The people were ver ly professional at front office. I had a car wreck and they towed it and were very cooperative. Opt to visiting instead of calling if your vehicle was towed by A1, they sometimes dont pick up the calls.

Got my son’s car towed to this business from the University. Got a call with a quote with a quote for $280 (with student discount when my son arrived to pickup and pay for his vehicle) for the issue we thought were the problem, as well as a new issue being it needed a new starter (another almost $400) that they never even looked at. Because if they would’ve, they would’ve found out my son forgot to tighten the starter bolts on the starter when he tried to fix the car. The just assumed the starter was bad because it struggled for them to start initially. (Oh yea starter is perfectly fine by the way, thanks for inspecting the issue you claimed it to be). Then my son went and picked up his vehicle for a grand total of $320.46 (no student discount applied, I know he should’ve asked/paid attention), went back and asked, they told him too late it was already done. I don’t know how we were given a quote with discount applied but a receipt $40 higher with no discount on it. 10/10 would NOT recommend these people to anyone, especially when trying to help a kid out.

I’ve used a plus for 15 years and they know me by name. They keep my old trucks running and do a great job of communication and are honest about their prices. I can’t recommend another auto repair shop any more highly!

EDIT: No employee at A+ took a test drive with me. No one even offered to take a test drive with me. I requested a list of OBD fail codes that were showing, and the mechanic said he didn’t have that information anymore. I am also perplexed when you say that two of the issues my car had were RPMs dropping and a no-start condition. How can there be an issue with the RPMs dropping if the car is in a no-start condition? There should be zero RPMs if the car doesn’t start. The fact remains that A+ diagnosed my car incorrectly. If I had allowed A+ to replace the A/C kit, my car would still have the problem with the relay within the fuse box. That oversight would most likely lead to additional problems with the electrical system. While electrical problems might be “tricky,” A+ claimed they fixed my car, and they didn’t. When I returned later, they wanted to replace a functional A/C unit and completely missed the simpler and cheaper solution with the relay. It’s good that A+ didn’t charge me for any additional diagnostic fees because the diagnosis was wrong. I think the fairest way to handle the situation would be to refund me for the initial diagnostic fee since your technician made an incorrect diagnosis. I will locate my maintenance record from the other mechanic, and I will contact A+ in a few days to hopefully improve A+’s diagnostic process for future customers. Thank you for your response. ORIGINAL REVIEW: A+ Auto replaced the alternator and fusible link on my 2013 Lexus ES350 earlier this month. I supplied the alternator, so I paid A+ approximately $850. After they replaced it, I noticed that the air conditioner kept turning off automatically. I took my car back to A+ on Friday afternoon, and a front desk employee said I needed to come back Monday morning because all the mechanics were busy. I returned on Monday morning, and waited about two hours while they diagnosed my car. Two employees told me the air conditioner compressor clutch was broken, and they recommended a new air conditioner kit. They gave me a quote of $2,115 plus tax, so it would be about $2,263 after tax. I declined their service and went to another mechanic in Starkville. That mechanic discovered that a connection involving the relay within the fuse box under the hood was bad, and he replaced it. My air conditioner works fine now, and it cost me a third of what I would have paid if A+ had replaced my air conditioner kit. It’s bad enough to potentially pay over $2,000 to replace a functional A/C kit. What is worse, is that A+ likely wouldn’t have fixed the electrical malfunction, and I would likely have more electrical system problems in the future. I’m disappointed that the A+ mechanics didn’t identify this problem with the relay, and instead, they told me I needed a new A/C kit, potentially costing me thousands. If any of the A+ managers want to contact me, I will be happy to explain my experience in greater detail. I also asked for the OBD scanner fail codes that they found, but they said they cleared the codes and didn't have them anymore. I connected my OBD-II scanner when I got home, and it showed a P2610 fail code. The front desk employees quickly grew impatient when I pointed out that the air conditioner was functional prior to them replacing the alternator. I had just spent around $850 at A+ only a few days prior, and no one there would entertain the thought that maybe the air conditioner wasn’t the problem. I’m just glad I didn’t pay over $2,200 for A+ Auto to fix something that wasn’t broken and not fix the real problem.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at A+ Auto Repair. My Jeep’s transmission gave out, and I called them for help. They said they could tow it to their shop and take a look at it. After towing it there, they later called and told me it was past their capabilities to fix and recommended Performance Automotive instead, claiming they handled transmissions. Following their suggestion, I paid for a second tow to Performance Automotive, only to find out that shop doesn’t actually repair Jeep transmissions.. they only replace them. They quoted me over $7,500 for a full replacement when my issue doesn’t require a full rebuild. So, I ended up paying more than $500 out of pocket just to be told what I already knew (I have a code reader and had already identified the problem myself). To make matters worse, I previously had my thermostat replaced at A+, and the mechanic didn’t even fully reconnect a sensor afterwards. That caused a code to appear, which I had to fix myself by locking the sensor back in place properly. When I tried to have them tow my Jeep back home, they told me they were short-staffed and to call someone else. I gave them time and called again a week later… same answer. Between the misleading recommendation, incomplete past work, and poor communication, I can’t recommend this business to anyone. Their carelessness and lack of accountability have cost me hundreds of dollars and a huge headache. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle somewhere that’s honest and capable.

