I’ve not had to use them personally, but my mother, who is disabled use them for services on her vehicle. They not only took care of her vehicle the same day without much notice, but they also dropped her Off at her house and picked her up when the vehicle was done. They treated her kindly and with respect! I am very thankful for businesses like this that care about the person and not just their business. Thank you for your service.
This review is long over due as this happened in March 2024, and I had brushed it off because I thought deep down these were good people and I still believe that, but the more I think about what happened to me, the more angry I get. I went in because my brakes were making an awful grinding sound. They replaced some parts in my front suspension that were around $950 when it was all said and done and it did not fix my problem, because the actual problem was my rotors. I am from out of state and was waiting for my vehicle to get done after it had been there a couple of days and they did their best to get me on the road after work that day. Well I hit the road and a few miles down the road I hit a patch of ice and my steering wheel had zero tension on it and was really loose.
I thought it was super odd. Well they sent me off without an alignment and when I had called them, they said, "you will be able to make it back home about 450 miles away and or we will look at it when you get back up here the following week.
I made it to Rice Lake, Wi, had to get a hotel, and had a guy help me limp my car to Osseo Wisconsin and I spent over $1000 because my tires were shot from driving without an alignment and when I called Jack and Don's. They apologized and said we can give you an oil change.
Not only is driving without an alignment one of the most dangerous things you can do, they literally told me to keep going and they offer a lousy oil change to make things right is beyond unacceptable.
The owners are incredibly kind and faith lead, they are probably some of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life and are so willing to help, they meet you in the middle when it comes to prices instead of high bucking you like all these other companies around here. Their mechanics are great at what they do, Aaron will go above and beyond for just about anyone who needs a helping hand without a doubt or question in his mind out of the goodness of his heart. It's as if your family everytime you walk through their doors. They have everything in which makes a company thrive and when you leave trust me you'll be back even if it's just for good conversation!
We arrived in town on Friday at 10 pm from St. Louis with our check engine light on. Saturday we called several auto shops and the dealership and couldn’t find help. Then we reached out to Jack and Don’s Services and Sherry diagnosed the problem and said they could work on it Monday. Monday we dropped it off and were given a ride back to where we were staying. At the close of business Monday we were up and running and able to continue North. They were friendly, helpful and recommended seeing your amazing high school while our truck was being repaired. It’s was amazing but we found Jack and Don’s Service more impressive and we are so thankful that they were there for us when needed.
Great communication, transparency, and helpfulness. I worked with this shop from over 600 miles away and would definitely recommend them as a place to take your car.
Update: Originally some issues with communication and pricing but the overcharge was refunded without problems. Unfortunately, they left me with 3qts less transmission fluid and I didn't find out until 3 days later when my car stopped moving at a stop sign. One weird positive, my ac condenser was bent but now it isn't, they must have replaced it.
Love them! My wife and I were renting an SUV...driving between Two Harbors and Hibbing we blew out a tire. We managed to get to Hibbing on the spare...It was a Saturday afternoon. Where could we get a tire to keep us going? Jack and Don's was the only place open on a weekend...GREG! answered the phone, suggested I come in so he could see what size tire needed to be replaced. And in 30 minutes (in 0/ZERO degree weather), GREG had the new tire on the vehicle (after dynamically balancing it on his tire machine). What a nice guy - we had fun discussing upstate MN vs. upstate NY (and even NYC where we are from). GREG is an ace...honest, kind and fast-working. He knew exactly what to do (and even tried matching the tread of the tire he sold to me with the tread of the three matching tires on the SUV). All of this cost $50 (tire, ever so slightly used, and mounting). GREG! Thank You - and thank you Jack and Don's. You folks are Minnesota goodness and efficiency at its best.
They helped me really fast, no bullshit either very fair. It was pretty cool shooting the shit with the mechanics as well. Best prices in town hands down
I don’t remember his name, but the cool guy with the pony tail fixed my headlight conundrum right before dark. The receptionists were also welcoming and hopeful that the mechanic would be able to squeeze me in. I felt blessed by these people!!
This company is great - I was preparing for a weekend trip to the cities and realized my rear shocks needed replacing - I contacted Jack & Don's and a few other places and Jack & Don's was able to get me in the soonest. I rented a car while my car was being worked on because I had a specialist appt that I didn't want to miss, so my plan was to walk to the Hibbing airport after dropping my car off - it's a 4 mile straight shot but when Sheri at Jack & Don's heard that I was planning to walk, she insisted on driving me instead. They fixed my car ahead of their estimated schedule and we're very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them!
So grateful to Jack and Don’s! We were coming into town to visit family for the weekend when our alternator when out just outside of Hibbing. They were realistic with us on the likelihood of having it repaired over the weekend but when we called at the end of the day to determine how we may need to alter our travel arrangements they let us know the repairs were done! From the tow to the repair the cost was reasonable and the service was excellent. We were able to get back on the road and home safely!
Best people I've ever met in my life loving compassionate honest fair there when you need them and have a heart as big as the universe they will do anything to help anyone as long as they're true and honest and try to do the best they can

