My wife’s Audi Q5 broke down when visiting Starkville. The owner of A&R helped her arrange a tow truck and went out of his way to get her car evaluated and repaired. It ended up being an easy fix and he was honest and charged a fair fee. We really really appreciated his honesty and the quick turnaround. He runs a very busy shop and went above and beyond to help us. I highly recommend A&R.
I trust Ahmad's recommendations when it comes to maintaining my Audi and my Lexus. It does sometimes take a couple of days to get an appointment because they stay busy. I think he's the best mechanic in Starkville when it comes to troubleshooting and identifying problems. A and R has been in business in Starkville for about 45 years, and I don't know anyone who loves this community more than Ahmad.
NEVERRRRR bring your vehicle to this so-called “repair shop” if you’re in/near Starkville, MS. They replaced a battery fuse in my car for $300 and left half of my battery separated from its connector, resulting in my battery being loose (see pictures). My car blacked out on the highway after a minor bump because of how loose the connector was, and they refuse to assist me or come to terms of some sort of compensation for this negligence. They are a joke!
Did a great job servicing my car and making all the repairs in a timely manner. BMW 750 which is well cared for. Before I leave I see noticeable scratches on the hood that I bring to his attention. He spits on his hand and wipes it and says I see nothing…. I can’t make that up. Going to get scratches fixed now. Smh.
I took my 2012 VW Golf turbo diesel to Ahmad this week. I was due for timing belt/water pump, and knew I needed a new thermostat and a cam seal due to an oil leak. This experience couldn't have been better. They had it done in a timely manner, beat the VW dealership price wise by a mile, and they even found and corrected a leaking oil line on my turbo. My car was not left a mess, and looking under the hood you can't even tell anyone touched anything. Upon looking at it closely, I can see they paid attention to detail and took pride in their work. 10 of 10 recommend.

Possibly 5 star. Super friendly and by far the most experienced having been here for 40+ years. Called me on day 2 with an estimate of 1400. I have a 2008 SL550 Benz and they actually found a glove compartment to install! Couldn't fix my ESP module - said it's a dealer specific issue. Said my push button start would now work, but it doesn't, hmmm. I'll certainly call them back on that. They kept my car almost a month, no update calls other than when I called them. Apparently, some mechanics were out sick. They are busy. The actual cost was 1900 - I didn't know until the pick-up day. I'll use them again, but with some agreement on update calls and cost changes on estimate.
He's had my car for over a month now and still hasn't even gotten to it yet. Every week that I call he says he hasn't gotten to it yet and he always says maybe next week. So for rn I'm leaving this review just to say that it might take a while for him to get to you. I will come back and edit my review once he gets to my car
He charge $80/hr just to look at your car, and didnot even look at it for three days and you have to call yourself to ask when he is going to fix it. He just killed my time for nothing. Piece of a.....
I could not have been more pleased with the service and attention received from A & R Foreign Auto Inc, and Ahmed, its owner! With no alternatives short of towing to a Memphis, Jackson, or Birmingham dealer and on a tight timeframe to return to Chicago, A & R replaced the required sensor and tuned-up my BMW in a timely manner and at a very reasonable cost. The car has never run better. I would not hesitate using A & R for any issue on my car.
Our daughter is at Mississippi State and we are out of State. It is a helpless feeling when a Volvo breaks and you do not have a mechanic you know or trust. We cannot say enough about A&R. They are knowledgeable, dependable, and trustworthy. We highly recommend and are grateful for A&R.
We've been using A & R for about the last 8 years to perform maintenance and repairs to my wife's 2008 BMW 328i. The owner, Ahmed, and other mechanic, Allen, have always proven to have an expert knowledge of their craft and Ahmed is always upfront, fair & honest with what he charges. He has gone out of his way to find aftermarket or salvage parts, as opposed to just ordering carte blanche through a vendor like most shops, in an effort to save us substantial money. And it's always nice that, even tho many months or a year have passed between visits, he always remembers us and the car. He keeps a full lot of customers' vehicles, so it sometimes may take awhile to get the car back if you've not set a specific appointment and timeframe. All-in-all, one of the best auto mechanic shops I've ever dealt with and highly-recommend for foreign auto repair.