I’ve known a mechanic that works here for a few years now and we have some good work talk every time we hang out (I do industrial maintenance), so whenever my truck died on me a few weeks ago I knew where I wanted to take it. They do great work here. They called me and told me the price of the towing and troubleshooting up front and once I agreed the process began. They called me back 45 minutes later with a list of all of the diagnostic codes that it had thrown and their recommended solution for each one. They then told me prices and the grand total. As a maintenance man myself I could tell this was an honest assessment and agreed to have them do the work. Two days later my truck was ready and I went on a road trip to a concert to meet Randy Travis and my truck drove like it was brand new. No check engine lights, smooth sailing for 200 miles. I’m very satisfied with their work and prices. I’ll probably eventually bring my daily driver in for a tune-up as well!

Very Friendly Staff and quick on repairs but the cost in labor has increased astronomically. They do not utilize an hour rate system or combine labor costs if you have more than one thing repaired. For reference a job that took roughly 3 hours costed over $900 in just labor and diagnostics alone!

I recently went to A+ to have my truck looked at, since my power steering pump went out. They were very courteous, and super quick, even though I had dropped it off on a Friday. They even overachieved and checked my brakes and replaced them for me when I gave the go-ahead. Overall a pretty good price, and super nice mechanics. Would 10/10 recommend Brian, or any of the techs, because my truck has worked great with the new pump and brakes. Keep up the good work!

I cannot recommend this shop. Their poor diagnostics and questionable business integrity cost me over $1,000. My car had trouble starting, and they immediately replaced the starter (over $600), but that did not solve the issue. The real problem was the battery, which they failed to identify at first. Only later, after charging me another $400+, was the battery replaced. When I raised concerns, they claimed the battery “just happened” to fail right after the starter replacement — an unlikely coincidence. On top of that, they double-charged me for diagnostic fees, showing both underperformance and a lack of accountability.

A+ Auto was a lifesaver! Especially Logan he was amazing to deal with!! I am a parent of an 18 year old daughter at State and we are hours away from her. Her car broke down a couple weeks into school starting and we had no idea who to call so far away. Logan fit us in and treated us like family. They fixed her car and had her back up and running in no time! She also had a separate issue with her car on another occasion right before she was to travel home. They quickly fit her in again, fixed the problem, and without me asking, checked several things on her car to make sure she would be safe to take the travel home. The Communication was excellent! Logan would call me and then would also go over in person with my daughter everything so that she was aware of what was going on. This will be the only place that we use while she is at State!

The people here are so kind and generous! I had to quickly run in and out and drop my car off, and they were kind enough to give me a student discount even though my mother was the one picking up my car. They were open to taking on my (very annoying and old) car and they did a phenomenal job with very quick turnaround.

I went in needing my spark plugs and an ignition coil replaced. I made an appointment for 8am and the staff was very friendly. I had my 10 month old son with me and told them I'd have to wait for the repairs to get done because I didn't have anyone to pick me up. The staff turned a TV on cartoons for my son and even played little games with him. I was there for about 2 hrs but it didn't seem like that due to the staff working there. Will definitely go back for any tune up or maintenance that I may need in the future.

I had a few issues with my AC and the staff was very accommodating and helpful during the process of me getting it fixed. I was given a detailed description of every issue and was given the flexibility to decide and research the best course of action. The parts and service were reasonably priced and now my AC works perfectly.

I had the best experience with A+ Auto Parts. The ladies at the front desk were so helpful and understanding. Going through a rough patch, worried about finances, and pretty clueless about mechanical issues….they were really helpful and the mechanics were great too. They really tried to work with me, and even though the end problem is something that another mechanic shop will have to look at, they made a great referral. And I already trust the new place based on how the women at A+ Auto Parts treated me today. Highly recommend, especially to those who may be like me and need a place that is honest and tries to help you in all the ways they can.

Have had nothing but good experiences with this auto mechanic. I've used them for everything from oil changes to basic maintenance and replacements for a variety of parts. I appreciate them showing me the issue when possible, and letting me know when work doesn't need to be done. Prices seem fair as well, and generally the work is done within a day. Front office staff is nice and helpful, and awesome at communicating the issue and price estimates. Have used other mechanics in town, but A+ auto is the only one I'll go to now.