I was there over a year ago & was still in fear of the pandemic for personal opinion and health reasons. I honestly regret taking my anxiety out on them. You guys really did not deserve that bad review at all. You did nothing wrong, i did. I have since apologized, and you guys continue to go out of their way for us and give us the same great service as before. I am very grateful to have a great neighborhood family business that does not hold a grudge when a customer is in the wrong. Thank you, you guys for being there and serving us well.
Very fast service here. I bring my Ford E450 shuttle bus conversion here, and the owner (Mike) is very knowledgeable and hands on. They always use good quality replacement parts and are honest about what needs to get done.
They were able to get my vehicle in for a repair in 2 days while I was vacationing up north. I called multiple other places and they all had longer wait times so I was very appreciative and relieved that they were able to get me in so quickly!
However, the total was 20% higher than the estimate given to me over the phone for book hours. Not a huge deal but it was surprising since I only had a part swapped that I already had. I thought book hours were what you charged for a job and a good/fast mechanic could get it done in less time and make more money per hour for the shop while a slow/busy mechanic might take longer and they make less per hour (for the shop).
Again, not a huge complaint, and maybe I'm wrong, but that was the only downside. They did help me which was awesome and I'd recommend them and go there again if I was in the area!
Update: Their attempt to make things right was enough for me to change my review to five stars.
No need to look anywhere else. Flat tire about an hour past International Falls…middle of nowhere. Able to get the spare on but still had to make it back to Chicago. Everything else closed on Saturday but these folks Really saved our bacon! They installed a used tire on my 2019 Ram 1500. They were friendly and fast! Got outta there for less than $100. Really great people!!!
They were nice and quick about getting my car fixed, was very happy to do business with them. They gave me a good deal, and I’m just glad I can get back on the road again! Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about Jack & Don's! I was in a really tough spot with some big engine repairs that needed to be done, and everyone there was so kind and patient with me. Even though they normally don't do repairs that intensive, they made an exception for me and truly saved me. They were great at communicating about the progress of the repairs and worked to keep the price at a level that I could afford. My car is in great shape now and I will definitely come back to them for future repairs and check-ups.
I have gone to Jack & Don's many times over the years for many different vehicles, and parts. I called about finding a steel rim for my Chevy HHR, and although they did not have one they still looked for 2 days to try and find me one, and even offered to look elsewhere for me. Thank you Jack & Don's for your commitment to your customers, and for always having a smile and kind word when customers come through your door.
Always let me grab whatever I need off my 99 Durango, no questions asked. Usually have to remove whatever part you're looking for, but there are 7 or 8 compatible vehicles for me to chose from and unlike other salvage yards, they will give you discounts for removing parts yourself.. They also do great work in the shop. I've had many tires changed and repaired with no issues afterwards. Overall great people, great place and most importantly, great prices! If you need a used part off of a vehicle or if you need tires, new or old, check this place out.
These guys were so friendly and professional! We have been on vacation and the brakes went bad on our old dodge tuck. We pulled in and they looked at it right away, fixed the problem at a very fair price. Great guys! We were so appreciative of their time and work. We greatly recommend them

Not only did I get my oil changed but got the noise fixed too ( needed new shocks)

Yesterday my van broke down on side of road & it was towed to Jack & Dons late afternoon. They were kind enough to look at it right then & smart enough to figure out my problem immediately. I feared that they wouldn't fix it because the time was getting into the early evening, but to my surprise they jumped right in and got to work. My MAJOR PROBLEM was figured & completed within 60 minutes (great mechanics that know what their doing)!! I was so grateful it was only a hose. Then my next biggest fear was price. I was shocked to learn that it was only $150... They were extremely AWESOME from start to finish. They were honest (as a female they could've taken me to the cleaners), informative, & the atmosphere was very friendly (while waiting). I was almost upset they were done, because that meant I had to leave. That was the first time in my life that I actually enjoyed hanging around in a waiting area.
