

For Day Use of the springs, bring your own towels - they no longer provide them unless you’re a guest at the adjoining resort. And BYO locker lock if you want to secure your stuff. Overall amazing experience relaxing in the multiple pools, sunbathing, and using the sauna and steam room ??♀️ oh and I loved the poolside drinks / food service!

I love relaxing here. Nice getaway place, and the pool and soaker tubs are wonderful. Wish they would fix the jets in the hot tubs. I use an electric chair, and some of the sidewalks were in need of some repairs. Very bumpy from unit C to pool area.

Historic hotel located near Genoa, NV. Rooms and facilities are nice and there are various options available for staycation type accommodations. There's a nature hiking trail that goes directly into the town of Genoa. Plenty of pools and spas for guests to enjoy, nice restaurant, and convenience store.

Karen, who gets you in the Marketplace, does not belong anywhere near customers. She is a very unsavory person. I was given a day pass as many of the spas at the Ridge Resort were put off service. The pools at Dave Walleys were nice but seemed a little dirty. The steam room needed cleaning. I enjoyed chatting with other soakers.

We visited the David Walley’s hot springs, it was a very good experience. We met Steve, a staff worker that gave us excellent service and gave us a tour of the whole place, he was a very kind and welcoming person and always had a smile on his face. Because of him, we will definitely come again.

Nice and well taken care place. The pools water temperature varies through a day. The big main pool temperature was about 80-85F. The small pools temperature was 87-120F. Really wish to have water thermometers for the water temperature. Be careful of supply water jets they are really HOT. They have handicap lifts for the pools. 4.1.2024

Overall, I had a great time here. Customer service was ok. However, their towel policy is unclear. Employees took my wet towels multiple times in the locker. However, I was told to use the same one for the day, a little weird considering the size of this establishment, and considering we payed a good sum to stay a few days I should be able to get as much towels as needed. Secondly, there locker policy is a complete downgrade from the last time I was there. They will only give you one locker for male and one for female considering it's winter time and we had a few guys with winter clothing it made locking everything up a complete hassle I'd recommend bringing your own lock and key. And this hotel should be able to afford more locks. It seems very weird that they limit them. Other than that, there are more hot tubs open than the last time I was there. Also, the hot coco at night while it was cold, was a great touch. I believe his name was Steve. He needs to get credit for going beyond for customer satisfaction.

We had such an amazing time thanks to Steve. He makes this place so much more enjoyable. Always maintaining the pool’s cleanliness and temperature. He made sure our group was comfortable and having a great time. He does this with every customer. Great customer service Steve, keep up the great attitude. We will be back!

Lovely experience even though I missed several days before Christmas. Walls are thin so be aware when busy could be loud. Loved the second floor because still had a view and easy access to stairs. I never used the pool but hot springs were welcoming with excellent hospitality in the check in area.. Remember to bring food because I did not bring enough and too lazy to drive anywhere and market prices where too expensive so I only had a yogurt for dinner one time. Great way to loose weight. There is a restaurant but I never went because no one was around to ask about dinner etc. Very low staff..

Walley’s Hot Springs is worth the visit and price! The hot tubs are filled with minerals rich water and it makes your skin feel nice and rejuvenated. There’s also showers, lockers, and clean bathroom on site. Mark Twain once visited this place and so did many other historical figures. If you have the chance, stop by and enjoy a nice bath in the hot springs! :)
